Busy, waterside Fullers pub with lots of outside tables, some protected from the sea breeze by perplex screens - very good idea. Even had a small patch of synthetic grass and a few deck-chairs! Four ales available on this visit - Summer Ale, London Pride, HSB and the award-winning Seafarers Ale. Food was good with plenty of choice plus half a dozen specials chalked up. Can get very busy but worth trying. Mothroy - 26 Aug 2013 20:32 |
We stopped here on our back cycling from Portsmouth via Eastney to Havant. Having been to Sir Loin of Beef In Eastney this sort of pub comes as a big disappointment. The beers on were all similar styles, all very boring. Fullers do a stout and porter this time of year but you wouldn't think so. Very friendly barmaid but it's a proper choice of beer that would make me come back. Incidentally looked through the window of the nearby Royal Oak and bearing in mind beer choice didn't even go in. Pretty much the McDonalds of the pub world. Deep fried treats and tatooed lager louts aplenty. Fun can be had sitting outside and watching all the modified Saxos trying to negotiate their way out of the packed car park... boozerbill - 31 Aug 2012 18:07 |

Our favourite pub in a beautiful location. In the sunshine you can sit out by the water or in the winter you can sit by the open fire. The landlord and staff are all really friendly. The food is pricey but you always get a good meal, particularly the chicken curry! cheers1234 - 23 May 2011 19:43 |
