user reviews of the Crumplehorn Inn, Polperro

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Always four ales on; Proper Job and Trelawny seem to be fairly regular. One day the other two were Tintagel's Castle Gold and Sir Lancelot. Five days later they were Tintagel's Cornwall's Pride and Harbour Special.

I must have been in at a similar time to Paul as the beers were the same.
Didn't fully enjoy the fish and chips, might have been the oil it was cooked in.
fugglehops - 25 Jul 2018 21:55
We had walked from Pelynt so it was time for our first pit stop after just over 2 miles! Ridiculously busy on Sunday (including an almost constant flow of taxis arriving) but still managed to get served quickly. St Austell's Proper Job, Trelawny and Proper Black as well as Rebel's Bal Maiden were the 4 different handpulls (maybe there were more) and although the cider was predictably from Cornish Orchards at least it was their 7.2% Vintage. We ended up here again later in the afternoon after completing our walk via Talland Bay. I'll venture to suggest that it's better than any pub in Polperro itself.
paul_d102 - 25 Jul 2018 20:32
Still the best choice of real ales in Polperro.
On the bar were: Fish Key's Hop 2 it, Harbour Special and Castle Gold both from Tintagel, along side Tribute and Trelawny.
Food is now unreasonably high priced, so settled for just a couple of pints instead.

fugglehops - 30 Jul 2016 16:02
Dropped in whilst waiting for the bus. Beer was good and included a new brewery in Looe. Very friendly bar staff.
addlened - 27 Apr 2016 11:55
I visited in hot sunny weather so perhaps that
influenced my opinion

I had crab sandwiches and Cornish cider ( yummy)

the prices were not so yummy, but I suppose the pub has to make
its money while the sun shines.
Leftinthepub44 - 27 Mar 2015 14:36
Better than i had expected as it is slap bang in the biggest tourist hell hole ever!

Conviently for a visit before or after a trip down to Polperro.

Inside it is pleasantly laid out with a nice feel to the place.

My only complaint would be our meal which was rather overbearing and the fish a little sickly.

7/10

The bus dropped us off outside this pub/hotel but we decided to wait till later to try it and walked down into the village first. A balmy November afternoon and nice and quiet without the hoards of tourists who come to this very attractive fishing village (not difficult to see why it's so popular). Anyway, back up the hill to catch the bus to Looe so we made time for some beer in the pleasant split-level bar. I had a pint of Tintagel Gold which was very good but the have others as well ( seemed to recall seeing Doom Bar) This is an hotel which also has self-catering and the bar does food most of the time by the looks of it. It is virtually the first building you come to when leaving the main car park (no cars in town in high season so you walk or take the "little bus train thingy"). There's an old waterwheel on the way in and outside seating and a small car park which I would imagine is for residents only. We caught the bus to Looe (nothing exciting there) came back and had some more beer before the last bus back to Polruan. The Crumplehorn is well worth a visit before or after your tour of Polperro (which must have more "holiday letting cottages" than any other place in the UK !!)
mcroyal - 16 Nov 2013 15:18
a lovely old building (parts of it are 14th century) and a lovely warm atmosphere when the place is full. nicely decorated with a traditional feel, and that pleasingly chaotic layout that old pubs have.

excellent local ales, i forget which ones now but a nice selection, and food was really good. nice big hearty portions and really tasty. plus the vegetarians in our group were well looked after with a refreshingly decent selection of veggie meals.

