The Ferryboat Inn, Tottenham Hale
Looking for something to eat late evening and this pub was suggested.
They could certainly make more of there riverside location.
Service, unlike previous comments, I found to be helpful and polite.
Decent pint of Black Sheep bitter which when ran out I switched to Bath Spa (not as good as the Black Sheep).
Food was Ok and value for money.
I agree the decor was a little drab and the tables needed a good wipe down (sticky from previous occupants dinner) but on the whole nowhere near as bad as the comments below suggest.

Good choice of real ales.
Spacious pub with some comfortable seating.
Good food.
Patio area at the side of the pub where you can watch the world go by.
Busy in the holiday season.
Best pub in central Tenby for real ale.

The Station Inn, Pembroke Dock
Popped in while waiting for a train on a wet Friday lunch time.
3 real ales available.
Tried two, Croeso Pontyprid and the Beacons. Both in good condition.
Food looked good although I didn't have anything to eat.
Pub was quiet.
However, the staff were not very friendly and despite the sign on the door stating they closed at 2:45pm, I was asked to drink up and leave before 2.30.
This resulted in a 40 minute wait on a cold and damp railway platform.
Not very accomodating in view of the weather.
Will use the Flying Boat Inn when I'm next in town.

The Lord Louis, Stanstead Abbotts
Village High Street pub.
Large TV screen overwhelms the seating area.
Locals seem to block the bar despite not being many of them.
Only real ale Fullers London Pride.
Clean and the bar staff were friendly and very apologentic when problems arose changing barrels and we had to wait for a beer.

The Edmund Tylney, Leatherhead
Busy for a Monday evening.
Food was good value and tasty.
Good choice of Real Ale (5 draught beers on). and good value for money.

Very attractive flower arrangement outside.
Good choice of real ales (4/5).
I had a very nice pint of Doombar.
Sunday lunch time and every table had a "Reserved" sign on it.
So our group had to stand at the bar making it difficult for other customers to get served.
For that reason we didn't stop for a second (or third) pint.
Shame !
Maybe drinkers (non eaters) should have there own drinking area like the smokers !

Typical busy town centre (well nearly) Wetherspoons pub.
Big and spacious.
Good choice of beers/real ales (at least 6 on).
Bar staff very friendly and helpful despite being under pressure.
Had to wait over 30 minutes for food.
One or two punters a bit worse for wear.
Disappointing to see adults, with young children, playing drinking games.
Very clean toilets.

Spent a weekend in Teignmouth and popped in for a beer on Saturday night and ended up staying the evening.
Locals pub.
Friendly landlord, Ok pint of Sharp's Doombar.
Busy bar but were still served quickly.
Lively, friendly atmosphere with DJ and dancing.
Good middle of the road choice of music.

Ye Olde Jolly Sailor, Teignmouth
Good oldy worldy pub with several rooms/alcoves to suit all occassions.
Decent pint of Sharp's Doombar and also an excellent pint of the locally brewed Red Rock Driftwood from the barrel on the bar.
Taped music playing seventies hits in the background when we in on the Sunday evening.
Pool table in the back room.
Well worth a visit.

Having just spent a weekend in Teignmouth Of the eight pubs visited in the town I have to vote this pub the worst.
The only real ale was Sharp's Doombar which was on the turn.
The bar staff were not very friendly and the locals at the bar could only be described as menacing.
The meal deal (2 steaks for �10) looked good value but I for one wouldn't eat there.

St. Austell pub close to the railway station.
Seemed more of a locals pub than for tourists.
Tribute and HSD available on first visit over the weekend. Both pints well kept and acceptable.On two return visits just HSD available which is not ideal as a session beer at 5% abv.
Friendly landlady.
60's / 70's CD music kept us entertained during a lunch time visit.
Pool table at the rear of the pub.
Strong smell of bleach on one lunch time visit somewhat off putting.

Definately a food pub.
Good value menu with a wide choice of dishes.
Staff friendly and despite being busy, service was good.
Not much choice in the way of Real Ales.
I had the Old Speckled Hen which was acceptable.
Large outside area in the front to sit in.
Pub seemed to empty out very quickly once people had eaten.
Decor was a little shabby and dirty plates / glasses could have been cleared quicker.

Recently called in for a pint and a bite to eat mid afternoon.
Ok pint of London Pride, would have had the forty-niner but I was driving.
Staff friendly enough, and I was offered a try before you buy sample of a real ale,
We had two good value meals for �8.
Only complaint was that they took a while to arrive, not sure why as the pub was pretty much empty.
Barman talked a load of nonsense about real ales.
All very clean.

Spacious pub with plenty of seating.
Popped in for a pint early on Friday evening and was not impressed with the characters at the bar making inappropriate remarks to female customers.

Lovely beer garden when the sun shines.

The Crooked Chimney, Welwyn Garden City
Had a recent family lunch time meal. The majority of the meals were well received but sadly the roast beef I was served up was tough as old boots and the roast potatoes and veg were under cooked. The staff were very apologetic but sadly for me it left a damper on the visit.

As always, well worth a visit for a unique British pub experience. Sadly I was only in York for a couple of days and met the Private Party sign on the door early Friday evening.

The Pint of London Pride I had was OK.
Even managed to find myself a seat which is never easy in the City around Christmas.
Very popular with people standing outside.
Staff seemed friendly enough.

Good pub, well worth a visit if just for the lay out and ceiling.
Interesting balcony area to sit looking down on the City at work below !!.
Had a good pint of London Pride.
Service was OK apart from the food which we had to wait ages for (not for the first time).
The food was good if a little sparse when it arrived.

