Excellent beer and tasty grub - not the cheapest of pubs but pretty good for the location; helpful and welcoming staff. Definitely one to list in my mental pub guide.

The Queen Vic is shaping up to be a very decent local boozer. It is now owned by Leopard Leisure, who have also turned around the Brandling Villa in South Gosforth. The Queen Vic now has a fair selection of well-kept real ales; it does good food (including 'Northumbrian Nibbles' - 2.50 portions of delights such as roast tatties, sticky sausages, chilli prawns, etc; Geordie tapas, if you like, advertised on a blackboard on the bar to complement the main meals menu). It's no longer 'darn awful' or a resort for alkies and charvers - well worth a try.

The Curse of 'It's A Scream' bites again: this pub has closed.

It's a station bar. It sells beer (and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages). That's about it, really. Better than some.

This pub has now re-opened under its proper, original name of 'The Queen Victoria'.

Has been taken over by the Head of Steam chain and is to be completely refurbished.

Now renamed LYH 'Legendary Yorkshire Heroes' & so presumably now part of Tony Brookes' Head of Steam group. Sign outside advertises real ale. This can only be a good thing.

Really enjoyed visiting here on a trip to Coventry this week: lovely environment, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff. The only thing I would ask for extra would be a beer menu to help me choose.

Absolutely rank. Filthy carpets, sticky tables, and an unpleasant smell. Does the management have no pride? Oh, for the days when this was Bierrex.

'Victorian city pub' gone a bit scruffy with OK but quite expensive beer. Could do with a bit of tlc - shame Sir John Fitzgerald doesn't take it on.

Excellent unspoiled pub, good, well-priced beer, and occasional folk music nights for those who like that sort of thing. A little gem, and just a couple of minutes walk from Felling metro.

I popped in a couple of days ago: the bogs must have had a deep clean as they smelt quite fresh and fragrant for a change. Long may it last.