its only downside is its location. being right opposite from the main car park, and up at the wrong end of the impossibly beautfull village of polperro, makes you feel so near yet so far from polperros unbeatable charm. however it is onyl a 10 minute walk down to the harbour or a 1 minite 'tram' ride, so its no the end of the world.
CHELSEA_on_tour - 23 Sep 2013 13:56
A welcome change for a pub not to have Doom Bar on the counter. Cotleigh's Golden Seahawk, Barn Owl, Tintagel's Black Knight and Tribute made a good selection.
Meals are expensive but you will not go home starving.
Let down by limited parking spaces. The public car park opposite charge a minimum 4 for 3 hours, expensive if you only want a pint.
fugglehops - 8 Aug 2012 21:31
Welcoming to all more than touristy. Good beer. Good service. Ideal location . Frequent bus..so have another pint.
southfields - 14 Jun 2012 10:56
Beer first. Cotleigh beers in excellent condition. Friendly and clean pub. Don't be put off by its location (near the car park). Recommended. 8.
musicrab - 18 Sep 2011 10:12
Good selection of ales and very friendly staff. Bit touristy but that's what supports the economy in these parts. Could have offered some cider from some of the smaller local producers though.
nobbythesheep - 21 Aug 2011 19:40
Very busy Sunday lunchtime but managed to get the last table.
Still a good range of beers: Mr Murdock, Black Prince, Sharp's Own, Tribute and Trelawny, all about 3 a pint.
Good Sunday roasts at 7:95.
Friendly bar staff but the "boy" waiter was a bit quiet - apart from the odd grunt now and then.
fugglehops - 14 Aug 2011 21:41
nipped in on the way back to the carpark at about 2pm. friendly staff, a good array of ales and all seemed well kept. any comments around it being touristy, well im a tourist as probably are the readers of beer in the evening reviews and i shall be booking 4 days of my hols next year to stop here. ideal location and a good choice of local pubs to visit, well thats what the staff said!
ohmygoodnight - 23 Jul 2011 17:41
The guy below must have got the wrong pub. Excellent food, well kept ales and friendly service. The best in the area by far
realaleman10 - 30 May 2011 16:21
Least friendly pub I have ever been to. Avoid.
romer1342 - 15 May 2011 18:16
Stayed here last year and were so impressed with everything, we went back for another 2 week stay this year. The Accomodation is comfotable, clean, and very spacious, the food is amazing, and the selection of beers, wines and Spirits, is something you would only expect from a much larger establishment, and the regular live entertainment is not bad either. The Owners Allan and Sonja, are very friendly and cannot do enough for you , and always willing to go that extra mile. The Bar Staff are all very friendly knowledgeable, and efficient, as are the Waiting Staff. It can be a very busy establishment, but if you have the time to wait you will always be served, and you will not be disappointed. Some complain about the time you have to wait on meals being served after ordering, but if you want the best fresh products freshly cooked, I'm sure the selection of local produced Beers and Ciders will keep you well amused till the food arrives. Just make sure you're hungry, the portions are not sparing, but remember to leave space for the sweets, which are all made on site (They are all to die for). We did not eat here every day of our holiday, we tried other places in Polperro and Looe, but The Crumplehorn Inn was without doubt the best, so if your looking for accomodation, a meal or just a pleasant drink and atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.
albajim - 24 Aug 2010 11:05
There is no pasty in my user-name so this is an unbiased review.
It made a nice change to see some different beers on the bar other than the usual HSD, Tribute, Tinners and bloody Doom Bar that you get in 99% of the pubs in Cornwall.
Here I sampled St Austell's Honey Monster, Black Prince and Kelteks Mr Murdock's Golden IPA.
Food prices range from roughly 8 - 12, but you do get large portions. All four meals were hot and tasty although I goofed on choosing the cottage loaf pie. I hadn't expected a whole loaf of bread on my plate!
fugglehops - 19 Aug 2010 20:36
it's at no1 now, so you can get even more irate, ghosty
littlecon - 17 Aug 2010 14:40
The last recommendation for this place was in March?
And yet it's 2nd in the top 40!
This sites a joke.
FARTINGGHOST - 14 Aug 2010 19:51
I can assure you that I have nothing to do with pubs other than enjoying a good pint. "just a jealous competitor" You need to get your own house in order first before accusing others Mrs Mill.
ThePastyHunter - 15 Mar 2010 15:10
This is a great Cornish country pub. The food is excellent and the beer is superb. Oh and the bar is nothing like a commercial hotel bar and prices are what you would expect from a quality pub. Pasty hunter is just a jealous competitor..
pastyfoundit - 7 Mar 2010 00:24
Perfectly positioned for the tourist traffic, but also keeps a decent pint...the usual Skinners/St Austell suspects.

