Went here a few months back and it has transformed, it was ill informed to go in the "old" Prince of Wales but this actualy is an improvement rather than a refurb that destroyed and killed off the soul of the prevoius incarnation.

It probably is the best, good feel to the place and a good team working hard.

As a regular visiter, I change my mind about this pub every time the only thing consistant about this pub is the food. pretty decent!
I have noticed the staff can get a bit ratty under preasure, beer can be average and someone needs to tell visitors theres more than one pub in Whitby don't all turn up at once.

Always nice to go in and buy a decent pint, sadly not as often as I like now as I have moved from Abingdon.
Liam has a nononsense aproach to keeping his beer. Michelle is very friendly, a great pub enviroment and as mentioned it may take a little time to get in the "Click" ( not all the bad)....what are you waiting for only another 15 years to go.

With some Wetherspoon pubs it feels a little artificial and full of kids drinking alcopops for a pound...with the Penny Black this is no exception, however as mentioned find a Sunday to Wednesday you can actualy enjoy yoursef in there.

Very quiet pub...shhhh plenty of polite clientele eating, it has a small area for the drinkers, has a small rear garden, nice polite place to go.

A bit of an atmosphere last time I went in to the Butchers it might be a one off!half the pub was full of 30 something lads spoiling for a fight the other half full of 30 something gals spoiling for a fight, otherwise a nice boozer.

Come here and sit on the balcony and get a great view of the Windrush valley, has a happy hour, large garden with childrens play area, two bars and restaurant area that can spill in to the bars...to the dismay of the regulars.

A heady mix of lads and ladettes larging ibiza style..just like me could do with a tart up, showing its age of decor for this sort of bar, very busy at the weekends.

It's what you call a real pub smokey full of real drinkers....warning to the pretentious this does not have chrome and cocktails.

As already mentioned, young pub but start out early to avoid hormonal teens and over zelous doormen, large rear garden.

Nice Enviroment if a little pushed for space, traditional with a upmarket feel with upmarket prices to match.
Has a nice courtyard area.

The Oak At Didcot, Didcot
Nice enough with a sports bar theme, could do more with the garden and for an out of town pub realy expensive ........maybe trying to claw the money they have spent on it although it was hard to see where.
