Here on business. Don't seem may real ale outlets in warrington, and must be said none come up to the standards of the weatherspoons looking glass.
Found beers really good, staff very friendly, food good value for your money.

Located close to the town's market place this Spoon pub has 6 handpulls offering a wider selection of local and national ales including Milestone, Titanic, Batemans, Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best and Sharp's Doom Bar. A large open plan seating area downstairs is supplemented with a quieter upper level to the rear. One of the better Wetherspoons.

Never been a great lover of Wadsworth's, but the Henry's IPA Was in good form.
Very comfortable pub, with a front bar with a nice wood burning stove (and friendly dog!). Very welcoming landlady who with great interest gave me a brief history of the place. Worth a visit.

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury
What an imposing building. Got it's name apparently from housing the Christian pilgrims visiting the Abbey. Lots of mullioned windows, old furniture and tapestries. Several little bars off the main hallway and a great range of real ales. Was a bit spoilt for choice, Black Sheep, Otter and Tribute - all proving to be in good condition.

The Who'd A Thought It, Glastonbury
This was a pleasant surprise as the pub turned out to be a Palmers house. Apparently they never supply their beer to the free trade so it's only available in their own pubs. I choose the Dorset Gold, very nice!
Interesting collection of old enamel signs on the ceiling.
We decided to eat here and had a delicious steak and ale pie with homemade potato cakes, very tasty. Great to be able to enjoy a meal without any irritating background music.

Group of us visited Ludlow for the first time. Hotel bar is pleasant and has a lovely courtyard terrace.
Surprised to find 3 local ales, all excellent (Hobsons Old Prickly 4.2% being best pint of the day). Prices good and very friendly service.
Recommend a visit.

Group of us visited Ludlow for the first time. Been told about the Church, and was keen to visit.
Good selection of ale (decent pint Ludlow Gold 4.2%) both local and national. We found some ale was getting a little "tired" (possibly slow sellers?)
Pub is OK but looks a bit tatty. Ale prices reasonable, but wine expensive, warm and poor. Service was OK.

Nice suntrap of a garden. Only one ale, but decent quality. Service OK.

Fantastic terrace overlooking the river. Feels a bit more restaurant than pub, with public bar alienated from rest of establishment. Beer was OK, but nothing special.

Group of us visited Ludlow for the first time. Decent ales, with a good pint of Hobsons Best (3.8%). Service OK (to much chatting to friends/texting etc by bar staff). Place does seem more bar attached to large restaurant/eating area. Worth including in a visit.

Group of us visited Ludlow for the first time. Worst pub been in for a long time! Ale was undrinkable, place is noisy and full of drunken youths. Bar staff just not interested. Wouldn't recommend.

9 Gallon, Warrington
Former convenience store turned pub. Specialises in cask beer & cider and whiskeys. Has an island bar with 13 hand pumps (2 for cider) and only 1 keg lager (Brooklyn). Nice dark wood interior. Friendly and talkative staff. Value is very good. I hope to return to check this out again in the future.
