The Angel, Woodbridge

A pub that tries to improve, get a warm welcome with decent beer shame it`s quiet during the week. Food is ok but not cheap for a pub at woodbridge.

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

Just a quick note still ok beer but bar snacks have been reduced in size a bap or 1 small roll with a little greenery looks so small it`s taking the mickey, much better snacks down the road at the Dove.

The Royal George, Ipswich

Improvement on previous pub now it`s a flamming grill buisness, some of original staff still left. Overall there should be more staff but besides that it`s a good experience visiting the pub, there is just two pumps of real ale so minimum marks on beer choice.

Robert Ransome, Ipswich

Third time in November I have been short changed at this pub when buying a pint without a receipt, be careful as last time it occured on Thursday 1 Dec it was not a mistake. Shame

The Kings Head (Low House), Laxfield

What a great experience the low house is, been a pub/inn for nearly 500 years and you can see why. Beer is straight form the tap room with barrells all around there is no bar so like it should be. Food OK but please go when they have the beer festival in August 30 plus beers cant wait.

The Brewery Tap, Ipswich

This place was Cobbolds old house they were the great Ipswich brewer who owned the football club and several hundred local pubs, the house was bought and turned into a pub well sort of, to give a feeling of age they took the plaster of a 1900s wall and took the plaster board down to expose 2 by 6 joists. This so called pub has people who tie there jumpers around there waist who pay 15 plus for a for pieces of seafood you can get from a supermarket for a couple of pound. Some people may like it or dont understand what a fraud this house is, no way is it a pub it fails in so many ways.
If you like drinking in a building site then so be it, I dont.

The Farmhouse, Kesgrave

Owned by Green King so should have a good standard which it has but staff change almost weekly with just a manager on show a couple of times a week. Beer is very poor with Abbott and IPA on tap so poor score here, food is reheat which typical of a hungry horse.
Nice in the summer sitting outside so price wise ok but let down by Beer strange as it`s owned by a brewer that does some of the best beers.

The Fountain, Tuddenham

If you like 60s school canteens you will just love this place but if you like a country pub you will hate it. Completely spoilt by small tables which are low and sticky, food is ok but very pricey for a canteen. Beer is ok if you like bitter from the tap at 3.60 other than that there is no choice, nice garden overlooking a fence and hedge, seems to attract yuppy sorts strange as this is a village pub.

The Barley Mow, Witnesham

Very original pub was featured by Giles in his cartoons, you see what you get. Beer good with friendly service little food served.

29 Nov 2011 16:02

The Salutation, Ipswich

Town pub is OK but lots of room for improvement, tables small and tacky, service slow with small portions, Beer ok but little choice.
Price is to high for a pub of this standard

29 Nov 2011 15:58

The Cricketers, Ipswich

Weatherspoons Pub is OK, bit tired but typical chain pub dont expect personal service when you are paying these prices. Real ale not bad 5 taps on the go.

29 Nov 2011 15:51

The Bell, Woodbridge

One of the best country pubs there is very friendly with nice food and good beer, only downside is it can be cold in the winter with only one fire limited other heating so pick the right day in the winter but you will enjoy this pub.

27 Nov 2011 15:04

The Old Mariner, Woodbridge

Typical of a genuine old fashioned pub, this shows they are still about and going strong. Good beer and Food with friendly people what more can you want.

27 Nov 2011 14:59

The Ship Inn, Blaxhall

A decent country pub, a very pleasant time can be spent here any time of the year. Nice food and beer with a good choice.

27 Nov 2011 14:55

The Crown Inn, Snape

Great place to sit and watch your next meal in the farm yard walking about, for this reason they can put 5 on a meal which they do an average price is around the 15 mark. Is bit of an accident black spot with cars hitting the wall outside other than that it`s an OK pub.

27 Nov 2011 14:50

The Golden Key, Snape

Very pleasant place if you want to pay 13.99 pound for a rabbit pie and 3.70 for a pint, tucked away down a quiet road it has a nice position.

27 Nov 2011 14:42

The Brudenell Hotel, Aldeburgh

Great location with lovely views but is a very tired and expensive hotel/pub cant put my finger on it but again in aldeburgh people pay for eating and sleeping in a place like this. They are very sad.

