The Marquis of Granby, Fitzrovia
Quite acceptable imho ..... beer was good quite quiet .... ok
30 Jun 2009 15:07
A definition of the word " average" ! Could be so much better with just a little bit more effort ?
A positive is the amount of women who frequent the place ......
22 Nov 2008 10:01
Possibly the most expensive Fullers pub I've ever been in !!!!
22 Nov 2008 09:58
Great place to sit and have a good session ...we meet up with a load of mates from all over London and everyone agrees it's one of the best pubs they know ?
Recommended (and I'm from Pompey which is a long way to go for a beer :))
2 May 2008 12:06
Really unusual place ...great location well worth going to for a pint (or 5)
2 May 2008 11:54
The Harringay Arms, Crouch End
One of my favourite London pubs just up the road from girlfriends place....if I move up here it would have to be within walking (staggering)distance !
2 May 2008 11:49
Nice enough ...but Greene King have "overdone"
....was better previously ?
But is other half's local so can't say too much :)
2 May 2008 11:45
Must admit ...gets absolutley packed but a good pub !(that's why it gets packed out I suppose ?)
2 May 2008 11:38
The Stapleton Tavern, Finsbury Park
I think it's a good boozer ....music as well as beer ...what more could you want ?
2 May 2008 11:32

4 Mar 2008 08:42
The Assembly House, Kentish Town
Was supposed to be watching The Cult at the cinema (sorry Forum) up the road but the comapny (Chaz ...mmm) and ambience was too much !
26 Feb 2008 21:57
Considering the location...right opposite the castle a huge disapointment ! Typical plastic Beefeater style pub/Brake Brothers menu establishment.
16 Feb 2008 19:05
The Famous Virgins and Castle, Kenilworth
Was in the area on business - very nice would recommend to anyone who was coming to the area !
12 Feb 2008 22:05
Probably the best pub in the Waterlooville/Horndean area.....only one that's always busy
23 Jan 2008 14:46
Nope, Being refurbed now....rumour has it a "Sports Bar" so 2 TV's then ???
23 Jan 2008 14:44
Well if it was "a bit tired" in Feb you can imagine how it looks in Novemeber !!! Someone needs to spend some on the place ...it must be taking in the cash as it was packed on Sat afternoon despite it being tatty at best ?
12 Nov 2007 11:35
Really not thst bad at all ....food is good , beer is good ....barmaids v v good ...what more could you ask for ?
12 Nov 2007 11:33
On a Thursday community singing ...well kareoke ? Fills the place up nicely !
28 Sep 2007 13:08
Vast place with patio area at the back....nice place for a beer but needs lots of people in to make it look busy ?
3 Sep 2007 09:37
Really not that bad when compared to the local Gastly-Pub -sorry should be Gastro-Pub ....probaly gastro enteritis though...The Mason's Arms about 1/2 a mile away.....although The Ship is attached to a bizzare Lego built Travel Lodge at least you do get served and the food is edible unlike The Masons which can best be described as "pretentious but chav at the same time" !!!
Therefore a good rating !
31 Aug 2007 09:45
Plough....would like to see a bulldozer plough through it !!!!!
28 Aug 2007 12:40
Very interesting place with "varied" clientele ....needs a bit of tidying up 1
14 Aug 2007 14:14
Unusual to find a proper traditional boozer these days .....untouched by brewery chain mediocrity !
Excellent ....could become a museum when people think Wetherspoons et al are the norm !
14 Aug 2007 14:10
Great doorstep sarnies , Good beer (Black Rat Cider) only sullied by a miserable scouse barmaid whose attitude changed when Pompey beat Liverpool on Friday !
30 Jul 2007 16:42
Ok ....large 2 bar trad pub....small town with lot's of pubs so needs to be top of its game to survive ?
30 Jul 2007 16:40
Wetherspoons, Edinburgh Airport
What a load of tosh this place is ....even worse when your stranded at the place (Thanks Flybe - Most useless Airline Award 2007)
19 Jul 2007 17:05
The Original Plough, Chelmsford
Always found this to be an interesting place ....got some funny (ok odd) clientele but good selection of beers ?
18 Jul 2007 10:29
The Freemasons Arms, Covent Garden
V good central enough but not as manic as other pubs in the area ?
18 Jul 2007 10:24

