The live music venue is not a place to have a drink if you like anything different from Kronenbourg and spirits. Unless of course you fancy paying about 2.60 for a Red Bull? Drinks don't matter though because the music will absorb your concentration too much for you to even think about it!
As a pub is quite friendly and seems to have changed quite a lot over the past two years.

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking
Well there are people in baseball caps here but on the whole I would say they're very civilised. I think people need to get over the stereotypes. The beer is pretty overpriced here so my advice would be to buy in bulk. Not much in the way of ale either if you're interested in that kind of thing. The music videos are really soft porn as this is the real reason people have for watching pop music videos though there are a few good songs.
I do understand why there is a barrel by one of the tables or an aquarium to the back of the room but maybe this mystery is unravelled over time.
9 Oct 2007 12:42
I would have thought that this place is a nightclub? It is certainly not worth going here for a drink, that's for sure choice is overpriced and bland. The atmosphere is the reason for going though if you're simply after music I would go somewhere other than Woking to be honest.
9 Oct 2007 12:35
Not exactly packed. Where do the population of Woking usually flock to?
9 Oct 2007 12:26
This place is a bit posh to be honest. I think people go here to stay as it seems to be a sort of B & B.
9 Oct 2007 12:24
I don't actually remember going here. Is that proof how drunk I was at the time (especially as I remember a whole host of rather more striking things that I did, but then that would mean I'm not drunk)?
27 May 2007 23:01
If this the pub I'm thinking of the view is awesome. I would have taken a picture had I had the opportunity. The atmosphere is generally quite chilled out and refreshing - it is hard to believe this place and the Old Tom are in the same city. The beer is, also, nice which helps. To be honest I will give this place 10 out of 10 simply because I can't think of anything bad about it.
27 May 2007 22:56
Seems to be a rugby pub yet shows football. Appealing atmosphere, Irish or not. Have to admit that the drinks are outrageously expensive though: about 3.15 for a Guinness!!
22 May 2007 01:03
Very expansive pub, but it would still not be difficult to find someone like Marilyn Manson in here. As others have said, the live music is situated in the back room, but they apparently play it on the jukebox as well.
8 Apr 2007 22:34
The Fox and Flowerpot, Goldsworth Park
Quite a noisy place but possible to have a quiet drink as well. Will be doing Paintballing at the end of March. Think the London Pride may have improved, either that or I have no sense of taste!
19 Mar 2007 19:31
The music has returned! It is a bit retro but that's no bad thing
19 Mar 2007 19:26
This place is now called Barcelona. Is a bit of an eating place and is rather posh. Not one for the Friday night piss-up.
7 Mar 2007 19:40
Appears to have started live music again. Will be on Saturdays
21 Feb 2007 18:10
Seems like a family-owned kind of pub. Possibly a bit of a locals' local but welcoming to strangers.
If you have the courage to drink the Courage Best you will find it's the best! Why, though, do pubs have this habit of playing music over the TV so you don't know what people on TV are saying? If you get creative then this can be very entertaining but not the idea of watching TV. Could have subtitles at least
21 Feb 2007 18:08
They have karaoke night on Saturday it seems so if you want to embarass yourself up on stage, come down then. Plenty of cheese to sing along to such as Tom Jones and Tina Turner
21 Feb 2007 18:01
Am I right in thinking the beer festival was held around here? Very confusing as there is also a place called The Railway just opposite.
Very wide range of beers, mainly triple fff (this has nothing to do with the professional wrestler Triple H. It is a brewery based in Hampshire). If you're a smoker, probably best to bring your own tobacco though as the cigarette machine doesn't provide change
21 Feb 2007 17:58
Not very original, but that's not always a bad thing. Do they always have rock covers bands or does it vary?
15 Feb 2007 22:10
Full of people doing the quiz. Can never quite understand the English quiz culture but I guess it gives people something to do round here. Probably a decent enough place if you get to know it
15 Feb 2007 22:00
Local pub for local people. You ain't from round these parts!!!
15 Feb 2007 21:57
