What a cracking little place. The pub building is the station house, for a railway that was never built, thank goodness! A beautiful part of the world, and a fitting pub to relax in after a days walking or playing tourist. No food, a choice of one real ale (always served straight from the barrel) and as said before, conversation and watching the fire, the only entertainments! Such a lovely and unchanged building, it certainly deserves its place on CAMRA's national inventory of historic pub interiors.. and it is one of few pubs in the UK to have been in every single year's good beer guide since the 1970s. Go visit, its worth the drive (or the walk). alistair_cross - 20 Sep 2009 19:29 |
A real find. Unchanged and unspoilt. Conversation is the only entertainment-(Thank goodness) Good beer too! Pathetester - 1 Apr 2007 14:16 |
A gem - unspoilt and unchanged. Beer (real ale, of course) is served from a hatch in the panelled entrance hall. Be aware opening hours can vary (not usually open weekday lunchtimes). Brian Reader - 2 Jul 2006 19:01 |
