Great Friday night atmosphere with a fantastic juke box which was turned up nice and loud by the lovely girls behind the bar (great choice of staff!!) Called in for breakfast the morning after and it was the best cure, ended up staying all morning as ladies behind the bar were entertainment in themselves. Regulars all friendly too, I'll definitely pay them a visit next time I'm in Chelmsford RRyder - 18 Jun 2011 23:34 |
This is a good pub if you ignore 2 factors, the first being the manageress and her sour face and her instant dislike to anyone she doesn't like the look of, and the barmaid Lena who likes to shout orders rudely at her staff and seems to make a lot of people feel uncomfortable by dressed like a 16 year old even though well into her 50s. It's definetly not a place you want to take your children, but the food is nice. miesl - 18 Jan 2010 21:31 |
Petethespy. I've heard of Grenada in the Caribbean but not of one in the Carebean. The Ship's menu must be fantastic if it can dream up dishes from unknown sources.....!! Unforgettable - 14 Nov 2009 14:26 |
I have been drinking at The Ship for over 8 years now and call in usually at early doors after work for an hour or two. A good crowd a regulars, and always good crack. On the whole the bar staff are on the ball and very friendly and chatty. Some of the real ales are OK and the Guiness is always very good. Must mention Debbie with her smile and "happy dimple", Andrea, Mark, Lena, Mike, Alison, Will, Alex and the Guv Grant. Oh, and the Chef Darren who does the best garlic King Prawans this side of Grenada in the Carebean. petespy - 12 Nov 2009 15:49 |