Found the welcome very friendly, all in all a worthy pit stop!

nuckster1511 - 23 Feb 2010 20:58
Hard to believe that this pub has a higher rating than the superb Blue Peter a few hundred yards away.
Pat_Bateman - 16 Feb 2010 09:25
Olde world charm with friendly service and excellent beer and food. Surprised to read previous comment as we found the prices the lowest amongst the pubs we visited. As a Camra member I can also confirm the beer is kept well
donnyo - 16 Feb 2010 09:13
Sooooooooooo commercial. The owners seem to think it's a hotel with abar rather than a good old pub. Shame. The beer isn't too good either and the prices are very HIGH - especially the food.
ThePastyHunter - 15 Feb 2010 23:00
great food and great ale the best of the bunch
Another60skid - 12 Sep 2009 11:02
Good ale in a nice pub. Sat outside chatting to other emmits and enjoyed the atmosphere. Did not eat here so can't comment but the booze and the ambience were fine..

sampig - 5 Aug 2009 14:10
only had the one as driving wished I had walked and had time for more. great choice spotless clean pub and excellent pint of Skinners Betty Stoggs award winning ale. reccomended
roblord - 10 May 2009 21:26
I reviewed this pub a couple of years ago and I am pleased to report the Crumplehorn goes from strength to strength. Alan and Sonja manage to combine a pub with an impressive selection of cornish ales and a relaxed dining experience with great food. Over the weekend they offered ale from four cornish breweries at the same time, notably Skinners, Sharps, St Austell and Keltek. Mr Murdochs IPA from Keltek was my tipple of the day and it was in excellent condition.

We sat on the patio in the sun on Sunday afternoon after a superb roast dinner, enjoying a drink and watching the world go by. Heaven.
dagenhamdave - 15 Apr 2009 18:03
The tourist pub next to the big car park, tip top all the same.
slerpy - 2 Mar 2009 16:34
nice pub visited during the summer, parking is a headache, but beeer fine food ok,barstaff could do with a wash though,
anonymous - 23 Oct 2008 09:43
Visited cornwall to visit my dad , did a lovely pub crawl of looe, polperro, and surrounding areas , found some great pubs , tried all sorts of ales and got rather merry , didnt particularly like this place , found the pubs further down to be better "pubs" . we wer'nt looking for a dining experience , just a good boozer. still better than some I have visited
kiwiphil - 21 Oct 2008 19:59
Somehow, the Crumplehorn didn't seem quite so good on my recent visit - I can't put my finger on why, though. A great choice of beers, but the chips served with our food seemed as though they were last nights unsold ones from the Chip Ahoy! Maybe it was an off day.
nigelrowe - 9 Oct 2008 13:15
personally biker- I think you are talking rubbish. The registering of 'new' users on this site will always increase in the summer months when people have been on their holidays and found pubs to their liking or otherwise. This pub earned its place in the top 10 during the summer months. I would say that this is the case with many other top 10- BITE pubs. I wouldnt think anyone could actually be bothered to multiple register to 'up' or 'down' a pub. You prefer the Blue, so do others, but dont knock the Crump for its success even if it is tourist success. we offcomers do know our ales you know and this pub keeps a good cellar. Worth a visit.
Cleggy - 3 Oct 2008 19:27
Tried a couple of pints here before taking the coastal path back to Looe. Was impressed with the proper job and the betty stoggs. Friendly service and excellently kept beer, a far cry from most of the pubs i visited in Looe. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Definitely worth a visit.
spookyhead - 12 Sep 2008 21:41
i believe the parking at the crupmplehorn is for residents, and not customers. i may be wrong on that one though.it does get very busy at mealtimes, and if the weather is not good it can be quite difficult to get a table sometimes as the outside seating cannot be used. but for the size of the place there is quite a lot of seating. When i went with my family one sunday, the landlord found us a table, and even asked if a couple would mind moving to a smaller table so that our party of five could be accomodated. As sunday seems to be one of their busiest lunchtimes i was pleased that we could get a table so quickly. and the new rattler pear cider is well worth it (although one too many may send you a bit squiffy!!!)
beerslops - 13 Aug 2008 12:56
I made a point of visiting The Crumplehorn during my holiday in Cornwall as it was the Number One BITE pub for a while. I unfortunately was driving but was unable to park in the pub car park as all reserved spaces. We instead had to park in the big pay car park on the opposite side of the road. Not a good start to the night.