Bit posh but if you can get over that the beer is good. Would say it is mainly a place where people come to eat though
15 Feb 2007 21:45
Nice cosy place to have a drink when you're fed up with the other pubs. Has the quality of selling their Pilsner which you don't get everywhere. Bar staff are also patient if you take your time over a decision
4 Oct 2006 18:30
Bit more of a place for a romantic dinner than a good old booze-up. Also significantly overpriced. At least the Guinness is quality though and you could do worse for atmosphere
4 Oct 2006 18:28
Good place to come for a chat and a drink but not one for atmosphere
22 Sep 2006 20:14
Has a slightly wider range of beers than other Fuller's pubs. To be honest, rather dull atmosphere
22 Sep 2006 20:09
Basically a London pub situated near London. Where they get the decorations from I don't know, but it sure gives you something to talk about!
22 Sep 2006 20:04
The Leathern Bottle, Godalming
I'd just like to add I don't mind about the people in here being older - was just a little puzzled as to why younger people don't tend to come here
30 Aug 2006 17:43
This more a place to eat than a drinker's paradise but an ok place to stop when you are out and about
30 Aug 2006 17:41
The drinks range is not very imaginative but there's a good vibe here
30 Aug 2006 17:31
A pub where people talk to each other rather than a grab-a-drink-down-it-quick-move-on-to-a-club kind of pub. I like places like this
20 Aug 2006 22:55
I have to agree with spawny that it is this kind of place. Strange and disapproving. However the jukebox is entertaining
20 Aug 2006 22:51
A bit posh and mainly an eating place but still a good place to have a pint and look at life through another perspective
20 Aug 2006 22:48
Watch out for people embarassing themselves by dancing to music which is not very danceable.
Serve 4 pint jugs for anyone brave enough to give it a go
11 Aug 2006 21:16
Great pub if you're a smoker, not so great if you're a drinker: bit of a typical range of drinks. Bit cramped but nice enough
11 Aug 2006 21:14
The building has a similar shape to Project Orange but the pub itself is very different.
11 Aug 2006 21:12
Bit of a confusing place but nothing bad about it. Great for travellers who want a drink when waiting for trains
6 Aug 2006 23:29
The Prince of Teck, Earls Court
If you're a guy with self-respect you could do better than to trust some of the women who go here. Beer range is a bit boring and typical but not bad. Slightly random choice of books.
6 Aug 2006 23:26
Also some rather unusual (but friendly) people go here! They seem to have an uncanny sixth sense. Quite a mixture of things to read and great drinks also. All in all, this has the kind of quality that chain pubs tend to miss out on: being interesting
6 Aug 2006 23:23
Don't see what's wrong with the snacks but they are the same everywhere. Like this place for the same reason I like all O'Neills: it's a chain pub with atmosphere.
6 Aug 2006 23:15
Quite a few of the volunteers from the Great British Beer Festival in here. I'm guessing it's something to do with the beer. Very crowded
6 Aug 2006 23:11
Worth coming here just for the fact that they sell Theakston Old Peculier on tap
12 Jul 2006 17:54
The Fighting Cocks, Kingston Upon Thames
btw, not dissing clubs and bars per se just thinking of certain places located further west than Kingston
12 Jul 2006 17:47
The Fighting Cocks, Kingston Upon Thames
Tends to attract a more alternative crowd than other places. Has live music in the back room. Can't understand why we can't have more places like this and less of these horrible clubs and bars where everybody bullshits and pretends they're having a good time. Reclaim the town centre from the smug w****** and come here! 10/10
12 Jul 2006 17:46
A bar that sells a selection of real ales. This is what progress is about! (Though admittedly some of the lagers are equally tempting) Bring a newspaper if you want to something to read though, or you'll end up scouring through the Sunday Times or Daily Mail
10 Jun 2006 23:34
Almost perfect. Will drop a point for the cheesy music. You can make a donation to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution if you like. Or you can simply tend to your drink and not worry about such causes
10 Jun 2006 23:29
More of a restaurant than a pub. Hideously overpriced, which is enough to put me off. The atmosphere is alright, but I wouldn't make this my number 1 destination.
10 Jun 2006 23:16
Jack George Phillips, Godalming
Now has a pub quiz on Monday night, which is surprising (but great) to see in a Wetherspoona
