Seven years since I was last here. Pretty much the same as then, with a range of Okell's and guest ales. The food menu (now??) seems a bit mainstream. Decent enough pun in a nice location. 8/10. wobblybob - 23 Jul 2017 00:15 |
This pub has a nice location next to the tram terminus. Although they don't appear to operate during the winter. The inside was well kept. It was quite busy early on Saturday evening. Many people were eating. We had to settle for a table at the rear of the bar. Okells MPA, Bitter & St Nick were the ales. Could have done with a better ale selection. But otherwise, a nice pub. blue_scrumpy - 5 Jan 2015 21:16 |
Nice to see that very little has changed in the past 15 years, when I last visited. Walked in and was made welcome by both staff and locals. The Okells was still as good as I remember it, the bar snacks arrived quickly and the trams still stop outside! seaeagle - 18 Apr 2012 14:35 |
Although wholly different in character, for reasons of ambience probably my favourite Douglas pub since the Corner House closed around 2008. Good beer and food too. _grobag_ - 12 Nov 2011 19:16 |
The beer was consistently good and certainly the best value, tasty pub grub we experienced in Douglas. When a certain young lady was directing traffic it seemed to function at its best. Very handy for the Tram Cranks!! JBGatelad - 24 Jul 2011 18:14 |
