May I just say that the above posts are very dated and that I had a meal at the Red Lion a week ago and found the beer ,food and sevice second to none.It was a warm welcome and i would recommend this place to anyone who likes to dine in a place where the staff and management commited to the customer. It is also child friendly. Well done Red Lion. sasboy777 - 9 Nov 2011 13:26 |
My wife and I called in the off chance looking for some where to celebrate new year. What a find! The landlady was very welcoming and they had even put on a free buffet which was very nice. The pub was really busy and had a great atmosphere. Thanks to all at the Red Lion, and we will see you again soon. bobandsarah32 - 1 Jan 2009 23:06 |
Really good pub, just a shame that the business strategy is simply to attack other local pubs and not stand on their own strengths... Note the previous poster praises also attacks that New Inn, which is in fact "Flavour of Herefordshire's Pub of the Year 2008" and the Manager is superb... Good Luck to the Red Lion... nigelmaud - 23 Dec 2008 23:31 |
A fantastic country pub, real ales, lovely food, open fires, pub garden and even a caravan site. The pub Apparantly has had a chequred history over the last few years but new owners took over as of 17th december 2008, Leanne and Aaron Simms who are both well known chefs in the area. The mixed grill is to die for not enough pubs include black pudding on their mixed grills anymore! Also one of the best tasting pints of Wye Valley ale I've ever had they must be doing something right!!!! Fab fab fab!!!! rmhmthai - 21 Dec 2008 18:45 |
