A great place to watch the football, especially when chelsea lose.

Quite possibly the worst pub in the world.Everyone in there has an ASBO.
Crap.

'The pub has an undeserved reputation for being rough' Eddie laments. Well I suppose if you did 4 years in a Nazi death camp, then the Bell's reputation might seem unfair, but sorry Eddie when someone gets shot in a pub-albeit a few years ago-it tends to diminish the pub's likeabilkity factor.
Ah that's okay I hear you say,cos the mythical Rose-the hard arse with the heart of gold cliche-is there to protect her customers from the malnourished, low IQ, lazy sun reading, racist thugs that inhabit this place. Hell on earth. Why anyone would drink here is beyond me. A fate worse than death.

This is the very worst pub in the entire world. It makes Treblinka look like a holiday camp.
15 Sep 2009 15:48
I really like this place and it is very good value. Stella and kronenberg are of an excellent quality. Locals look a little rough but they are no trouble.
15 Sep 2009 15:41
Heard good things about this place so I visited on a Monday nightfor a few jars and a bite to eat. Apart from Fullers prices, which I always moan about, I thought the place was excellent.Friendly locals, good beer and excellent food. I'd like to say I'll be back, but I'd better start saving first.

depressing Irish pub; I am Irish by the way, but I dont see why the pubs have to be long, narrow and depressing.

A laughable attempt to rebrand this cesspit of a pub. How much did they pay you to write that utter drivel Eddie? Bag of shite.
18 May 2009 11:40
I find it ironic that somebody going under the name of fullerspubcollector should complain about paying 3 for what is a very decent beer. In my local Fullers establishment a pint of Kronenberg costs 3.60.

Spaniards Inn, Hampstead Heath
I agree with Bonser: not worth going out of your way for. A shame really because it has some key ingredients that could make it a decent pub.
18 May 2009 11:30
I think you should give it a second chance Hanwale. The beer is usually first rate. Shame you had a bad experience.

Popped in last night for a quick meal and pint after a stressful day and my word -what a palaver!! Whereas some mortals manage to create technology that can send man to the moon, a simple request for a seasonal pie had the entire staff at a standstill: the prices on the till were different to the ones on the menu; the manager wouldn't answer the phone when the bar server tried to enquire. So i patiently sat and waited, at least safe in the knowledge that there is nowhere decent in Greenford anyway. Fifteen minutes later the jovial and well meaning yet obviously incompetent manageress confirmed that I could have the pie at the price on the menu-the original discrepancy had been over 2!! i THEN BUY A SECOND PINT WITH THE PRICE BEING RANDOMLY DIFFERENT TO THE FIRST ONE i HAD TRIED. Finally my pie arrived. Oh dear-it was the wrong one. What galls me is for the prices they bloody charge you think they would get it right. The place wasnt even busy!!
24 Feb 2009 11:38
here recently on day off due to snow. Found staff friendly and good food-well as good as can be expected for two for one.
10 Feb 2009 09:47
very good pint of abbot in here ane i've heard good things about the guiness.
quality munch also. very friendly staff.
29 Jan 2009 16:23
sorry but i cant see what the fuss is all about: this pub is decidedly mediocre

The Hare and Hounds, Greenford
I actually like this place. Popped in on Sunday and it had a really friendly feel.
6 Oct 2008 12:45
I think its unfair to say that three ales on represent limited choice. Beer is always in perfect condition andf thats what counts.
3 Oct 2008 12:35
Cant believe after being mugged 3.75 FOR A PINT OF pERRONI, THE SERVER WOULDNT SERVE IT IN A PERRONI GLASS. hE WAS WORRIED THE GLASS WOULD GO MISSING. iNSTEAD i'VE GONE MISSING. sHITE PUB.
15 Sep 2008 14:29
Very mixed feelings. Generally cheap and the food is ok, but two things really infuriate me about this place.Firstly, the manageress is totally inept and the place is constantly running out of beer and wine glasses, even when it is not busy. She clearly doesn't care and its a shame cos this place could be alright.Secondly, I cannot abide the shameless favouritism shown by one of the bar staff to her mates, who she constantly serves before others who have been waiting for ages. There is a real complacency here that is gonna prove to be this place's downfall.
15 Sep 2008 14:24
iMPRESSIVE PUB WITH AN EXCELLENT RANGE OF ALES AND A REALLY SUPER BARMAID. EXCELLENT PIES ALSO. MARVELLOUS
19 May 2008 16:40
The Central Bar, Shepherds Bush
A mecca for every piss head and dosser within a four mile radius. Started doing cans of Sapporo here a while back-but not sure if they are still serving this
8 May 2008 12:32
My late uncle owned this pub and I used to love it here.Con O'Shea rest in peace.
8 May 2008 12:27
I had the same reservations as james below but I popped in for a quick solo mission on a Friday afternoon and found this to be a very welcoming and friendly place.
8 May 2008 12:19
Cheers Peter. I totally agree. The Landlord here is absolutely stunning.Best pint in the land for my money.
8 May 2008 12:05
The locals here take the absolute piss. A bunch of self-proclaimed experts on everything, who sit at the bar all day getting hammered. They are so up themselves its amazing;God knows why. Maybe its because they are in a 'wine bar'. I wish I could feel so superior by just getting hammered and talking a whole load of bollox.Pathetic.