2 Jun 2006 19:54
This pub is also called Scratchers, which can be very confusing! Has live music Saturday night. Seems like a pub that has a sense of community rather than just being a commercial establishment. Currently selling the seasonal Early Bird ale which is more than worth a try. Will give a rating of 10/10 as I can't think of anything bad about it!
2 Jun 2006 19:39
Probably not intentional but the lack of people and small space gives you the sense you're being watched so a bit uncomfortable. Slightly odd snacks at the bar, but probably very edible. Have London Pride on tap, otherwise it's more or less the usual kind of beer. Seems to be passionate about England
22 May 2006 19:10
Also called the Rose and Rown! Think it's about time they put the letter back. Very good selection of beers. Seems like somewhere slightly older people tend to go. Has live music occasionally
22 May 2006 19:06
Slightly old-fashioned, in a proper way not a silly themed way like some nightclubs do these days.
22 May 2006 19:03
The Wellington Arms, Sandhurst
Harry Potter has been sighted in here, apparently. Great atmosphere, tasteless but funny choice of TV. Giving it a 10/10 as I cannot think of a bad thing about this place
22 May 2006 18:57
Absolutely packed in here, so something must keep them coming. Is it the different types of Guinness perhaps? We found ours was perfectly normal.
Live music on Sundays
22 Apr 2006 13:59
The Prince of Wales, Wimbledon
They probably come there for the female workers. Has a vibe of being relaxing and lively at the same time. Even if you're teetotal you'd enjoy it here, but they have some good real ales on offer, Adnams Broadside, London Pride and IPA. Also plenty for the lager drinkers of course.
Saw a Jessica Biel lookalike in here the other day. If you know her, I want to know her too!
22 Apr 2006 13:54
This place is really a restaurant so I don't know why it's on the list. Just be patient - it may seem empty but it's actually all upstairs.
22 Apr 2006 13:46
Have to agree with Biker's comment if referring to the Guinness. Seems like a bit of a sports fans' pub at weekends. Good to place to stop off at on a walk
19 Apr 2006 19:30
The Black Swan, Martyr's Green
This pub also featured in Inspector Morse as the setting for a pub in Oxford. Why a pub in Oxford and not in Cobham we will never know!
A must for the real ale fan as it offers an impressive range. Atmosphere is warm as well. The only bad thing about this pub is that it's difficult to get to without a car
26 Mar 2006 19:44
Good place to chill out, have a beer, listen to music you've never heard before and watch some pool. Have T.E.A. and Courage on the handpump at the moment. Bit bored with those ones. You may think differently though. Get a good view of people acting as if they're trying to get away from something or someone (but not from the pub!)
13 Feb 2006 17:21
Seem to be obsessed with Belhaven. Not so quiet on weekend nights, though the lively quiz helps draw people in.
13 Feb 2006 17:16
Currently selling Young's bitter, so if you're into your ales, lap it up. The music videos will have you in fits.
13 Feb 2006 17:12
This is a place where you order the drink and watch the TV. Doesn't have much character, basically a drinks shop.
13 Feb 2006 17:09
Seems like a sort of haven of tranquility and jolliness. Sells Everards at the moment
13 Feb 2006 17:07
Still a locals' pub, but more of a friendly one now. Used to be like a monastery but has livened up its image. A loss for some but a gain for others.
12 Jan 2006 17:44
Think there is some conspiracy against Wetherspoons pubs. Food is good, beer is good, service is good, atmosphere (craic)is ok. Not too distinct from any other Wetherspoons pub. Apparently this pub has the longest bar in Britain.
8 Jan 2006 23:16
Not open until 5pm so obviously no point in going here for a pub lunch. However if you want to see live music you're in favour! Live bands here almost every night of the week. Good craic. Tends to attract a youngish crowd.
8 Jan 2006 23:12
They do music videos here as well. Or comedy videos depending on your opinion. Bit of a chain pub without a chain, not a bad place to get a cheap drink
31 Dec 2005 17:32
The Hope and Anchor, Wokingham
Rather biased in their choice of music, so are other pubs though. Definitely a local, also quite hard to classify, but veering more towards friendly than 'you ain't from round these parts'. The Guinness seems ok
31 Dec 2005 17:30
