Good atmosphere.More like a village pub.Very friendly.Worth seeking out.always 2 ales on and 1 is always a mild. welshboy88 - 21 Aug 2007 17:14 |
This is the only pub worth bothering with in Newtown. The only pub with cask MILD, being a stranger in town it took some finding but well worth the trouble for a well kept pint of Banks's cask MILD on hand pull. Everyone was really friendly and talkative, the landlord certainly knows his stuff. Haven't tried it yet but the food is highly recommended. Other beers on offer on my visit a few weeks back were Marstons Bitter and Ormes Best. The pub also features a beer garden and a large pool room. Stus.search.4.mild - 26 Aug 2006 02:52 |
Far and away the best pub in the town. Excellent beer, well kept, guest beers, (but be quick the locals will see off the barrel in no time), a great little restaurant round the back and Bank's Mild for the end of the weekend when you really don't think you can drink any more. cfcmark - 24 Aug 2006 15:17 |
Out of town pub (300 yards) with a beer garden, (a rarity in Newtown). tel - 6 Feb 2006 18:27 |
A very friendly pub with restaurant and beer garden located in a quiet part of Newtown about 150 yards from the River Severn. With Real Ales and a great reputation for the excellent food served makes this one of the best pubs around. Paul Davis - [email protected] - 28 Jul 2005 00:47 |
