The Shambles, Whitby

Was in yesterday a very busy Saturday afternoon, and was confused, why were the lads hugging each other? did I pick the wrong day to go in or what?

The Bishop Blaize, Richmond

Is it me or what, we went to this pub last weekend, not many in and waited to be served at the far end of the bar, woman behind the bar was talking to four locals and when I asked for a beer she looked up then looked away and carried on talking, this pub will never be used by me again, anyone else found this in there?

The Station Inn, Whitby

The Station Inn has everything you need for a good day out, beer is first class and loved the small room at the front, had a couple of pints of real ale as the pub is called the Station it is very close to getting back on the train, I suggest you try this place out. Looks very much like a local, everyone seemed to know each other and very friendly.

Duke of York, Whitby

Another excellent pub in Whitby, they sell real ale and others the food looked excellent theres also a quiet good whisky bar, this pub overlooks the harbour but your lucky to get a seat near the window, my only small problem was there was sport on the tv and the reception was poor, but thats all I could fault, great pub been in three times in the last two months always a good pint.

The Board Inn, Whitby

What a great pub just at the bottom of the Abbey steps, very homely and good service, was busy the day I visited, excellent real ales and great views of the harbour, the meals looked excellent and I noticed they advertise quiz nights and live music. A first class pub in a very busy street well worth a visit.

Darlington Snooker Club, Darlington

An excellent family run club with at least four real ales on tap, plus beer, cider and lager. On the 16th to 19th of April there will be a beer festival on with at least 20 beers plus ciders, they are also putting on hot food so if you want a good pint and a meal why not get down there it really is first class, and have a game of snooker as well.

The Turks Head, Darlington

Yet again another pub I visited and beer was very cheap, doesn't bother me but it looks like it is turning into a gay bar, theres even a paper you can pick up can't remember the name. Very old fashioned in places and a good beer garden.

24 May 2007 15:29