I am a massive fan of this pub and I am extremely reluctant to say anything negative about it whatsoever. I am just slightly concerned about very poor service I have received by a certain couple of bar maids over the last month. I really dont mind waiting to be served and I understand that it is a difficult job to do; however, last time I was in the bar maid showed a stunning indifference to how long I had been waiting and instead was faffing around dealing with the other incompetent barmaid/helper's mistakes, whilst at the same time serving people who had blatantly come in after me9about six or seven people). I politely informed her that it was my turn as I had been waiting for about 15 minutes and although she didnt say anything her body language made it clear she was put out. These two seem to be quite new and the other bar staff have always been excellent. New staff should not be allowed to jeapordise the superb standards that this pub has always maintained. I only mention this out of concern for this pub's reputation rather than because of my own personal inconvenience.

I have to say Starski that I know three people who have all been short changed by at least a tenner in this place. I share your concerns. PS iF YOU PAY WITH A TWENTY, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM.Again, I implore someone to explain to me why Fullers pubs are so extortionate.
21 Apr 2008 12:38
visite recently and the barman was very friendly but served a disgusting pint of san miquel.
20 Mar 2008 15:55
Paid a massive 8.65 for a large wine and pint of stella;more fool me!!! Am I the only one to think that fullers prices are extortionate? So why did I go? One because I'm an idiot. Two, because my girlfriend really likes it there and i feel like a tightarse if I am constantly avoiding Fuller's pubs.
I really think more of us need to boycott these pubs-starting with my own stupid self.
17 Mar 2008 12:58
Ive mixed feelings about this place.Being of Irish descent, I find the whole in your face irish theme a bit irritating and phony;however there seems to be a good selection of quality European lagers. I agree that the service is variable.
12 Mar 2008 13:07
This pub puts Fullers pubs to shame; not that I have a problem with Fullers beers but I do with their prices. How come Gill can knock out a large Pinot Grigio for 2.50, when the thieving Fullers bastards can charge anything up to 6. It is easy to take excellence for granted but there are not many pubs around that are better than this one.
11 Mar 2008 16:47
An absolute stunner of a pub with the best ale in the country;see you soon!!!!!
11 Mar 2008 16:38
uSED TO COME HERE WITH WORK COLLEAGUES BUT THERE IS A BEGRUDGING CONCENSUS AMONG US THAT WE CANNOT AFFORD TO COME ANYMORE; AND IF YOU TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT OUR AVERAGE ANNUAL SALARY IS ABOUT 40 000 THEN I think that says something about fullers prices in general.A PINT OF KRONENBOURG AND A GLASS OF WINE COSTS OVER EIGHT QUID. SEE YOU ALL AGAIN WHEN I'VE WON THE LOTTERY.
11 Mar 2008 16:29
The most uninspiring boozer that its ever been my misfortune to enter;mediocrity has never reached such heights.
10 Mar 2008 13:18
What's the score with bthese brewery pubs man? wHY ARE THEY SO EXTORTIONATE?
27 Feb 2008 09:27
I have to agree with bedfont.Although this is a classy looking and pleasant enough pub, I dont rate the beer as highly as others seem to. The beer is good but it is not outstanding; for example it is no way near the standard of the Fox in Hanwell.
14 Dec 2007 12:37
Impressive old school boozer. Will return; soon hopefully.
3 Dec 2007 13:19
Took the missus and her niblet here for a meal. What is that horrible smell. Wont be back but barman was friendly.
3 Dec 2007 13:05
No disrespect Si31, but you cant have been to many pubs in west london if you think that this is one of the best
18 Oct 2007 12:47
Does anyone know exactly how old the tall stooped old man is? The one who will not let anyone help him.
21 Sep 2007 12:01
Full of complacent, golf playing, self-loving prats with their blong slag girlfriends; beer is shit aswell. Go to moonswhere you can at least taste the beer.
21 Sep 2007 11:50
I have never felt safe in this pub; certainly has a touch of the pikey about it.
21 Sep 2007 11:46
when you get over the 'off the beaten track'novelty value, this pub in essence is boring and the food mediocre.
12 Jul 2007 10:51
I have to say that although i have slated this pub in the past, the current manager is good; still pricy though
12 Jul 2007 10:44
I tend to agree with the comments above; however they do 35ml measures if you are into top shelf action;cant possibly compete with the fox just down the road.
29 Jun 2007 11:15
The Drayton Court, West Ealing
Is it just me or are Fullers wine prices extortionate; 5.20 for a large glass of Pinot Grigio blush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It might be a semi decent pub but this is outrageous!!!!!!
4 Jun 2007 13:01
