Dreadful pub. £5.50 for a pint of Sambrooks Junction. Half the tables had "reserved" signs on them. Clearly get most of their customers from the Ritz Hotel round the corner who don't care what they have to pay. Aztecgoat - 12 Jun 2016 09:20 |
The old Blue Posts was demolished along with the whole block. Happily the block has been rebuilt and a new Blue Posts has arisen. It looks bright and spacious - alas when I went there to meet friends the entire pub was closed for a private party, much to my disgust and considerable inconvenience. It is common for rooms to be set aside for a private party but not the whole pub. I have no intention of ever setting foot in here again (not that I got further than the door anyway). A pub that won't let in paying customers is no use. Realalecat - 10 Feb 2016 13:35 |
My first visit to the newly re-opened and refurbished Blue Posts which is just around the corner from the Ritz. 5 ales and 1 real cider (Old Rosie) on the 6 hand pumps. I was drinking Tribute’s St Austell until it run out then I was on the GK IPA, both ales were decently kept but I’m not a GK IPA fan. Monday night the week running up to Christmas and the pub was packed. The crowd were a mix of office workers and tourists. Service was good on my visit but you had to catch the eye of the bar person as they won’t that clued up on who was next in line, most of the bar staff were non English but that doesn’t bother me. Nicely decorated and still has a new feel. Decent enough pub in a convenient location for Green Park station. lezford - 7 Jan 2016 14:01 |
This bears little relation to the previous pub on this site with the same name. Decent selection of ale is its only good point. Zero character, horrendously noisy, poorly trained bar staff who serve anyone stood near the tills rather than those waiting longest. Easily the worst pub in this area Berboyblue - 30 Oct 2015 19:32 |
Not yet been but looks like it has risen from said ashes: http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/blue-posts--st-jamess/c6707/ Texas68 - 30 Oct 2015 12:43 |