A nice selection of ales of which there were four and all Cornish. The choice on our visit was Skinners Spriggan Ale, Sharps Doom Bar, St Austell Tribute & Proper Job. The beer is served in the pubs own branded glasses. We were all hungry and knew it did food as had read the GBG review before. We were then confronted by many reserved tables. In the end we asked which I guess was the landlord if we would be able to eat tonight. He assured us we would but may have to wait about half an hour. He was true to his word and we were led to a table. Other pub branded items on the table including table mats and beer mats. Quite a selection of food on offer in the menus and also on the daily specials board. The food was good however they did accidentally mess up my partners food order. Her vegetables arrived after she had nearly finished her food. My partner was also not particularly happy with the big dish that her lamb shank arrived in. I think she presumed all her food would be on the same plate. The other three meals our group had were enjoyed.
Love_good_ale - 6 Aug 2008 20:12
Always remember staff/management a cheap advertising campaign can come back and bite your bum!!!
Going by my learned friend the Blue Peter will be my first port of call, but will visit you as i want to see what the advert is all about.
Beersupper - 2 Aug 2008 12:48
always our favourite when we visit polperro
welshrugby - 1 Aug 2008 00:21
An excellent pub with well kept real ales and very good food.
franklampard1 - 29 Jul 2008 09:26
We always come here for our lunch at least once when we holiday on the north coast in Bude. It is a fair drive but worth it. The food is always good and the real ales are exceptional. It can get very busy at times but that is all part of the success of the pub I suppose
nutcrunchy - 28 Jul 2008 19:46
We stayed in Looe for a week and were recommended to come here for an evening meal. I sampled the Tribute, Doom Bar, Proper Job and Black Prince ales (all were in excellent condition) and we also tried the Rattler cider (a sparkling scrumpy). Be careful of the Rattler as it doesn't taste 6 per cent. We had a really nice dinner outside on the patio and just watched the world go by. What a splendid way to spend an evening.
One word of warning if you come to Polperro from Looe book your taxi back otherwise you might get stuck here for an extra hour or two. Oh what the heck just stay and have another pint.
donnyo - 27 Jul 2008 17:25
Dear Uncle Alan and Auntie Sonja.
Having a lovely time here at the Crumplehorn Inn website where it says we are currently the top pub in the country.
The place is spotlessly clean and very popular having attracted 50 ratings in the past 2 months alone. Its great smashing super publicity.
Wish you were here.
Lots of love Harry the Dogger (retired).
PS
Hold on a sec I think the manager wants a word.
Harry_the_dogger - 27 Jul 2008 13:51
One of the best pubs I have ever stayed in. Food is fab and cheap, the steak and fresh fish to die for.
Staff incredibly warm and friendly, you don't want to leave. try a Cornish Cocktail there (half pear and half apple cider!) You'll know it when you have a few, don't worry, you can stay there the night afterwards, the accommodation is very ample and very clean.
buster30 - 25 Jul 2008 15:55
This is a great pub, has live music regularly, service good and nice traditional decor, only problem with this is as its popular some times difficult to get a seat!
nicnocs1 - 24 Jul 2008 08:55
We have just returned from a week in Polperro and have to disagree with the previous reviewer who appears to have praised other pubs for thier food yet claimed the Crumplehorn is a restaurant not a pub. A bit ambiguous I would say. We stayed in Polperro for a week and ate here 5 times. This is for sure a pub, but a pub that serves food better that any restaurant around. The atmosphere is of a pub and you have to order your food at the bar so I am not sure why you think it is a restaurant. There was a choice of 5 real ales and 3 lagers (and other draughts) what restaurant would give you that? The bar staff were excellent and the waiting staff had a laugh with us. I am not someone who writes reviews of places but we saw this website in the Crumplehorn and as they gave us a holiday to remember I thought I should have my say. wonderful place.
charlember - 16 Jul 2008 00:58
Food good, beer good, but a pub it ain't !!This is a Restaurant that serves beer !! No more no less.
jono194 - 14 Jul 2008 21:51
just had a week in Polperro and Looe. tried this pub as saw the reviews on this site. Great pub, excellent beers. One of those that everyone must try sort of pubs. Friendly and spotlessly clean.
suetpudding - 13 Jul 2008 21:45
Excellent beers, St Austell, Sharps and Skinners and a good choice for my teetotal wife
johnandpet - 12 Jul 2008 17:10
The beer is well kept and just about the best you'll find (Dark Prince & Proper Job are superb..!), we went there most days.

The Sunday roast is exceptional and is not to be missed...!!