Typical Wetherspoons.
Looks like a nice area out the back to sit in the summer but not this time of year.
Cheap Beer and good selection of Real Ales.
I went on Steak night (Tuesday).
Food was actually not bad and very good value for money.
Staff not overly friendly.

The Ship Inn, Langton Matravers
Most welcoming village pub.
Looks to have been recently renevated.
Sampled 3 local ales, all well kept and enjoyable.
Good atmosphere and I had a very nice meal.
Excellent value for money.
Games available to keep customers amused on a cold and wet day.
Well worth a visit.

The Square and Compass, Worth Matravers
I've been looking forward to visiting this pub for several years.
I have to say I was disappointed.
I think its a victim of it's own success.
Too many customers !
Interesting serving arrangement with the hatch but it did take 10 mins queuing to obtain my pint of Palmers Copper Ale.
Fantastic fire place in the bar and interesting museum.
I will have to return when the pub is quieter.
One great advantage - No mobile phone signal. so no intrusive phone conversations.

Interesting village square pub with the castle ruins just outside the back door. I believe they have a haunted room.
Food was good although there was a delay between ordering and consuming.
Friendly staff who were more than happy to bring beers to the table.
Ok pint of Doombar.

Good pub with a lovely spacious garden with the steam railway along at the end of it.
Nice pint of Ringwood Bitter and the food looked good too.

Good selection of Real Ales in behind the bar barrels.
However, not the best Timothy Taylor Landlord I have ever tasted, and not cheap either.
Fantastic pub garden with its various assortment of garden furniture.
A very English way to spend a summers afternoon.

Good pub.
Good live band and friendly atmosphere.
Had a very acceptable pint of Goddards.
Bar staff, although busy, were very efficient and were served promptly.
Good location in the centre of town.
Outside tables to sit and watch the world go by.

Away from the town centre but well worth the walk along the sea front.
Nice pint of Bath Ales Gem.
Friendly staff who despite being busy, had time for friendly banter.
Menu/Food looked good although we didn't actually sample having already eaten.

Spent a weekend visiting the drinking establishments of Swanage and surrounding areas and this was, without doubt, the worst pub we came across.
Beer was undrinkable, barmaid rude.
Avoid at all costs.

OK pub with good selection of Real Ales.
Not the most welcoming of barman (assume manager).
Nice drinking area in the rear of the pub particularly when the sun shines.

Very friendly locals pub with a good selection of Real Ale and a good atmosphere.
Very nice pint of Ringwood Bitter.

Large pub opposite the common in Lower Ashtead.
Spacious outside drinking area and large car park.
Comfortable seating insid and the tables are well spaced out.
Sorry to read all the bad reviews.
I used to drink regularly in here but now only the occassional visit due to slow service at the bar. (Epsom Derby day last year was horrendous).
The Real Ale is average but the food offers good value particularly on the "specials" evenings and normally the food is good. .
However, I did complain about my food last time I was in to which the waitress listened to my complaint but nothing more was said or done.

Busy pub on the promenade.
Rather disappointed with the choice of beers, must have been a bad day from what I can gather from previous comments.
Food very good and the portions huge. You will not leave hungry !
The outside area was good but did attract the "smokers".
Good atmosphere.
Worth a visit.

Best pub on the Island for me.
Great pint of Old Bushy Tail.
Great barmaid who delivered the pint to my table with a smile.
Great location overlooking the Bay and the sun was shinning.
What more could one want ?

Good location for watching the horse trams turn around at the far end of the promenade.
Good outdoor seating area at the front of the pub with a good floral display.
OK pint of local beer.
Food good with good sized portions.
Toilets very clean.
Shame so many plates of dirty dishes left on the tables and not cleared away.

Popped in for a pint of Okells Bitter.
Nice pint well kept.
This pub is somewhat off putting from the outside but very much a traditional "man's" drinking pub inside.
Close to the quay and ferry port.
No food available but the manager did say we could bring in a sandwich to eat if we wished.
Locals friendly and helpful in pointing out other locations on the island to find a good pint.
If you like the old style drinking pub then stop in for a pint.

Large bar area upstairs with big screens.
Upon recommendation we popped in for something to eat downstairs.
I had the beef curry which was tasty but could have done with some more beef.
Staff very friendly and restaurant area very clean if the tables were a little too close together.
NO REAL ALE which was a disappointment.

Best pub for food I've found in York.
Portions are on the large size and competitively priced.
Sometimes difficult to get a table and the food service is not always quick, but well worth waiting for

The Yorkshire Terrier Inn, York
In my opinion the best of the Yorkshire Brewery pubs in York.
Lovely pint of Terrier Bitter.
Very friendly and knowledgable bar staff.
Very clean and welcoming and a very unusal layout with the shop front.
Good atmosphere and friendly clientel.
Will visit again when next in York.

Good little pub with a good choice of local Real Ales.
Just stopped for one pint so I chose the Guzzler which was only OK.
The pub lacked atmosphere, the staff said it had been a quiet evening.

Good pub where you can purchase a pint of Samuel Smith's Bitter at a very competitive price for Central London.
Sometimes difficult to get served at busy times.
Bar staff are not the friendliest but then they always seem busy.
The building architecture is well worth a second look and the large back room has small comfortable booths.

In need of modernisation, the pub lacked atmosphere (and customers) when I visited on a Saturday lunch time.
Staff friendly enough.
Real ale (2 pumps on) acceptable but had to ask for my beer to be topped up.
Food menu not inspiring but tasted OK.
Lots of potential as the pub is large, has a sizable car park and with a child friendly garden, could attract passing trade on the main route to Swanage.

Nice centrally based side street pub with three hand pumps in operation at the time of visit.
Good pint of Forty Niner.
Food good value.
Not so sure about the Friday night entertainment (Mr Tamborine Man) !!
But others seemed to enjoy it.
