This was one of my favourite pubs in Suffolk yesterday. Located in the same village as the Old Chimney brewery and stocks 2 of their ales. Yesterday they had Military Mild & Goldcrest. The mild didn't seem to be 100%. There was also Fullers London Pride, Adnams Bitter & Greene King IPA. It's a pub that serves the need of local drinkers as well as diners. Staff seemed to be friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, with no TV or games machines. But there was music playing at an acceptable level. Nice country pub. blue_scrumpy - 11 Aug 2013 09:47 |
I can hardly believe I was in the same pub as Jooliee. At very short notice they were able to accept a booking for approx.twenty people for Sunday Lunch. On arrival the dining table was beautifully set out and there were many and varied meals to choose from. None of the main courses exceeded £10 plus a selection of Adnam's beers at the bar. Couldn't fault the place, highly recommended. motorcyclist - 2 Feb 2013 19:48 |
I ordered the spicy chickpea casserole for dinner. It tasted like cabbage soup and has to be the worst dinner I have ever been served. I reported this to the waitress who said she would pass the comments on. When we went to the bar to pay I again told the barmaid that I was not impressed at all. She replied in a very rude manner that I should have said something before and that they sell a lot of this meal. This I seriously doubt. She eventually agreed not to charge me for the meal but there was no mention of an apology and I was made to feel I was in the wrong. So, The Mill, shame on you for your food and your rude serving staff! Joolziee - 6 May 2012 04:40 |
A great country local. Always a range of real ales including the local Chimneys brews, Greene King, Adnams plus a guest ale at good proces and kept well. They also serve great home made grub. pmurray - 1 May 2008 16:11 |