Be patient when trying to get in here. No, you don't have to wait to get in, you just have to find the enterance. Music is a bit on the pop side. Sells Brakspear, is this a local brand or not? They also seem to sell it down in Hants
31 Dec 2005 17:26
When you go in it doesn't seem like a pub but it is a pub, honest (well maybe a bar). Bit like an Ember Inns establishment in terms of layout. The clientele don't seem especially terrifying but have a strange habit of continuously ordering food.
31 Dec 2005 17:23
Strikes me as a friendly locals' pub (really locals pubs are always divided into two factions, the friendly and the 'you ain't from round these parts'). Slightly different range of ales from many pubs, though some to be seasonal.
31 Dec 2005 17:17
Quite a few nice women here, but they tend to be here with their boyfriends so I would go somewhere else if you're serious about it all.
However lovely place. The only thing I regret about going here is ordering a San Miguel when I could have had a Budvar (only noticed when I'd ordered my drink and didn't have time to stay for another one)
26 Nov 2005 20:33
The Crown and Cushion, Waterloo
Think Nicklaus is being a bit sensitive to be honest. Seems like a bit of a locals' pub but not unfriendly let alone hostile.
The cash registers by the stairs show this pub has been around for a while. I like that about a pub. While trendy bars will always have their atmosphere, and I like that as well, nothing replaces a bit of history and tradition.
Seems like darts is the order of the day here, though I don't quite know what the system is.
Didn't have the Guinness served by the Irish girl but liked it nonetheless.
26 Nov 2005 20:26
Well I'm not impressed. Why do they make you wait for ages to be seated when there are clearly loads of seats? If it is to give them a sense of authority they should know better than to play such silly games.
I'm still going to give this place 5/10 on the grounds that the Guinness is good and that I was in too much of a hurry to really care about being seated (it is the principle of it I disagree with, not the situation).
Had the good sense not to try the food
26 Nov 2005 20:17
Does not seem like a gay pub to me though not the ideal place to pull whatever your sexual orientation as it seems to be rather empty.
However friendly bar staff, good beer and funny TV make it well worth a visit anyway
26 Nov 2005 20:10
The Hole In The Wall, Waterloo
A bit of a weird place. Walls are decorated with sick-as-hell cartoons by an artist known as Glen Baxter, and there's a mirror to remind you the name of the pub. Seems like a lot of people come here for a drink after work.
Very good for beer, with a wide selection of real ales, including the Young's beers and London Pride, all more-than-drinkable beers. A few I've never heard of, which is all the more reason to try them!
If nothing else, stop here for a pint. You won't regret the experience, esecially if you're an ale fan.
26 Nov 2005 20:04
Actually seems to be a very multi-generational pub. Whatever your age, you are likely to enjoy this pub, unless you are one of these people who try to start fights in which case you're wasting your time. This pub is too good for that. Sells Bass and IPA
11 Nov 2005 19:39
Some people have a strange idea of friendly. Maybe it's a case of getting used to it. The metallers who tend to frequent here act a bit more normal. Notorious locally for its live music on Saturday nights. Beer range a bit basic but it seems the music is what it's about
11 Nov 2005 19:26
Didn't notice many young girls here, mainly a middle-aged crowd. Seems a bit close-knit, but not hostile
11 Nov 2005 19:20
Do the Old Ford and somewhere like Yates actually exist in the same world? Not that I'm knocking chain pubs, but this is the kind of pub we could see more of - one with a bit of character rather than profit maximisation being the sole goal. The beer seems alright to me, maybe it has got better since mally last came here
24 Oct 2005 14:52
This pub is a typical Ember Inns pub - plays tricks with you when you look around for tables and find there are more than you thought. Is unique in that it has the hardest-to-find enterance I've ever come across. They are having a beer festival on at the moment so plenty to choose from. Don't think I would bother to eat here, given previous comments and it is a bit expensive anyway
24 Oct 2005 14:40
Has the quality of being a lively pub with an all-age mix. Bit of a lack of real ale but they do at least have a good Guinness.
24 Oct 2005 14:35