Very Nice next to Yeovil Pen Mill Stn....popped in after Portsmouth FC had played at Yeovil....friendly customers and staff ....would visit again !
16 Jul 2007 13:01
The Bowl Inn, Lower Almondsbury
Overated....overpriced and down the bottom of a steep hill ?
29 Jun 2007 21:20
Well I've been drinking there for several years and as much as Enterprise seem to be unwilling to put their hands in their pockets in terms of decoration/updating...it's not actually that bad !
Looks like mass moaning from the OAP Lunch brigade ...if you don't like it you know where the door is !
Mark D
1 Jun 2007 09:02

Now has long overdue new management - well done Fullers about bloody time !
14 Feb 2007 23:32
Roadhouse more like Brick S**thouse possibly the worst pub in Covent Garden ?
Staff need training in a lot of the simpler things in life ...smiling, speaking etc...
Load of tosh ....avoid
2 Feb 2007 09:48
The Punch And Judy, Covent Garden
What a waste of potential ....shame really. Barstaff who can speak English would help...Poor !
2 Feb 2007 09:44
Good but packed ....the seating arrangements seem to have been designed by South West Trains ???
2 Feb 2007 09:42
Gordon's Wine Bar, Charing Cross
One of the nest places in London, if not the UK ...Unique !
2 Feb 2007 09:40
The Borough Bar and Dining, London Bridge
V V Average in these times where beer/vino is expensive and we have a huge choice ...need to get up to scratch asap ?
30 Jan 2007 23:26

Petersfield has an exceptional choice of dives for such a small town ...thankfully this is not one of them !
Recommended.......
27 Jan 2007 10:10
Souless - Abandon hope all ye who enter !
Gets a rating of 1 as it did contain beer !
24 Jan 2007 21:03

1 Dec 2006 13:29
Odd 50/60's built pub in the middle of Hazleton Estate (aka Bungalow land)...seems to have fair share of regulars but too far off the beaten track for most ?
1 Dec 2006 13:27
The Cock and Bull, St Peter Port
Should be used to train people who work for the awful chains like Wetherspoons etc.....a proper.proper pub !!
27 Jul 2006 23:50
Good food and a nice place - agreed overshadowed by The Withies down the road but still good on its own merit.
Harrowmans ploughmans excellent !
12 Jul 2006 16:08
Better than most of the Fullers (ex-Gales RIP) pubs ably managed by John D (who was also the best manager in living memory of The Ship & Bell, Horndean - next to the brewery).....packed every hour the sun is out !
Good range of food from snacks to full meals.
Well worth a visit if you can find somewhere to park ?
12 Jul 2006 16:05
Amazingly genuine pub considering it's location next to all the plastic , yuppie haunts in Bishopsgate.

23 Mar 2006 12:05
Not that bad (for Horndean)....seems to have attracted the local yokels who aren't allowed in anywhere else....sure they'll get barred from here soon ?

The Ramsnest Inn, Chiddingfold
Great pub on A284 just north of the village with French style terrace outside .
11 May 2005 14:28

Wouldn't let me in because I had camoflague trousers on ????
How could they see them !!!!
13 Apr 2005 12:13
Nicest pub in the village centre ....both Public and Lounge sides nice ....a real pub rather than the "plasticy" Red Lion across the square.....
They have Gales Festival Mild on draught sometimes .....worth avisit just for that !
11 Apr 2005 14:59
Good old fashioned pub with food - FA Cup was kept there during WW2
8 Apr 2005 09:31
Lots of new(scary)staff compared with a couple of years ago ....very much an "inn crowd" ...pun ? as the locals rule the roost....when I say local they all seem to live within 200 yards of the door.
4 Apr 2005 10:37
Much better than previous incarnation ...which was a shed !Also better than the other local'ish pubs Farmer,Green Dragon,Horndean village etc
4 Apr 2005 10:33
