By far the best spoons in the area.beer quality amazing,enjoyed some great beers from loddons,surrey hills,ELB,trumans, to name just a few.manager and staff here are fantastic.

Since the new manager took over,this place has improved,well done!Beer quality has got better,service and staff great!Enjoyed beers from lodden,surreyhills the last week.would be great if another craft beer could be added.vastly improved and worth a visit!

impressive new Antic pub,4 beers on plus crafts.tried a pint of pogo by the wildbeer company,very good.nice and bubbly staff,lets hope this place takes off,has late licence fri,sat.well worth a visit or two!

tried this place twice in last week,it is more of a food place,but have bar at back,enjoyed a goddards scrumdiggity,but on 2nd visit,saturday night they had run out of real ale!

excellent time spent in here before and after league 2 playoff final with the wombles.green king pub,so not a lot of choice for ales.staff were excellent and well prepared for the mass of fans.bit of a hill up to the pub!a few of my friends enjoyed the jager dollies!

haven't been here for 3/4 years,still an excellent place.veranda been added since my last visit which is great.still some outside seats too.enjoyed vast amounts of bowmans elderado beer.great 80s disco for my mates birthday,staff were excellent.is a bit of a walk to get to,but you can get a 265 bus to south lane from fountain roundabout.walk under the underpass,alleyway takes you to woodies and back to A3 bus stop 5 min walk.

first time in,nice spoons with clean fresh toilets.plenty of seating.a few guest beers on went for a new brewery for me thameside white swan pale ale,best pint ive had for a while.will return when im next in the area,was impressed!

first time in here for about 10 years,2 greedy king beers on so fosters for me,nice bar, TVs to watch sport,good beer garden,good bar service,can see why the afc fans have come back.rolls behind the bar for the peckish.

one of the best pubs around,enjoyed the surrey hills shere drop and collusion(new one for me)both very good.3 other beers on.cheeky cherry kriek finnish.excellent night had by all for my friends 40th birthday,and she did a good bat out of hell on the karoke!great pub and the staff were good too!

Amazing old pub,well worth a visit if you like your old historic pubs.only one beer on bombardier from the barrel,which was good.dining area inside,nice courtyard with outside seating,lovely peaceful setting.

Bar near the theatre called the mad cow.walk in and the older lady behind the bar makes a point of looking at her watch at 9.30pm.during my half hour in there drinking a very good pint of st Austell tribute,it become apparent that she a rude person,with the wrong attitude to bar work.had to laugh. When 4customers came in at 10pm and she rolled her eyes.would of had another pint but not with this type of welcome!had to wonder if pub is named after her!!!

Picturesque pub restaurant set in the stunning old village.3 beers on,doombar,hobgoblins gold and butcombe bitter.tried the butcombe which was good.bit of a fishy smell as you drink with dinners.

Pub at the end of the shopping area.traditional boozer,mostly locals in.2 beers on,galeshsb and yates undercliff,tried the undercliff which was ok.good to see a.pub with a jukebox,with some classics blearing out.also has pool table,seems friendly enough.

popped in for an excellent pint of fullers olivers island,new beer for me.not many in but the tango gang were in and always a pleasure to chat to.must visit more regular as suttons best high street pub.hoping the long serving guy gets the managers job,as he has been brilliant in here for years.

now called ebb and flow,popped in tonight,wondered where the beer pumps are.face lit up a few at back of bar which were craft beers,tried excellent pint of American pale ale at £3.75,but got no clue where it came from!think for the lager drinkers it must be bottles.good to have something drinkable as treasury stuff was crap! not too many people in for a Saturday,but nice friendly place.

quick pint in here last night,always seems a good relaxing bar.good to see one of the best bar staff working here,having years ago worked 2 other high street pubs.always has perfect manners towards the customers!

when this was scruffy murphys,it was probably the best pub in the high street,since then bar room bar,pepper lounge,bounce,bar 68,and smoking lounge have come and gone quickly on this premises.now seems antic beer chain have got it.which would be a welcome,as they are good with beers and craft beers.also tend to be more upmarket venues,so not sure if that will work in Sutton,but lets hope it does!

