user reviews of the Quay Inn, Instow

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

These reviews are all pretty old.. Now called The Quay inn again, and very pleasant... interior is contemporary, three real ales, Doom bar, Something else and a well kept Dartmoor Jail ale.. If you visit in the late afternoon/evening, you can use plastic glasses and sit on the estuary promenade, where the views to Appledore are stunning..The landlord actually puts a row of camping chairs for this purpose..

'mada', get thee to The Boathouse at the other end of the beach. You're welcome.

Now called THE BAR. Called in for a coffee, while we were there a customer was loudly complaining about the wait for food. two groups of people sitting outside said they had problems with very slow service. about two months ago we failed to get served after waiting for 45 minutes for food. Suggest you go elsewhere until they get their act together

Smallish boozer with great views of the estuary. Bit knackered on the inside, but has a certain charm. The Quay has a reputation locally for being a bit cliquey, but I've never found that to be the case. Instow is a lovely place, and there aren't many better ways to spend an afternoon than sitting in the sun on the benches out the front of the Quay, gazing across the Torridge, with a pint of Inch's cider in easy reach.
