Latest Wye Valley Brewery Pub. Taken over the name from the old "Morgan" on Worcester Road. Obviously normal Wye Valley brews on: HPA, Wye Valley Bitter, Butty Bach & Dorothy Goodbodies Autumn Ale. Nice comfortable pub with A BAR BILLIARDS table. Vast improvement from the old "Cavalry"

The Anderson, Fortrose

Well holburnboy I have been to over 5000 pubs in the UK including over 300 in Scotland and I think it is ONE of the best. Jim Anderson is passionate about beers and brewing, about wines and about Malts. The dining room is a little gloomy but I certainly did not feel underfed on any of the 3 nights I ate there. I was made to feel most welcome in the Public bar (not always the case for a Sassenach in Scotland) and I found the bedrooms clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. I will definitely revisit

The Old Inn, Gairloch

Agree mostly with previous vistor; lovely old pub with a good selection of real ales. The food looked good and reasonably priced but 92 for Bed & Breakfast! In a pub?

The Lamplighters, Shirehampton

Previously visited in 2003, shame to see it in this condition. Considering it's position, let's hope something can be done with it.

29 Apr 2010 19:13

The Bell Inn, Welford on Avon

Agree with previous; it does appear to mostly cater for the food trade but the beer I had was good (Hook Norton, Hooky Best) BUT 0-95 for a bag of crisps!
Thanks but no thanks. Shame as nice building and the proper food looked good if a little expensive (for my budget)

I did have a very good pint of Bass and free crisps! Barmaid efficient but no seaview from bar as it's on the side. Worth a revisit.

The Coastguard Inn, St Margarets Bay

Only the location raises the score. Poor service (nobody behind the bar for 5 minutes; could have poured a pint, drunk it and left & no-one the wiser. Then they had the cheek to ask if I was waiting! The beer was not worth waiting for. Will not be back

20 Sep 2008 09:10

The Theobald Arms, Grays

Yes the landlord did bang on a bit about the beers but I did start the conversation! The beers were good and the pub OK. Maybe I'll try the White Hart next time

20 Sep 2008 09:03

The Triangle Tavern, Lowestoft