enjoyed some excellent butcombe rare breed and Windsor and eaton magna carta beer this week.service been good and its always a pleasure to drink in here when shift manager luke is working,hardest working wetherspoons worker ive ever seen in over 20 years of using spoons pubs!a real credit and asset to the nonsuch team!keep up the great work,cheers.

a couple of hours spent in here last night away from the madding crowds.quite a pleasant friendly bar with good service.green king beers so lager for me.shame the becks vier has been taken away.last bell was 12.30,so didn't have to go to the zoo on the hill.

now the guy who sorted the beer out has left,need to get someone in quickly.beer quality and choice hasn't been as good!also mr weetos been going to other spoons,due to beer giving him and also me dodgy guts.service from the bar is excellent,especially with the best ever spoons worker filling in for 3 weeks,while off from uni.

this is now called the"WALLINGTON ARMS".nice friendly place with quirky fittings.had 4 beers on including hogs back tea and doom bar,not the best selection.the 2 beers coming soon sharps Cornish coaster and adnams lighthouse,2 beers I love,just my luck.went for an excellent keg pint of meantime pale ale .worth a visit if in the area.

was in here last night,1st time for about 9 years.came in the front door where you have to dodge the obstacle course of table and chairs to get to the bar.being in the good beer guide and having a good selection of guest ales on,what could go wrong!went for the adnams American ipa which is a beer I love,unfortunately this was cloudy and not good at all.then went for orkney dark island which was ok.bar staff were good,but the pub could do with a refurb!

fantastic pints of surrey hills greensands ipa last night and when that unfortunately ran out,exmoor exmas was excellent.been great this last month as a guest real ale drinker in the grapes,the clearness,quality of the beers have been so good.the temp manager has done wonders in improving the beer,thanks. here hoping when the new guy comes in next week,he can keep such high standards.he will be a lucky man to have such a good bunch of staff to work with.

just an update,westerhams scotney green hop,outstanding and clearest pint ive had for ages in grapes.also been in last 4 evenings and there has been NO SMELL from the drains,so hopefully previous posters will try grapes again.lets get the real ale turning over,couple of triple fff coming soon which always goes well in the grapes.oh and Christmas has started in here.

brilliant tonight,enjoyed the hawkshead red and the Caledonian Trojan horse.even the devils backbone had the correct gas and was good.someone like the guy in charge at the moment would be ideal for the grapes.knows and drinks real ale and with the extra importance of being in beer guide,this is a must.not sure if he has applied or wants the grapes,but would be so happy if he has.

as it comes to another end of festival,my favorites have been,okells IPA,sheps Whitstable bay,and harviestoun old engine oil.better than the last festival but wish wetherspoons didn't have such a love affair with American beer.as for the drain smell,seems to be getting better this week,they have had the drain guys in 4 or 5 times and think they have found the problem now.also thanks to Mark for the last 6 years,always been good to me,best wishes mate.
can I just ask the new manager if we can get the news channel back up on TV instead of the adverts please,and of course keep our 20mins drinking up time.thanks.

called the green ginger,a Lloyds number 1 bar.bit of a strange place was in at 9pm and was so dark it was hard to see what you were drinking.had jail ale that wasn't the best,so went on to thatchers gold,bar staff were great giving me tasters.notice that bar at back had lights and that was where the uncle albert type customers sat.enjoyed the music 80s/90s.

called the cork and bottle,had no real ale on,even though supposed to be September beer festival month.thatchers gold for me.was only about 6 customers in,then a few more shouty types turned up which was time for me to leave.warning if you have a fear of spiders don't use the gents,bit off putting when you are having a slash and a giant cobweb with spiders sit a few feet above the urinals.