Seems to be a place that people of all ages frequent. Does live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, though seems to be on a 'start-when-we-feel-like-it' basis. Guess live music is like that in any pub though! The drinks: seems to cater well for wine drinkers. The beer range appears to be limited at first, but more on offer in the cabinet. Shows TV before the live music, which adds amusement to the atmosphere. Not really a brewery. Would be curious to know how this place got its name?
25 Sep 2005 21:35
Unclear about its opening hours. Slightly boring place st least in the early evening. Maybe more atmosphere later on. Least it has real ale here, the two main ones are JWT and Brakspear. Quite easy to get confused as they look similar
25 Sep 2005 21:29
Cosy place to read a paper and have a pint, but probably not very exciting later on. However the atmosphere is friendly and it seems like quite a sociable pub, which is a rare asset these days. Offers trips to Europe as well which seems quite cool
25 Sep 2005 20:07
Jolly, but not as jolly as the British Volunteer. Definitely an older persons pub, if you are looking to find people to lecture about contemporary music, you are wasting your time. Owned by Hop Back, brewers of the award-winning Summer Lightning, so well worth going for a pint.
18 Sep 2005 19:50
The British Volunteer, Weybridge
If you want to get drunk, try some Sussex Bitter. Entertaining reading material, but hope it doesn't reflect the views of the pub itself. Seems quite jolly here.
18 Sep 2005 19:44
Basically like a nightclub but open all day. If you've got any sense you don't go here for the beer
18 Sep 2005 19:33
Get Badger beer in a glass with the title 'Land of hops and glory', amusing play on words there. They show football here (albeit TV-in-the-corner rather than big-screen football) but you are not expected to be passionate about it. This even applies to The Football Quiz, maybe people are too absorbed in the silliness of it to get excited about it. They do get passionate about what they talk about here though. Slightly older clientele on the whole but younger people welcome, unlike some pubs in the area. Think people get to know each other a bit in here, as it seems like that kind of pub, but would need to go more often to be certain.
13 Sep 2005 01:30
Slightly different choice of reading material from other pubs. Some comedy thing going on on the 28th apparently
13 Sep 2005 01:17
Why do you have to have a passport for ID? Seems like most of the people here don't need it anyway though. Also seems like you need to be keen on football and proud of your country to fit in here.
13 Sep 2005 01:13
Beer range is disappointing, but I guess they have to sell what sells. The decor makes this palce interesting. In general, pretty much like Edwards and places like that
13 Sep 2005 01:08
The Leathern Bottle, Godalming
Not very multi-generational. Where do the younger people disappear to?
28 Aug 2005 20:31
Not very spacious here, but they show sport which is a plus. Also some uniqueness in its beer range with Doom Bar
28 Aug 2005 20:21
I like it here but I don't see much difference between how it was as Number 28 and how it is now!
28 Aug 2005 20:18
Meals may be cheap but the beer isn't! A 275ml bottle of Beck's will set you back about 2.65. Having said that the design of the pub is to my liking - nicely decorated and spacious room in the middle
26 Aug 2005 13:27
They seem to quite keen on Hobgoblin here. Don't know why since it's brewed by Wychwood but there you go! Seems like a good place for a pint and a paper, also a quiz here but they could be a bit more clear about when it stsrts
13 Aug 2005 16:09
Warm atmosphere here, albeit a bit festive for August. Naturally a lack of real ale as this is a bar rather than a pub, but you can't have it all.
13 Aug 2005 16:05
The Chicago Rock Cafe, Basingstoke
This place has the benefit of serving some decent non-alcoholic cocktails which is good when you want a bit of a break from the booze. Most pubs just seem to sell Coca-Cola and lemonade and all that, which isn't perfect. Music here is a bit mainstream, nothing wrong with that though. Think the floors must have improved somewhat in the last year or so. Either that or I'm not very sensitive when it comes to floors.
13 Aug 2005 15:55
The Maidenhead Inn, Basingstoke
Don't know why people seem to hate this pub so much. It seems like any other Wetherspoons to be honest
13 Aug 2005 15:49
The King of Wessex, Basingstoke
Bit more appealing than it looks. Seems like a locals pub but visitors are perfectly welcome.
13 Aug 2005 15:41
I get the sense this place is a bit tribal, everybody seems to know each other and stuff like that. They do seem to be more welcoming in here than in other traditional pubs though (I won't mention any names)
