The Junction Hotel, Dorchester
No real cider so won't bother with this place again. indifferent staff, which take ages to serve you if they can be bothered at all despite the place being almost empty. I once complained there was lipstick on the inside of my glass and the young girl behind the bar wiped it off with her finger and gave the glass back to me... unbelievable The Blue Raddle or Tom Browns much nicer and sell real cider yum yum. Even the New George almost opposite is better than this place at least they sell Addlestones

Nice pub in the winter with a log fire and music some nights and in the summer it is a sun trap sat outside the backdoor on benches by the road. Friendly locals and good real draught cider, thatchers premium (hard to find this one these days) and the popular cheddar valley. Has a ghost which I have never seen but felt a cold spot there which was quite bizarre. Watch your change in here though as I have been short changed many a time and others too!

This is a really nice little bar that sells Stowford Press traditional cider. If you see my other posts you will lknow that I am a fan of this! Lisa, the landlady is really nice and friendly and so are the other staff. Not sure about the bearded trog haha. Cheap good quality food and free papers. Often packed in the evening when I go by.

The Bar On The Corner, Weymouth
this has been taken over by The Orange Cider Bar which sells some really good traditional ciders. In barrels are black rat and thatchers and another one I cant remember the name of. On draught are symmonds, my favourite, thatchers gold, old rosie, cheddar valley, old rascal, stowford press and strongbow for the wussies!
This is the best pub for cider that I have come across but that is where it stops.
The staff are friendly but its not a comfortable bar as it has stools around the edge with worktops and horrible shiny orange sofas which are difficult to get comfortable on. There are no curtains or blinds so anyone passing can see straight in which makes it feel a bit like being in a golfish bowl. It used to have curtains in the old pub which made it more homely. Clientele were heavy drinker types but friendly enough and have seen a younger crowd in the evening. 10/10 for cider anything else 2/10

No traditional cider on offer except Bulmers which I don't like. If it had traditional cider on I would probably come in here, as despite being a bit of a grotty hole, it had a certain charm about it. It looks like it ought to sell traditional cider!
It is on a busy main road so if you do come in here watch your step on the way out.

I popped in here whilst out on a walk at lunch time for a coffee
No traditional cider on sale
Reasonably priced food.
A group of middle aged women were the only other customers and were hassled almost to the point of rudeness by the landlady into ordering quickly.
I would agree with the person above who said the place has no atmosphere so I left and went up to The Old Ship which was much nicer and cheaper for food.

Addlestones on draught expensive at 3.10 a pint but well kept
Good range of cheap food
Free newspapers and amazing log fire
Unfortunately lets dogs in which I don't like when I am eating and also I am allergic to them so I didn't bother to eat there
Has live music some evenings

Portland Roads Hotel, Portland
Shabby local Castletown pub. No traditional cider here so went next door to another shabby local Castletown pub called the Royal Breakwater that did.

Cheap food.

Very impressed that it has 4 traditional ciders on draught. Stowford Press, New Forest, Westons and the lethal Cheddar Valley. Also does a cider festival some time in the summer which I found out about from a friendly local.
Plenty of mid range food on offer.

Great reasonably priced food
Brilliant view for sunsets
Friendly locals
No traditional ciders which is a shame. Please put one and you will be in my top 10 localpubs!

Does a nice pint of Stowford. I enjoy sitting outside in the sunshine after I have been shopping in the summer months. Very relaxing.

The Riflemans Arms, Glastonbury
I am coming to Glastonbury soon for my bi-annual visit and am wondering what cider you do on draught in here. I came here ages ago but Glastonbury is always very different each time I come. It seemed OK last time and is near the tour. I am happy to go in any pub really that serves proper cider and has a bit of live music. thanks for your help

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED BY THE FOOD AS I HAD HEARD IT WAS EXCELLENT
WE ORDERED DOVER SOLE AND SIDE SALAD FROM THE SPECIALS BOARD AND GOT SOME SORT OF FISH FINGERS WITH ROCKET SALAD - VERY POOR INDEED, NOT ENOUGH TO SATSIFY AN ANOREXIC
THE CIDER WAS EXCELLENT THOUGH - STOWFORD AND THE GARDEN WAS NICE AND NICE PUB TOO SHAME ABOUT THE FOOD
SETTING FOR THOMAS HARDY'S TESS OF THE DURBEVILLES NEARBY - A COTTAGE WHERE SHE RESTED IN THE STORY

I HAVE STAYED HERE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILST TOURING DARTMOOR. I FOUND THE FOOD AND DRINK OK, NOTHING SPECIAL BUT THE PUB IS FANTASTIC ANCIENT WITH MANY UNUSUAL FEATURES AND PART OF IT IS HAUNTED...WITH ORBS APPARENTLY - NEVER SAW ANY. THE LANDLADY, SALLY WAS VERY PLEASANT BUT HER HUSBAND WAS QUITE RUDE TO MY PARTNER, FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
WHILST STAYING THERE I ACTUALLY COULD FEEL THE GHOST OF SOMEONE IN DARK CLOTHES AND DARK HAIR AND THEY WERE QUITE SHORT AND STOCKY AND RATHER TOUCHY FEELY -MOST PECULIAR. THEY SHOULD SEND THE MOST HAUNTED TEAM THERE FOR SURE. THE CHURCH OPPOSITE HAS SHEELA=N-GIGS CARVINGS - INTERSTEING AND IN OCTOBER IT HAS MOST EXCELLENT MUSHROOMS GROWING ON DARTMOOR. ENJOY

The Cork and Bottle, Weymouth
A good pub for families right on the beach called Moby dicks now. Very overpriced fish and chips and no real cider any more. Used to do Addlestones.
Nice and clean and friendly staff but screaming kids arent my thing!
