A great country local. Always a range of real ales including the local Chimneys brews, Greene King, Adnams plus a guest ale at good proces and kept well. They also serve great home made grub.

No longer a Wetherspoons pub for many months now. Big screen TVs show football at high volume whilst the patrons try to shout over it. In this ex-cinema the noise can be deafening.
The new owners keep their beer well and havent increased the prices excessively but the range is vary variable. Sometimes they have a nice range of guest beers on but often you can only get a couple of Greene King brews and it seems to be getting worse.
The menu is similar to the old Wetherspoons one but I havent tried the food myself.

New, permanent landlords are in and keeping the beer very well. Food is supposed to be excellent with loads of seafood on the menu but I havent been able to try yet beware the kitchen closes at 13:30 at lunchtime.
A recent disagreement with the crib team over the variety of after match sandwiches that has seen them stop using the pub. This together with comments supposedly made by the landlord at the time has caused some of the regulars to worry. However I have never felt unwelcome calling in just for a drink.

Recently reopened after a fairly long closure. Tastefully refurbished in 50s theme with a range of real ales served from the barrel. No food served but are happy to supply plates and cutlery for use with fish and chips or Chinese available nearby. Best pub in the area

The White Horse, Tilbrook
Quintessential British Country Pub
If you had to take a tourist to only one pub this would be my choice. It has everything you would expect in a country pub. The thatched, oak beamed building with views across green fields where cows are chewing the cud is the ideal setting. The range of food on offer is excellent and the meals we chose were delicious. There is a good range of well kept real ales and a large selection of wines. All are served by happy, polite staff and are reasonably priced. Even the toilets have interesting artworks. It’s just a shame we live so far from it.