recently was served a deadful pint of heineken in here.I politely explained to the barman that I thought the pint was off, but he checked with at least two line managers before he would change it. There a bit up themselves around here; my advice would be too avoid this place.
4 Jun 2007 12:56
The Argyll Arms, Oxford Circus
Superb traditional boozer with truly delicious ales which are always well kept.
30 May 2007 14:03
The Common Room, Ealing Common
Popped in for a quick one and it seemed fine. However i thought that 3.60 was a bit steep for a pint of Pilsner Urquell.
3 May 2007 13:58
its claim to be the greatest pub in ealing is laughable-this is a total cess pit and should be avoided at all costs
30 Apr 2007 14:53
been here twice in the last year. seems like a great little pub with good beer and food. Its a shame if the regulars really are that unfriendly as has been suggested; its nearly impossible to have a great pub in a relatively rough area. Having said that, Sunday crowd seemed fine
30 Apr 2007 10:50
Jesus and Gandhi would end up getting into a fight in this place. Old chinese proverb say: cheap pint is no consolation for shattered skull
26 Apr 2007 15:08
The Old City Arms, Hammersmith
A favoured haunt of my youth with fellow cardinal vaughan alcoholics
26 Apr 2007 15:06
If you are that desperate for a drink that you have stopped here then you need to ask yourself some pretty searching questions. absolute hell on earth
23 Apr 2007 14:53
its quite simple; dont trust pubs which have ridiculously flourescent pool tables. This pub is a total shithole as is Ruislip Gardens in general
23 Apr 2007 12:25
It seems that i am going against the grain here but surely it was better before they ponced it up. Of course pubs should be clean and well presented but why do they have to be so souless
30 Mar 2007 12:09
A great pub with an excellent range of beers. The food is also nice. Not the cheapest pub in the wqorld though
30 Mar 2007 12:04
would be great if they didn't sell youngs; how can anyone drink that shit?
28 Mar 2007 15:32
good boozer, but they take the piss with their prices for food.
6 Mar 2007 15:58
I have to say that i've had my doubts about this place for years, but due to the impromptu demise of the litten i thought i'd give it a go. Pleasantly surprised; nice staff, okay food-locals still seem a little rank though
6 Mar 2007 15:54
The Magpie and Crown, Brentford
Fantastic boozer. The paulaner lager is exceptional and the atmosphere is always quietly friendly without being in your face. Only problem is that i,m not a local.keep up the great work folks; real pubs ike this are a dying breed.
22 Nov 2006 16:09
Impressive range of beers in a place that is designed for posers and prima donnas
8 Nov 2006 16:34
Cracking beer festival; great ales on especially the Bishop's Tipple-all gone now i'm afraid. No disrespect Tomo24, but you'd do well to find a better pub in Ruislip. I agree moons lacks a bit of atmosphere, but the quality of beer and food makes up for it
1 Nov 2006 13:01
An okay pub but beware that at times the conversation can be a little highbrow. If Plato and Pythagoras are your thing then I am sure you will find this pub to be to your liking
10 Oct 2006 13:05
I'm glad that this pub is starting to get the appreciation it deserves. It is definitely the best moon pub that I have ever been to.Most the staff are friendly and the service is generally good. Is it just me, but moons pubs don't seem as cheap as they used to?Maybe I'm just getting old.
10 Oct 2006 13:02
This is a great pub; love the san miguel on draught and the food is excellent. Don't go here half enough!!
10 Oct 2006 12:58
The Drayton Court, West Ealing
Mixed feelings about this place. On its day it is a cracking pub with well kept beers. Also, I like the way that it still feels like a pub, especially bearing in mind the horrendous refurb of the kent. However, there are a few too many chavos for my liking.
10 Oct 2006 12:57
This is a fantastic pub and is certainly one of the best in London. The Taylor's landlord is the best in the land and all the other beers are always exceptionally well kept. Also, well done to them for only charging 2.80 for a pint bottle of magners.
9 Oct 2006 16:19
It is such a shame what has happened to this pub. I dont wanna come across as a reactionary old git butits been turned into a wine bar and the prices are extortionate. Also, if you are gonna pay with a twenty pound note, make sure you tell them it is a twenty pound note;i'll say no more than that.
9 Oct 2006 16:15
North Star is a cracking pub and arguably the best in Ealing. Really friendly manager and superb beer which is well kept. Though I have to say their bloody marys are not quite as good as they would like to think they are
9 Oct 2006 16:10
The Duke of Kent, Ealing
I have criticised this pub in the past fpr being expensive, which it still is. That being said, the new manager is friendly and knows his beers. I recommend the wheat beer called Blue Moon.
