At 7.30 on a Saturday evening the pub was full of pushchairs and toddlers jumped all over sofas. Not what you would expect inside a pub on a Saturday night. OK if you like drinking in a creche. The sour faced barmaid didn't understand the words Thank You or Please. Couldn't want to get out. Don't bother. What a dump. annonimouse - 10 Apr 2016 19:05 |
Just cannot understand Fullers undertaking a complete makeover in a street pub well used by locals. If this was in Kingston then fair enough. Major price hikes all round, selection of Real Ale has deminished and the place is now totally out of character with it's surroundings! A lot of the regulars have moved on and no wonder, all we wanted was a local community pub not a gastro bar serving stockbroker types. Barra - 14 Aug 2014 11:28 |
My first impression on returning after the refurb was that I was in a Notting Hill cafe. Lots of staff. Lots of colour. A bit larney. Dart board gone. Prices up and a bit of a surprise to find my packet of peanuts at £1 was now a £2 bowl of nuts. Lots of kids. Bit strange on a main road in the Surbiton outskirts. But - something had to be done to save it turning into apartments or Tesco Express. Not everyones cup of beer but give it a look in. I think Fullers have given the place a new life that will keep it going a few years. johnq2db - 27 Jun 2014 09:45 |
We want our old pub back. Completely ruined by the make-over! Alot of previous regulars have moved on and no wonder. Barra - 16 Jun 2014 10:12 |
Closed for three weeks for a remake. After the long serving landlords Brian and Tracey left, all the extras stopped including live music and the New Prince withered a bit. It is to be renamed the Prince Of Wales. Rumour says it will be radically different but in the pub itself, there is no indication of what is coming up! johnq2db - 19 May 2014 07:41 |
