The Three Horseshoes, Bourne End
Nearly 2 years since the last review but it still stands,Oldham_Drinker is spot on.
Great location and Superb historical building, this should be a 8 or 9 out of 10 but the poor beer selection lets it down. There are three taps on if they could give one over to one of the many a local breweries or even rotate then it becomes a destination and talked about pub.
Enjoyed the food but there are local places that do better.

The King Charles I, Kings Cross
Have to agree with outamyhead. This was my goto pub in KX. Quiet but with atmosphere and nicely laid out.
Todays visit saw three GK beers on, how disappointing. Years ago you would be guaranteed at least one interesting cask on but now as London pubs are embracing craft and real ale this pub takes a step back.
Still a great layout but sort the beer out. The Queens head needs competitors !

Have long been looking forward to visiting this pub as I am an admirer of the owners business plan without having visited.A day off and an explore around Tring finally gave me a chance to visit an Oakman inn.
On entering the pub I was pleased to see three handpumps and despite one being turned around I was looking forward to trying a local Rib Tickler by Tring.
My pleasure soon turned to despondency As I was ignored to be served by three members of staff (despite it being quiet ) by customers who had approached the bar after me. Was looking forward to a pint and lunch but left without being served.
A real shame as a great idea. I guess made the worse by my high expectations of the small pubco :(
The Robin hood was last on my list (as a Fullers house) but was greeted and served immediately even though it was busier.
If you want a very decent pint go to the Castle (not on this website) recently bought by Vale. if you want beer and good homemade food go to the Kings Head.
I stll have respect for the owners of this place but will now probably not return based on this one experience, a real shame.

Pub now closed - Planning permission for flats sought but turned down. Maybe reincarnated as another "community facility"

The Elephant and Castle, Amersham
Great Building with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
This pub could easily be the best in the old town BUT,three real ales on and non of the many interesting beers from the growing number of breweries within a 15 mile radius.
The Kings arms has the beer, this place has the atmosphere. a mixture of both would be ideal.

Was looking forward to finally visiting this pub but it was shut at Half two on a Saturday afternoon. This means I cant really pass judgement other than to say it should open all day at the weekend.

This pub used to be in my top 5 pubs in London but visited yesterday and was bitterly disappointed. The Quality of the beer used to set this pub apart but it was flat and uninteresting.
Also my experience of the staff was the same as 'youngbr' I found them not only grumpy but bordering on rude. More interested in smoking than serving punters and no verbal communication when the did get round to serving.
This is still an outstanding building inside and out but with pubs closing left right and centre then we cant afford for pubs to be serving poor beer with poor customer service. Such a shame.

Ignore comment from husknet as it is misleading - note how they have only reviewed one pub !
Visited early on a Friday evening after hearing the Pub has changed hands and heard good things about the new management from locals. 4 Casks of which one of the guests I tried was in Very good condition. In terms of selection and quality one of the best I have tried in Chesham area. Friendly staff and management.
Whilst I did not try the food, the menu looked more reasonable than when I previously visited.
Inglenook fireplace for the winter and large garden for the summer. Only issue for me is having to drive to get there but will look forward to a Sunday walk in the winter with the promise of a well kept and interesting pint.

The Victoria and Albert, Marylebone Station
Visited recently and it has had a bit of a makeover. Still has the feel of a Station pub but much better than it was.
Lack of interesting cask ales on but did have meantime Lager and pale ale on draught.
Strange pricing structure which sees half pints have a 40p markup over their full pint equivilent.
OK if waiting for a train but better pubs in the area if you have got the time to walk to them.

Why has nobody rated this pub ? !
I am not sure what else I could ask for on a cold winters Sunday afternoon. A roaring fire at each end if this no nonsense cosy pub.
Sunday lunches were served but we visited too late to sample (maybe next time)
10/10 for the friendly gaffer and the well kept but limited beer.
I have driven past this pub on the way to the two pubs at Ley Hill but this is just as good,if not better. We will be back.

So glad to see the Mow back up and running. Had always been in my Top 5 pubs in London to visit.
6 handpumps 3 working order on my visit. Very quiet so imagine turnover has an impact on availabilty of beer.
Decent pint friendly staff interesting music at an acceptable level. If this place had a log fire you would struggle to get me to leave.
Worth the walk from baker street, best proper pub in the area.
Keep it up

I could not agree more with LadyLiz -
Went to this pub for Lunch late Sat afternoon. Waited an hour for a burger and steak, which never appeared. Some of this chains other pubs have been excellent with at least one decent guest beer on unfortunately there was the usual Pride or Greene King IPA.
There was clearly an issue with the kitchen but the manageress was happy to sit in the bar reading a book, she did not seem to have a problem getting food as she was happily eating her lunch when she should have been sorting out the kitchen/helping out the solitary waitress.
I much prefer this pub to its sister pub up the road but will not be going back.

A smashing back street Victorian boozer which is well worth going out of your way to find. Excellent looking front bar with fair selection of Ales on tap with large open rear for eating reasonably priced and plentiful Thai food.
Packed when we visited on a Tuesday night.
However this fantastic pub on many fronts is let down by ignorant bar staff and a we had a virtualy identical experience to runnerbean below.

A great find off the beaten track behind Charing Cross Hospital. Well kept beer usually Pride plus one other(Great Pint of Harvey's on my visit)Friendly Staff (Presume Father and Son Combo) Hope this place does not go the same way as the one up the road. Worth a visit before it gets closed or done up.

The King Charles I, Kings Cross
I often find myself in Kings Cross area waiting for a train and have been looking for this sort of pub for years in the area.
OK so its not exactly untouched but its relaxed, friendly and has a couple of Real Ales on as well as a large selection of bottled beers.
I am glad I stumbled across this place and will be visiting again

More I go in this place, the more I like it.
Agree with pat_toast that there should be at least one more real ale on.

This place could be very Hit and Miss. I had spent a great New Years Day lounging on the Sofas with friends. On Other occasions the service was terrible and the smeel from the awful toilets permeated through the bar area.
Walked passed in the week and a 'Closed Until Futher Notice' sign on the windows. Maybe yet another refurb ? Could be a great place whcih Harrow is desparatley in need of.