I like this place was in late evenings most nights this last week.beer quality very good,enjoyed Dartmoor jail ale,tavy ideal pale ale,hanlons yellow hammer.black tor pride of Dartmoor,teginworthy golden sands,and branscombe summa of that.always got served quickly,good staff here.

a wetherspoons not far from paignton seafront.can take a while to get served here.had Exmoor ,wildcat and silver stallion,both ok pints also had Dartmoor jail ale.if you want quality ale try the Isaac merritt.

ive always prefered the grapes to the moon on hill.but after 4 nights of the same beer down grapes and not great,i gave up and tried the moon.full marks great selection of beers,enjoyed the moorhouses witches brew, and the Twickenham naked ladies was the best ive ever had.service was great,and no knob customers in, that normally put me off the moon.got to wonder whats happened down the road when there were at least 10 grapes customers in moon.beer selection and quality brilliant.

end of the beer festival,3 best beers I enjoyed most were,RCHchocolate slug porter,shepherd neame IPA and banks Czech mate.now we can hopefully get back to the triplefff and surreyhills beers and abbot for graham lol.also would like to say a big thankyou to Luke who left after 8 months last night,not just a super lad but one of the best wetherspoon workers ive met in 20 odd years of drinking in several wetherspoons pubs.thank so much from me and the others.

not been in hope for a couple of years,but wow,nice extension and garden.very much enjoyed the crouch vale citra.amazing to think that I once walked into this place 10 years ago and it was one of the worst places ive visited with no beer on.just shows what you can do with hard work and getting great beer in.well done hope ,can see why it get so busy.

in for last hour Friday,the bank"s czech mate was in very good nick,one of best pints ive had in a long time.craig the manager here is doing an excellent job and staff so much more efficient now days.well done.its good that they have door staff on,but I don't need to be told at 14 mins after last bell that toilet is closed by one,mind he didn't argue when I brushed past him.

slerpy,i agree that the guy that came from the George introduced a very good selection of beers.he has now left and is at the wibbas in Wimbledon.moon now run by the manager from nonsuch inn north cheam.still good selection,but for the amount of beers they have on(too many I think),some get a bit tired.still a better pub than it was a while back.sorry for the misspelling of the greensand ipa.

met mate in here tonight,good too see so many beers on.had a pint of surrey hills shere drop,one of my favorites,bit warm but very tasty.wild river from the bar was fantastic.well done to the staff here.still have a few beers tomorrow if anyone is interested.

a Lloyds number 1 in a modern area of bars,restaurants and clubs, 2 minutes from the rail station.big bar overlooking the river,had a good breakfast in here today.only 5 real ales with guest from woodfordes and wolf.how people can drink at 10 am I will never know,i hope.

went in on Monday night and only about 6 customers in,friendly bar man had 1 real ale on a fair pint of woodfordes wherry for £2.60.other nights I walked past they had a bit of crowd in there.

good clean and friendly pub ,was in here most nights in the last week,good outside seating area with a barbercue area for the good weather months.the beer was very good in here,oak and redwood from grain brewery and lacons legacy from the lacons brewery great Yarmouth.also on a cider from Norfolk on hand pump. for the lager drinkers kozel,urquill pilsner and peroni.has bullitt restaurant at back of pub .best pub in great Yarmouth and its on the golden mile looking out to the sea. was told that in july and august more beers will be on.

enjoyed a few pints in here last week,adnams ghost ship,nethergate growler and mauldons silver adder at £2.15 all very good.always busy on my visits,but service was good.still selling mini cheddars which my local spoons in Sutton have stopped.handy with cab rank and bus station outside.

walked in here last night with 3 mates.having not been in here for 15 years,was pleasantly surprised as they had a mini beer festival with 6 beers on,.we had the banks"s sunbeam which was in very good nick.will be using this place a lot more now.