22 Jul 2005 18:08
Seems rather quiet here. Maybe there are more people at weekends? Fairly unique range of beers. The Butser seems to be the most popular.
28 Jun 2005 11:50
Seems like a good pub for playing pool. Surprisingly good choice of rock songs on the jukebox. Typical range of drinks: you won't get anything unique here but it is all good stuff.
28 Jun 2005 11:46
Didn't seem particularly welcoming at first, but gave it a try anyway. Atmosphere is alright once you get into the vibe. Beer is typical Young's stuff, nothing special but far from undrinkable. Live music on Thursday. Bar staff are absolutely gorgeous!
28 Jun 2005 11:43
Serves London Porter which is definitely a good thing in my book. Seem quite strict with troublemakers
28 Jun 2005 11:41
Why is it that some chains (like Wetherspoons) seem to be the same regardless of the town whereas others (such as RSVP and Yates) seem to differ enormously from place to place? This is one of the better Yates's in my opinion. The interior is nicely designed and sells an interesting range of drinks.
9 Jun 2005 18:15
Seems like more of an eating place. Not really sure why it's on here
9 Jun 2005 18:12
Am I right in thinking this pub is now called The Staff? Seems like a good pub for watching sport.
9 Jun 2005 18:08
I think he may be talking about the special condoms and fun inflatable sheep that appear to be prevalent in pub lavatories in Camberley. The door also makes a noise when someone goes in there, presumably for comic effect! Nothing special about the beers here, though they do a nice range of ales. Wetherspoons-style atmosphere
9 Jun 2005 18:05
If this pub is really was supposed to be that bad, then it's changed a lot over the past year. Thought it was quite friendly and far from empty though to be fair I didn't try the beer
9 Jun 2005 18:01
The length of service must have improved considerably since it was the Hogshead. It takes barely five minutes to get served here and that's when it's busy! Young's pub with the atmosphere of a Wetherspoons (this is a good thing in my opinion). Usual range of Young's beers. Seems like the entire pubgoing population of Leatherhead is in here
21 May 2005 22:16
The Edmund Tylney, Leatherhead
Typical Wetherspoons to be honest - beers are unique to the pub but atmosphere is much the same as anywhere. However I like the atmosphere in Wetherspoons so that is a plus point. Books to read here as seems to be the case in other parts of Surrey
21 May 2005 22:12
Good for atmosphere. Unique range of beers though I didn't try any of them - don't know if they are any good?
21 May 2005 22:09
A tad expensive at 3 for a Guinness. Seems to attract a slightly older crowd during the week but may be different weekends
22 Apr 2005 11:09
Bar staff are nice here, though there isn't a lot going on in this pub. Not as good as the nearby Cricketers
22 Apr 2005 11:07
Seems a little bit dreary here to be honest. Maybe it's better when they have entertainment nights, which are on quite often.
22 Apr 2005 11:05
Don't know why they claim to be selling Fuller's Hock when it is blatantly not in yet. They could make the schedule for their spring beer festival a bit clearer! However the atmosphere and the characters more than make up for it. Despite the disorganisation, this is my favourite pub in Dorking.
22 Apr 2005 11:04
They seem to have a farting tradition here. Fortunately it only takes place in the lavatories! Quite a nice atmosphere here. Good for watching football as well
8 Apr 2005 21:03
They serve Hurlimann here which I had never even heard of previously! It's a bit like Stella. Quite a cosy atmosphere. Maybe the weather outside made it seem better but I quite like it here
8 Apr 2005 21:00
Don't think this pub is worth bothering with if you're a young person, though they do seem to be fairly welcoming unlike certain watering holes in Guildford
8 Apr 2005 20:57
The Tickled Ivory Piano Lounge, Reigate
Seems to be over-21s now. A bit posh but I guess that has the advantage of creating a nice atmosphere. Would rather go here than somewhere like the Angel.
8 Apr 2005 20:54
Nice women here (in my opinion). Not much of an atmosphere but the beer is pretty good
8 Apr 2005 20:52
Seems like a bit of a sports pub. You'd think this pub would be too strict to be enjoyable but we managed to have an interesting conversation
8 Apr 2005 20:50
Is the music supposed to be jazz? To me, it sounds vaguely like hardcore punk. The kind that never caught on. Don't think much of the music, but the pub itself is ok.

