| Real shame, but this place has gone right down hill since the team running it changed. Sloppy service, poorly trained staff and general lack of care has meant the regular patrons have left to drink in the recently opened Ogylivie. Bloke serving me drinks couldn't pour a pint of lager. Wasted 2x pints of froth as was holding glass too far away from spout. All he needed to do was angle the glass... I asked him how long he'd been working there - he said three months. | This pub has clearly seen better times and is a bit run-down. The (inevitable!) railway theme is well done, and the staff are friendly, but this isn't a serious ale place. When we went, there was only Doombar and one guest that they couldn't identify - "try reading what's on the cask" we suggested - the bar staff admitting they knew nothing about real ales at all. | Visited last Thursday after a curry. Bests pub in the street (not hard when you what else is there), but was surprised to be told it was last orders at 11.00 and we only managed the one before being chucked out. bilhat - 30 May 2012 11:44 |
| Tried it last night to watch the Chelsea match on TV. Doom Bar and Brain's SA were very presentable as was the pizza we ordered and the place was surprisingly ok. Woking town centre has a dearth of decent pubs but I'd probably visit again midweek. Friday or Saturday night might be a different kettle of fish though... beer_monster_smudge - 22 Feb 2012 10:56 |