2 bar pub,which had 2 beers on london pride and doom bar.but noted that around the top of bar around 15 different beers will be on during october.only popped in for 1 pint friday night,but band were good and golf was on in other bar,so didnt get out till 1 am.

in last monday afternoon,2 beers on,fullers esb and conwy balchder cymru.had the wesh beer and it was very good. a cotleigh beer was going on as i was leaving. worth a visit if in village.you can tell the guvnor knows and enjoys his beers.

in tuesday night ,nice looking pub which had 2 beers on ,caladonian autum red, and adnams sole star. the adnams was good, a 2.7 beer but was too expensive at �3.80.busy place which is more set up for food.

visited last tuesday night,large pub which had 1 real ale on,which was yachtsman from island brewery,which was ok.seems a family place with large partys eating what looked like very big portions of food.worth a visit,but could do with some more beers on.

was passing tonight so gave this pub another try.was in for last hour,and tried the windsor and eton kohinoor and moorhouse white mist which were both ok pints.not many in and service was good.had 2 ciders on for the festival .

had very good chiswick in here last night,made up for there being no discovery on.since the new landlady took over would think the profits have gone up considerably.as i only use this place the early part of the week,havent found it to be that much rougher.still get a lot off old bill drinking here.must say the bubbly new barmaid is a good addition to the pub.(where is the town house?)

use to come in here a bit 10 years ago and 1st time in tonight for 5 years.well asked for woods beer which had just gone,so had an old hooky,which had to be taken back as cloudy and tasting off,which got changed for ok pint of naylors mild.then had a pint of dark star expresso stout which wasnt great.then went on to the ginger twist cider. as 3 of the guest beers had gone. a regular asked if some more beer could be put on which resulted in 2 beers being put on at 11.30 pm.had a hobgoblin which just come on and was good.the girl and boy serving worked hard and service was good,even offered a taster buy girl.forgot what a walk it is up to toilets,if i become a local maybe i get a key as well for down stairs toilet.beer could be a lot better, and i dont want to here about the bird with worms.liked the floor show of the 2 girls simulating sex.liked the drinking up time and boy only said youve got 5 mins to drink up at 12.20.sort beer out and i will return.

had some good pints of discovery in here this week.ive seen 4 new staff this week,who seem to be ok.would like a full pint for �3.60.staff need to be stronger on who they let in,the 3 blokes,1 with paint all over his clothes that were loud and just been refused in o"neills on monday night,wouldnt of got as far as the bar not long ago.

in last night,and the kelham island pale rider was outstanding.didnt even get down the grapes.as for the staff drinking,who cares they are off duty.the bar staff i know from moon and grapes are young and as good as gold,there is nothing wrong with them letting their hair down,they do have to put up with a load of crap from us customers.

hadnt been in here for 6 weeks,so gave it a try on sunday and had good pint of chiswick.both staff on were with the previous manager.the cock and bull has always been an expensive pub,dont blame the manager,its fullers who set the prices.having said that i do see old customers of the cock and bull drinking in cheaper places, all bar one (becks vier is �3.30 )and sutton arms(becks vier �3.20 carling �3)much cheaper than cock and bull.might have more competition when oneills reopens as a more upmarket bar.

open now as bounce bar,had a quick pint of lager in here last week.same as bar before with comfortable seating and the addition of 5/6 tv screens which has sky sports on. will do ok at weekend,but wonder if they can attract the punters in the week.worth a visit if you are a lager drinker..

in here yesterday evening,6 beers on larkins,cottage,3 from st austell and whistable ipa.tried the whistable,tribute and proper job all good.friends had food and were very pleased with the quality and the large helping.service and staff very good.no pickled eggs on sale.

The Shepherd and Dog, Ballards Gore
turned up yesterday lunch time with 25 afc wimbledon fans before southend match and we were looked after brilliantly.3 beers on all from wibblers brewery.hoppy helper which was very good but run out after a couple of pints.apprentice beer and best.tried the burger from the BBQ,very good quality and others were very pleased with their food.only downside was no brewers gold.well worth a visit if in the area.

interesting to see the reviews of the last 4posts,all new posters who have only posted about woodstock.as the woodstock is my nearest pub,would love it to turn round to pub i would like to go in,but for that to happen,would have to have a couple of good guest beers on (john smiths yuk).get the beer,food right,and customers will come,but not if the same crap still drink in there.

wealdman,you have the wrong pub.dolphin is still boarded up.winning post is next to asda,use to be red lion, they have a good room at back of pub to watch sport .well run by shamus,but can shut early if not many customers.