Very dog friendly too, which is a bonus.
thurne - 7 Jul 2008 21:03
At the top of the hill is this fabulous old pub, lovely beer garden, really welcoming bar in winter{and wet summer days!!!) Great food and drink.
Badger350 - 30 Jun 2008 22:52
We were on holiday in Polperro and called in the Crumplehorn on most days for a beer or two. The pub has a beer garden which we made good use of. Either siting under the trees next to the river or under the patio heaters if the evening became chilly.

The real ales are exceptional - best pint of Cornish Cream I've tasted. Their food is good too - just try the fish & chips.

The landlord and staff are pleasant and always served us with a friendly smile.

Can't wait to go back.

Tone_ - 30 Jun 2008 17:51
Very nice pub. Good outside area and first class ales. Very nice food and our toddlers were made welcome in the dining area. Friendly landlord

Stayed in Looe last year on Holiday. Visited several times. I highly recommended this place to anyone in cornwall to visit.
davethebeerdrinker2 - 17 Jun 2008 19:50
Great pub, good food, good beers, ciders are exceptional.
bettystoggs - 15 Jun 2008 10:41
Superb beers. Good atmosphere and friendly staff/landlord. Try this one for yourselves.
davelees - 14 Jun 2008 09:14
I like this pub. It has great outdoor space. I would say its more an eating than a drinking pub which is ok. Didnt try the food but looked good. Excellent beers and ciders, thougoughly reccomend it.
cornishcream - 13 Jun 2008 20:39
a really nice pub, olde worlde and large seating area outside, which is great in the summer! staff are really friendly, and food is very nice. Only thing that i can comment on is that it is quite expensive, although their location seems to compensate for this,as they get a lot of custom! well worth a visit.
beerslops - 29 May 2008 19:14
Like all the pubs in Polperro this one has to serve food to make a living. The food was okay for pub grub. this one it is probably the best of the lot for space and sitting out areas. Live music, friendly staff and keeps a good ale.
hellsbelles - 14 Apr 2008 22:20
Food excellent.Beer excellent especially the Proper Job.If you fancy a game of darts challenge the landlord.Dogs allowed in lower bar.
reelaleboy - 14 Apr 2008 21:22
Very inviting pub! Great food (try the Cornish meat and cheese combo, quite fantastic) and great beer in a great location. Staff very welcoming.
pistolpetebingay - 12 Apr 2008 21:24
Nice outside areas and do a great Sunday roast!
alemart - 31 Mar 2008 21:21
Visited this pub in the summer we had a meal and a couple of Drinks.Food was good and the ratler cider went down a treat.
rich1108 - 27 Dec 2007 20:56
Simply the best pub in Polperro,as a sometimes lone lady in the bar area i was treated with curtesy and respect by the wonderfully sexy funny head barman Franco who also performs excellent magic tricks for the children. The DoomBar was the best i have had, cool and smooth. Alan and Sonja the proprieters are both hard working ( perhaps too hard working they looked knackered) and friendly and take a genuine interest in their customers welfare.
The flat i stayed in was well furnished and breakfast was fresh and hot although i would have liked to have seen some fruit to choose from as a low fat option to the cooked breakfast and cereal/yoghurt on offer. but this is a very minor moan. I loved the Crumplehorn and all the staff, the chefs are very friendly too and boy can they cook, the scrumpy chicken is my all time favourite try it when you next go you won`t be disappointed. I am returning for New Year and cannot wait.

