user reviews of the Ellis Island Casino and Brewery, Las Vegas

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Was here a couple of years back and will here again later this month.

No nonsense casino off of the strip, with a restaurant and gaming area.

The brewery sells good quality house brewed lager and black lager (a bit like stout), it wasn't quite $1.50 on my last visit but I was getting buy one get one free.

Decent like place that is worth the walk off the strip or a cab ride

Well I'd be a liar if I said this was the best pub I'd ever been in or that the beer was fantastic. But at $1.50 a pint the beer was more than passable and the dark beer and stout were really quite good. The BBQ attached was brilliant - choice was ribs or chicken and it was all good!

I was not impressed at all with the beer brewed here. They all have the same flavor, just varying degrees of color. I found the porter (or maybe it was their stout) to be the only drinkable one. The one good thing is the price, as mentioned in Millay's post. Way too many other good beer options in Vegas to waste your time here.

A reasonable walk from the strip if you are close to the Flamingo. Walk up East Flamingo and turn right at Koval Lane and you should see Ellis Island next to a Super 8 Motel. Seems to be aimed more at the locals rather than the tourist although it's a good place for low minimum tables if money is a bit tight. The beer is cheap as well at just $1 for a 20oz (pint) measure. This price applies 24/7. Quality of beer is OK but nothing special, a number of microbrews are on offer that are brewed on site. A bit small and dingy but I'm sure it serves a purpose, the correlation with nearby properties on the strip is probably that akin to that between a working men's club and a large pub chain.