came in here at 10 pm tonight to have quick pint,but the bar staff and triple fff moon dance was so good didnt leave to closing time.was a real difference to last time i was in ,well done to cathy and team specially louise who didnt seem to stop working the whole time i was in, and other 3 staff were good as well.credit when credit is due. im not always a moany git.

was in monday night,had a nice couple of peroni,mate had the american wheat beer which is served with a slice of orange.3 drinks came to over �12 so a bit pricey,but found out if you had becks vier its 20p cheaper than cock and bull.very good service and nice clean place.

had a couple of pints of becks vier in here last night,like the refurb,beers on ruddles county,abbot and gk ipa,not beers that i drink.going to try the sunday roast sometime,as my mate has tried it a couple of time and says its the best he has ever had in a pub.the friday night disco of 60"S and 70"s music sounds fun.

was in here last night,a traditional style pub with 2 rooms.was drinking carling as had a lager day ,which me and mate thought was a very good pint.beer on was bass.nice to see a pub with a juke box.was made very welcome by the long serving landlord.worth a visit if you are down this end of high street.

was quickly back in here after my wonderful time last week,glad the same bar staff were in cath and the young lads,was talking to a couple of old dears,who said the staff are brilliant and bring their coffee over to tables.mate said rib eye was 1st class,i had tuna jacket.hope to try the breakfast early 1 morning soon.

nearest pub to where i live,went in here for the 1st time in over 10 years,after missing my bus.a pub without any real ale,so had fosters which was only �2.50 on mondays in august.was about 40 drinkers inside watching man united on tv.drank my drink quickly to get next bus,thinking about how woodstock was 20 odd years ago,sitting in the hatters bar drinking real ale served by big maggie.there use to be 4 different bar rooms.shame they knock the bollocks out of pubs.

a very good value for money pub,deuchars ipa was superb and only �2.50,was told if i have 3 pints you can keep the deuchars glass.also has special deals throughout the day on beer and food.

was in here bank holiday monday with 2 mates,couldnt see why the pub closed at 10pm when there was about 15 people drinking.can see why some sundays they close early ,when no customers there.as my mates dont come out till 9.30 will have to drink elsewhere that stays open later.

cockneypaul,lol.alan was barred for only 3 days,agree with you about said barmaid from grapes, i dont go down there if i know she is working.nothing against the young,just dont want to listen to their noise when i want to relax with a pint. the beer i had in moon was very good,shame that the staff served others, probably regulars when it was my turn to be served and im not that easy to miss.i do enjoy your comments,happy new year.

have to say wyndham,that i think you have been unlucky on your visit as there has been between 4/5guest beers sunday and monday,and 6 guest on tuesday.shame because the grapes is a nice wetherspoons. its a shame that you wasnt in there on the tuesday as tim martin made a visit.you did spend 5 hours there,you could of visited the crap wetherspoons up the hill.hope you enjoy the rest of the festival.

was in here last night,much improved,guinness was good,had live music back on a sunday, was busier.new landlord was working both side of the bar,which is good to see.had a chat with him,very approachable,nice bloke,has taken note of the chairs on table .could be just the governor to get this pub back on track .the barmaid was very good too.keep up the good work,enjoyed my night in here.

visited last night,6 beers on,london pride,harveys best,pedigree,summer lightning,sharps doom bar and cornish coaster.busy in the bar with lots of people eating(didnt eat myself but,food looked nice)headed to the well kept garden with a lovely pint of cornish coaster,which soon became 3 pints.well worth a visit to this well run pub.

been in the hope 4/5 times in last year,mostly on saturday nights with about 6 mates,found the beer to be very good every time.always seems to be a party or function on so very packed,been moved from our seats a couple of times and drinkers wont move out of way of bar when trying to get served,apart from this well worth a visit.

The Temperance, Marylebone
now called The Royal Oak,stumbled into this pub sunday lunchtime as thornbury was shut.excellent few pints of three sods session IPA.one other three sods beer on.had plenty of craft beers too.very good barman,who was great with 20 odd Wimbledon fans.very clean pub and spotless toilet.