27 Nov 2011 14:38

David's Place, Aldeburgh

Typical of Aldeburgh little choice and very expensive, not a lot more to say if people are willing to pay these prices when drinking away from home than so be it.

27 Nov 2011 14:34

The Mill Inn, Aldeburgh

Nice pub with good beer but Very expensive, Fish & Chips is 10.99 pint of beer can be 3.70. Suspect there is Snob value in drinking in this pub.

27 Nov 2011 14:30

The Cross Keys, Aldeburgh

Not a bad pub but over the last year I have been there 6 times and found the Adams Bitter tasted like vinager on 4 visits, was told it was the frost in the cellar. Beware

27 Nov 2011 14:27

The White Hart, Aldeburgh

Basic pub but has charm and serves a good pint.

27 Nov 2011 14:24

Belstead Arms, Ipswich

Estate pub with no future as it serves no choice of beer and is dirty, was a good pub in the 60s suspect it still has same decor.

27 Nov 2011 14:20

Red Lion, Martlesham

Small portions with slow service, limited choice of beer. Could do a lot better.

27 Nov 2011 14:16

The Jolly Sailor, Orford

Under new ownership the last landlord run the place down with expensive food and beer, the new landlord has changed very little but the problem is they have no idea of how to run a pub. Terrible place shame as it`s in a nice position a good landlord would really do this pub proud. But not this Landlord.

27 Nov 2011 14:12

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

Very friendly pub in a victorian row of houses, great beer and nice basic food.

27 Nov 2011 14:06

The Garland, Rushmere

They do try there herdest and this is the difference between a poor pub and a good one, could do with a lick of paint but cant but like the place.

16 Nov 2011 17:46

The Falcon, Rushmere St Andrew

CLOSED

16 Nov 2011 17:43

The Golf, Rushmere

Needs a Dulux lorry to overturn outside with the pub doors open, dirty to flithy typical Tolly 1930`s pub already 2 closed in the last 6 years in Ipswich another 4 to go this place might be next.

16 Nov 2011 17:42

The Douglas Bader, Martlesham Heath

Not a pub for genuine drinkers it is a 1974 built building with very small tables, was built to serve the yuppy set for a nearby research building but they dont seem to like it. Beer is average and food is small portions with large portion price.

16 Nov 2011 17:38

The Bell Inn, Kesgrave

Nice Fish & Chips Friday but thats all, typical pub 16 century but needs money thrown at it. Cant see that happening in a hurry so with the beer very average cnat see it getting a good score.

16 Nov 2011 17:33

The Salutation, Ipswich

They think they are a good pub I am sure but it`s over priced, smells, and the tables are small add that to the service which was slow it adds up to a very poor imitation of what it shoul be. Really could do better.

16 Nov 2011 17:28

Robert Ransome, Ipswich

Very busy pub typical for a cheap food place loads of elderly people but that makes it a better pub I think! Dont go in between 12.30 -14.00 and expect to get a table all year round because you wont. That said thay can do some decent real ales like Essex Beast from Neathergate of Sudbury.

16 Nov 2011 17:24

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

Is a nice pub with caring staff, much better than the 2 other pubs in Ipswich who go for this market. Food is basic but fresh and tastie cant think of anything better for a pint of real ale.

16 Nov 2011 17:17

The Dove, Ipswich

Nice pub Good beer but dont bother about sitting outside in the yard, it`s full of barrells and two vans, at night in the summer it`s ok but outside those times dont bother.

16 Nov 2011 17:14

The Jolly Sailor, Orford

New Manager No menu, No Hot Food, Bar Staff did not understand English (asian) cant believe it but it,s true.

16 Nov 2011 17:07

Red Lion, Martlesham

Typical crossroads pub used by horse and carriage in the 1800s. Can get busy as near 2 towns. My experience is slow service and small portions of food therefore expensive, 2 draft ales at the time I called in 17.02.10.
Difficult to catch the sun in the summer sitting outside as Pub is set low with many surrounding trees giving shade to the outside sitting area.
Popular with walkers who quickly fill the pub up when they come back from there walk.
