The Crown and Anchor, Las Vegas
Having spend quite some time in London, I agree totally with Millay. This is a proper pub, even with the video poker machines right in front of you. The selection of draught beer is quite impressive. I visit Vegas at least twice a year and this awesome pub is always on the crawl list. To feel more at home, try the tasty Sunday roast. While not as great as you would find in the UK, it's still a good meal. Last time I was there, they were out of Tetley's. However, with all those tap handles, it was easy to find a suitable replacement. For the very best in American IPA, try the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. And if you are lucky enough to visit while they have Samuel Adams Boston Ale (not Lager - which is everywhere!) on tap, give it a try. You won't be disappointed. And this pub is far enough away from the Strip to keep the crowds down. Finally, a big hello to my two favorite Englishmen, Nigel and Charles. I met these two while they were on holiday in Vegas with their wives and I've not since had that much fun.

I love this pub! I go to Vegas every March, usually around St. Patrick's Day. During this time there are Irish ales and lagers available that aren't served the rest of the year. The friendly staff pours a quality pint and the beer is always in great condition. It does get crowded, but what can you expect from a place with great beer, great food & great live music? I give it a 10!

The Ellis Island Casino and Brewery, Las Vegas
I was not impressed at all with the beer brewed here. They all have the same flavor, just varying degrees of color. I found the porter (or maybe it was their stout) to be the only drinkable one. The one good thing is the price, as mentioned in Millay's post. Way too many other good beer options in Vegas to waste your time here.

The Triple 7 Restaurant & Brewery, Las Vegas
Although there are only five beers brewed on the property, all are in good condition and very well priced. $1.75 a pint when I was there in August 2005. I'll post an update as I will be back in Vegas next month.

First I have to say "thank you" to kodabar for his/her excellent directions to the pub. I found it with no problem.
I hate to repeat the same line, but this beautiful old pub is a classic. A diamond that shines above the surrounding "coal".
Enjoyed several pints and great conversation with Scotty. Long live the Ye Old Mitre and all who chose to drink there.

Nice short walk from the Tube station. Huge selection of beer, the best I've seen in London. All well kept. Music volume just right. If you want good conversation and excellent beer, this is the place. And if memory serves, the loo is upstairs. Always a bonus after a few pints.

The Lord John Russell, Russell Square
I'm not quite sure what led to anonymous' comments on 3 Sep 2005, but I can assure you this pub is no dump. I am not a local, but I've always been treated very nicely by the staff and the beer is well kept. My greatest memory of the LJR is enjoying my pint whilst watching the world roll on a simple wooden bench out front.

Historic little pub right on the river. Good (not great) beer, standard Greene King. Did not try the food, price seemed very high for the area. Loved the back of the pub. Nice to sit or stand on the jetty and watch the river roll by.

The Duke Of Wellington, Marylebone
Went there for Sunday roast because I heard it was good. I was lied to... it was FANTASTIC!!! Huge portions and very tasty. Beer was equally fantastic. Owner was very nice. Also, no music to interfere with people's conversations. As stated by johnh, this is how a great pub should be. I will be returning soon.

Beautiful pub in all aspects. Good selection of beer. It does get crowded... But aren't all good pubs suppose to be popular???

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Fleet Street
Jason summed up my comments exactly! Very impressive old building. It even smells old... in a good way! Staff is very polite and can actully speak "beer". Nice to see people know about what they pour.

Before my recent visit to London I used this web site to research great pubs. Based on the comments I read here, I paid a special visit to the Rose & Crown. Thanks to all who said good things. You are all exact in your comments... this is one great pub! Great beer, friendly staff and I met some great people here. I'll see you all on my next trip. Cheers!

Nice boozer but nothing to get excited about. Your better bet is to cross the street and find the Head of Steam.

I read all the great comments about the HoS on this web site before I visited London. Thanks to all who said good things. You are right... the place was awesome! This is one Yank who loves great beer and I WILL return to this wonderful pub on my next trip. Cheers!

Very impressive! Great beers on cask. Lovely interior... lots of dark wood and there is room to breathe.

The Garrick Inn, Stratford Upon Avon
Great pub! Loved the historic old building. One of many of that type building along High St. Not too crowded even though it was lunchtime on a Saturday. Far enough from Willy's birthplace to keep MOST of the tourists away.

The Duke Of Wellington, Marylebone
I have not visited this "pub" since me post of 22 Sep 2005, but it's obvious from the photos this place has gone to hell. Total, complete shame! Where have all the good London pubs gone???
