So has the pub been sold off or do the same family run it (Doyles) ?

Lovely bar and great atmosphere but think you should try cater for those in wheelchairs seeing that Putney hospital is only over the road. I visited many times with my friend who was in rehab there for a number of years and it was very difficult for us to bring him for a beer.

Is this the bar that had all the great bands down the back on sunday evenings ? If so does it still happen ?

Just so you know its a landlady not landlord. Karen being her name. Not one bit rough. Infact the customers are great and i'm not one of them but do visit when in the area. Nice family run pub but sort out the jukebox

The Coningham Arms, Shepherds Bush
Don't like the fact that you can now be seen from the road.Never was a place i liked so would hate to be seen in it.

This place was always without windows. No sooner were they replaced when somebody would smash them again. Passed by recently and i had to be told it was closed down. It may be all boarded up but it always was. Some very rough locals but plenty of great people in the area too. Shame for them they're local pub is now gone. I would love to see it re-opened but can't say i can see that happening

No matter what time of the day or night you are sure to find drunks falling out of this place. They don't seem to care too much about their customers so long as they keep the tills hopping. Do they ever think about the safety of the customer ? I don't think so. Rotten place. The Bush could do without it

One of my favourite pubs in the area.A real pub atmosphere. Place to visit

Across the road from the police station this was always a bar you could visit without feeling any threat. Can't say that about too many bars in the area. The food is great and a good wine list also. The staff are friendly and the service maybe a bit on the slow side but not off putting.

Nothing at all has changed with this place in 20 yrs other than the prices. Far too expensive. Its not as if the overheads are huge. That could be why the staff from Brooks club don't visit you anymore. Now they were good customers to have

The Duke of Albemarle, Mayfair
This was one of the best pubs back in 1986/7 when i worked up the road from it. My recent visit to the street found it closed. I hope it will open its doors again and soon

Worked here many yrs ago. Sorry to say but the decor needs attention. The place is filthy and way too smokey. But its good to see that the street is still lively. I'll pop back when you clean up your act. Such a shame to see the place go down hill so much. No excuse for filth

Was a spot i used when i was in college in Athlone. Glad to see the students don't use here anymore. Still visit when in town And have no complaints.

Yes indeed a great spot. Great smoking area, brill music and a good pint. Best pub in Athlone. Go over the bridge and visit Sean O'Grady if you wat to venture from here

What a dive. There is just nothing good to say about this place. The staff are ignorant, its filthy and the beer is crap. Word of advise. Keep well away.

The Shepherd and Flock, Shepherds Bush
This is the spot. They say the Cavan people are mean but it can't be said for this Landlord. Yes indeed he's not shy when it comes to treating his customers to a drink on the house. The staff are great and its a nice clean pub, the drink is not tampered with and they stock Magners. What more can a person want. Keep up the good work

The Stinging Nettle, Shepherds Bush
Sorry to say but the new decor is no improvement. Bring back the sawdust. But its still nice to be recognised when i pay a visit. Moved out many yrs ago and recently visited the Bush. On popping in to the Ranger there was a great welcome for me. That in itself will ensure that i visit again

Gone are the days when we had to wear out coats to keep us warm here. Guess when they lost the decent customers they had to take drastic measures and spend a few quid on decor. Its the only good move they've made since the Mc'Gowans reign. Unlucky for them they never managed to draw back the customers that used the pub then. Now they have heating and pleasant decor but a bunch of prats as customers. Not a place to be seen. Carry on down towards the green. Next stop the Flock. Then your in a right pub