Blondie64 - 31 Aug 2007 18:57
Friendly pub with excellent bar staff. Its a bit foot oriented, but I did have my best pint of the week when I stayed recently in Polperro Skinners Spriggen. Food is also reccommended especially the fresh fish dishes.
HoppyImbiber - 12 Jun 2007 14:06
A great pub to eat, drink and stay at. The ales are always in top condition and food fantastic, quality chef produced from local ingredients. Normally four local real ales available, my personal favourites being Doom Bar and Tribute. If you like cider try the Rattler, delicious. Friendly bar staff, especially Franco, and owners Alan and Sonja always working hard to make your visit a good one. Accomodation first class with parking. Occasional live music a welome addition to the mix.
dagenhamdave - 20 May 2007 21:51
Visited here last year while in Looe.
Ale and Food were good, very family friendly
blackwolf0578 - 13 Sep 2006 14:04
Nice pub did not try the food but the beer was in good condition. The old mill wheel is still turning.
Personally I would rip up the carpets and use the original floor.
trekman - 24 Aug 2006 13:17
Stayed here for a few days recently, excellent accommodation my flat (No 7) was enormous and very clean, good parking for guests, beer was well up to standard although I'm no expert, the bar area was quite small and concentrated more on food, but there is a very large garden area. Food portions were big to say the least, and the breakfast superb.
Just a short walk from the village and harbor, but on the right side of town Alan and Sonja although very busy could not have been more pleasant and helpful.
If your looking for a great place to stay in Cornwall the this is it.
By the way, If you are a mobile phone freak make sure you have Orange nothing else will work......
simmel - 15 Jun 2006 15:38
IOn nview of all the elow listed comments felt i had to visit this pub. It is prety good but not worthy of gushing praise. The pub itself consists of a top and bottom bar which are linked by an open stair. the top bar has a no smoking area which is extremely handy if you are eating. The lunch time menu was little better than standard pub fare although I have to say the portions were generous and the food value for money. The evening specials board looked more appetising but if you're not serving this food during the day, why leave it up to emphasise the ordinary nature of your lunch menu? The choice of 4 Cornish ales was very good and the two that I sampled were both well kept and well served. At lunch time, probably worth a detour but not a major one. If I ever go back in the evening I'll let you know....
Joe_Cundy - 20 Mar 2006 16:15
Visited again recently - looks like they've changed it a little. The food's not as magnificent as it was but the atmosphere is still warm and cosy and the drinks are very fine indeed. Especially a pint of Betty.
londinieres - 10 Feb 2006 13:47
Remember this pub when Roger Childs was at the helm. He's now an ordained Bishop so doesn't have much time to enjoy real ales (sorry! didn't mean to bash the bishop).

Great pub although there is a shortage of totty!
jameshunt - 17 Jan 2006 14:57
The colder the night, the warmer the welcome. Full of character on the inside and the outside, The Crumplehorn Inn is a pub for all. Tasty guest ales to choose from and the food there is some of the best I've ever eaten, the choice of which is matched by superb value."
londinieres - 5 Jan 2006 17:21
Hi Nigel

Thanks for your comments. My wife and I are the new owners of The Crumplehorn Inn. We have gradually been updating the menu's etc and the only item that still refers to the previous owners is the breakfast menu which we will be changing shortly. I hope you enjoyed your stay with us and will visit us again soon.
We will be serving HSD from the middle of October and intend to offer a constant varying choice from 4 real ales throughout the winter period.
alanc - 24 Sep 2005 15:01
Now under new management since my last visit. We stayed here for three nights. Comfortable accomodation and the pub itself still really good. The ubiquitous Sharp's beers are in evidence (why is St Austell HSD so hard to find in the free trade - massively superior IMHO to Sharp's Revenge)and St Austell Tribute - so much tastier than the poor (again, IMHO)Sharp's Doom Bar. Great food still. There is still much reference to the previous owners on menus etc. which is misleading.
nigelrowe - 19 Sep 2005 15:00
As landlord of the Crumplehorn Inn for the last 17 1/2 years prior to 3rd May 2005, I would like to point out the the number of menu items has remained fairly static over the years. The Specials Board has been in operation since 1998. There are guest beers on an occasional basis, and during the Polperro Music Festival 5 or 6 beers on a rolling schedule which includes Scottish beers. The Sharps Revenge is a superb beer, is exclusive to the Inn and a top seller.

The accommodation _is_ impressive, and I spent a great deal of money increasing the standard to what modern-day guests now expect. The Inn offers both self-catering and bed and breakfast for up to 8 guests.

The new owners, Alan and Sonja have a new chef and even more complex menu which is a real credit to them as the Inn is their first venture into the licensed trade. The vegetarian selection is particularly impressive, and the new sandwich menu is yummy!

Although I am obviously VERY biased, it is IMHO the best pub in he village :>)
AD_Taylor - 23 Aug 2005 18:25
I visited this pub yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see that along with new owners comes a more varied menu than the last time I visited, together with the introduction of a fine specials board.

The general ambience is one of friendliness and relaxation and I was particularly impressed with the Sharpe's Revenge.

I met some guests at the bar and they couldn't speak highly enough of the accomodation so I think I shall be heading back very soon.
bainers - 12 May 2005 15:36
Also serving very good food.
Nigel - 21 Sep 2004 10:58
A fine establishment serving two real ales (St Austell Tribute and Sharp's revenge on my visit -range does change though).
