The Halfway House Inn, Tavistock
Visited yesterday. Very warm welcome and dog friendly.
2 beers on Tribute and Tribute extra, the Tribute was very acceptable although a bit on the expensive side.
Food was good although the menu was a bit basic, no complaints though.
Worth a visit especially now that the path from the Drakes Way cycle path is open.

Decent enough pub recently refurbished with several TV's and a large screen.
3 ales on the best of which I can't pronounce but was Cornish for Longboat.
Worth a visit

Ok

No frills in this one but beer decent enough. Bays Topsail and another wheat beer which was very acceptable.

Only 2 beers on Tribute and Dartmoor the latter of which was a bit wishy washy.
OK

Not bad little pub but a bit sparse and wooden.
Decent pint of Spingo and the only other offering was Doombar.
Not bad.

Very nice little pub this one with pleasant bar staff.
Brew their own beer and the SPA and St Michael's that were on at the time of our visit were very acceptable.
Food looked decent to.
Recommended.

Good atmosphere in this pub with live music. Visited on a Thursday night which was obviously student night. Beer not up to much though, the Jail ale and Doombar were very average plenty of Guiness on offer not surprising as it's an Irish bar.

London Inn, Horrabridge Yelverton
Visited the London Inn yesterday.
Made to feel very welcome, and even some treats for the dog.
4 Ales on offer, the Jail Ale was very acceptable. The food was good and reasonably priced.
Well worth a visit.

Awful pub. When you can find the bar staff they are rude and unhelpful.
The best choice of beer is the "Available Soon" as the rest is not up to much.
Food is dire so don't bother eating here.

Top notch pub especially as it is a JDW.
This pub breaks the JDW mold as the staff are polite and helpfull, the beer is kept well with plenty of choice.
Separate large family dining area which gets very busy, unusually the food is pretty good.
Definitely one of JDW's best, well worth a visit.

Large city centre pub full of Chavs ok for a quick pint lunch time but well avoided in the evening as full of clubbers and loud music.
Beer is very hit and miss although the Skinners Heligan Honey on tap on my visit was quite acceptable. Food not up to much.

The Talbot Inn, Berwick St John
Excellent Country Pub with a good choice of beer, Ringwood Best, Sixpenny IPA and 6X.
Run by a very pleasant couple and Labradoodle. Extensive menu and food quality very good, you would be well advised to book in advance in the evening and at weekends.
Dogs welcome in the bar area.

A very characteristic pub especially the orangery.
Beer generally good with a fair choice between the two bars. Although busy (mainly students) service was pretty good by JDW standards.
Definitely one of the better JDW pubs worth a visit and only a short walk up the hill from the satation.

Nice pup to visit on a sunny day, very pleasant beer garden.
Beer limited to Tribute and Betty Stogs but the Betty was very acceptable.
Food was very good (if you like fish) but a bit pricey.
Recommended.
