| Seems a lot cleaner recently, staff are friendlier too. New evening menu of English Tapas is tickling my taste buds, particularly the potted crab! | Bit of an odd place. Come here pre-7pm and it's full of the blue rinse brigade. They then terrify them by playing heavy metal over the stereo and it turns into a trendy bar! | Firstly...a fine selection of ales! This is indeed a step forward and long may it last!! I visited The George on a Friday night and the place was full and buzzing! The music selection was excellent and got better as the night went on. Due to the fact that there are bouncers at the weekend the "buzz" was created by people of the right age which is a refreshing change to the many other sub-standard pubs in the area who simply serve alcohol to anyone. | Used to go to this pub a couple of years ago on a fairly regular Sunday brunch basis. Concur with comments re beers, generally interesting selection but I think the place has gone downhill a little. Despite banners plastered all over the place advertising waitress service till 3pm, that, as I found out wasn't the case and when food came it was mediocre and not really worth the money.
