Planning permission granted in December 2015 to convert to a house. Yet another village has lost it's only pub.
19 Dec 2015 13:33
Just heard this pub has been closed to the public for about 5 months and is currently been run as a b and b. Sad to see the demise of this rural inn. Hopefully it can be sold on soon as has great potential in the right hands,

Only just reopened and a great transformation. Great food, couple of good ales and all the usual pub games. The int.erior is stunning and this place deserves to succeed.

This Beautiful old inn has been closed for 18 months now. Change of use did not happen and it`s now for sale at 175,000.

Point taken. This is only based on rumours anyway. Of course the villagers will give the pub a chance. We wish you all the best with the food and all we ask if you will cater for us as well and you will get good support.

Opening soon. Rumour is new landlord is focussed on food and local people will be an afterthought. There will be no pool, darts, doms or even a quiz nite. No chance of watching the rugby matches in here as well. Why would you take on a village pub if you have no intention of involving yourself with the local community. Seriously hope he rethinks this policy or he will suffer at the till.

The Black Horse Inn, Moreton Morrell
Untouched by time. Get here while you still can. Landlord complaining that only had 12 people in on a Friday night. It`s a big village and could easily support their one pub. The people of Moreton Morrell don`t know how lucky they are to have this gem. Usually sell Hook Norton ale and a guest beer normally around 5%.

Sorry ignore the previous comment. This pub is still open and doing well. The comments are for the local dolfor inn.

No real ale. Just bottled ale and the usual keg offering. Out in the wilds above rhayader. Worth a visit because the scenery is amazing around here.
27 Oct 2010 17:24
Nice little pub with a carved wood bar. 3 real ales on. Tried the local montys beer which was served slightly cooler than it should. On top of a hill in the middle of nowhere. I will return.

26 Sep 2010 23:50
Formally the brilliant Mytton Arms. Run as a restaurant now. Shame really as still looks like a pub inside. Hope someone will at least change the name back one day...

27 Oct 2009 23:47
Sign on the door states the pub is no longer open to the public. Planning application has been submitted for 6 dwellings incorporating the pub and car park. Pub has been deliberately run down by the landlord. Shameful. I wonder if the people of caersws will challenge this application.

9 May 2009 22:56
Crown and Anchor Inn, Llanidloes
More commonly known as Ruby`s after the long serving landlady . Genuine multi room old fashioned boozer. Regular entry in the good beer guide. This sort of pub is a dying breed!
9 May 2009 16:07
Situated next to a caravan park . Homely pub with great food. Usually 1 to 2 real ales on(serve local montys ale on occasion)
9 May 2009 15:56
The best real ale pub in mid wales. 4 real ales on at any one time and an annual beer festival . A gem.
8 May 2009 11:53
Rumour in the village the buck is going to close for good in July. Landlord has told pool , darts and dominoes teams they will have to play elsewhere. Pub has deliberately been run down by the landlord for the last few years. Only opens on limited hours and even shuts on saturday nights if he feel likes. Be a sad day for caersws when this once popular pub closes.