Some characters in here. A bit like the Red Lion in Godalming, but I quite like that

Bit of a 'mature' kind of pub. Probably not many skateboarders come here

Not the most glamorous of pubs, but ok for a quiet drink

A pub with books in it is a good find. They don't appear to sell the Nigerian Guinness anymore but the Irish one is probably just as good!

Much better than the Plough in Guildford. They sell Pilsner Urquell and Black Sheep ale here, two very good beers. Good place to eat as well

Has the rare quality of doing Stones bitter. Reasonable prices. Occasionally holds charity quiz nights

Don't know when it's open. Reminds me of a pub in Ipswich near the football ground

Helps to be passionate about cricket here. Bit of an over 30s pub, though that doesn't mean to say younger people aren't welcome. Nice atmosphere and a good Guinness

Seems to be fairly easy to get seats on Sundays. Has the rare quality of serving Red Stripe. Atmosphere here can be a bit boring, and it feels a bit cramped. Overall it is ok though

Think fivepints could have a point, as there don't seem to be many people eating here. Nice atmosphere here and doesn't take long to get a beer midweek. People say this place is overpriced, and while it's a tad expensive at 3 for a Stella it's not nearly as bad as some of the other bars in Guildford. Worth giving this place a try, but I don't think I'd make it my regular pub.

The Guildford Hotel, Guildford
Is officially a sports bar. Tends to show football mostly. Also a good place to have a drink. It also has a unique selling point (business term for something that differs you from other businesses) in serving Murphy's Irish Stout, which is hard to fimd in pubs. Tastes like Guinness and very enjoyable!

Bar Zuka is now known as Mambo. Despite the change in title, it is much like it used to be.

Bar Mambo has been renamed the Voodoo Lounge and now hasan over-25s policy on weekends. During the week it is over-21s

Has been closed to make way for yet another restaurant. I have no idea why, since it was a decent pub. Maybe they'll convert one of the restaurants in Guildford to a pub to make up for it?

Thought there was a quiz here? Doesn't actually seem to exist. Fails the Guinness test but the Stella makes up for it.

The Red Lion, Basingstoke
Not one for the real ale drinkers: they don't seem to sell it here. However can't be faulted for atmosphere.
