The White Horse, Shepherds Bush
The White Horse of Shepherds Bush, most definitely not to be confused with The White Horse of Parsons Green.
If the Parsons Green WH is referred to as the Sloaney Pony, any suggestions to what the Bush WH should be known as....

The Shepherd and Flock, Shepherds Bush
S&F is a much under-rated cosy, little one-room pub predominately serving the local the veteran drinkers. Very reasonably priced pints, in fact probably the cheapest in the area.

The Bush Bar and Grill, Shepherds Bush
Quick update...The Green Room have HD large screens, with fantastic picture quality and they turn the sound up high, making it the perfect pub to watch the Saturday evening Premiership game after another depressing afternoon down Loftus Road especially as they serve decent burgers

The Stinging Nettle, Shepherds Bush
It's really hard to review the Stinging Nettle as the original Bush Ranger was my favourite pub in the Bush, well infact my favourite pub.
The current Stinging Nettle is a vast improvement on what the Bush Ranger became in the summer of 2004. It has a very good function room upstairs, where many of my friends have held partys, as there's no minimum bar spend and the bar staff are very helpful.
But as they say If I hadnt seen such riches I could live with being poor' and
if I hadnt known the real Bushranger, then I'd be more than happy with the Stinging Nettle. The Bushranger used to be a cracking character pub; it was such a refreshing change to the near-by formulaic chains, traditional with dark atmospheric, low ceilings, period features, wood panelled walls and a handsome fireplace with a cosy roaring open fire. Talk of spit and sawdust, they actually had sawdust scattered on the floor.
Built in 1864 and originally called the Railway Tavern, to supply a watering hole for the Metropolitan railway construction workers

Very popular QPR pub. In July 2004 was renamed The Prince, from The British Prince, but it's original name was the Orange Kipper.
Across the left hand side of the pub, an American artist has painted an enormous QPR mural featuring past greats including Phil Parkes, Les Ferdinand and strangely Andy Thomson?
A couple of years ago Paddy Power bookmakers conveniently opened up next door.
Gianni Paladini infamously (well to QPR fans) announced Gary Waddock as manager in the Prince

The Brackenbury, Shepherds Bush
Lots of potential for this establishment, obvious choice would be to convert into a trendy gastro pub given the location. Would be great if it could be brought back into independant ownership, currently owned by Enterprise Inns, or at least Fullers could buy it.

the refrub just make you want ot cry! Used to be a great olde worlde pub - an old building in great settings. Now it's an awful upmarket pizza restaurant - not a pub anymore. RIP Orange Tree. They should at least change the name - Pizza Tree or summit!

The Brackenbury, Shepherds Bush
Relaxing pub, perhaps due to the abundance of Green decor. Go there quick before it gets eaten up by the Brackenbury Village ya ya's

Great little wine bar, full of BBC types during the week.

Great under ground bar, converted from old victorian toilets. Big names in comedy perform on Tuesdays. London's coolest bar said the Times.

Essentially a working mans pub, well used by local bus depot.
Used to be called The British Prince, does anyone know why it changed it's name?
apparently there's a meat raffle traditionally on Fridays - but I've never seen it.

The Stinging Nettle, Shepherds Bush
Why? Why? Why? Used to be the best pub in area. Used to have period features, old paintings, fireplace, saw dust, wooden bar.
Now it's so bright you need sun glasses, there's loads of these non-descript bars around why have they destroyed a real pub?

The British Queen, Shepherds Bush
A small, two-bar corner pub very popular on match days. They may as well have a No women sign on the door, such is the lack of the fairer sex drinking in the British Queen.
Located on the corner of Thorpebank Rd, where interestingly they filmed Monty Pythons Flying Circus BBC series.
Also back in the late 1950s when Rangers were then in the Third Division, the players were not well paid and often had to live as lodgers in houses close to the ground and Thorpebank Road seemed to have more than its fair share of Rangers players living in the road.
