Blue Ball, Braunston

Lovely pub in what can only be described as quintessential English countryside. The Blue Ball now has new Asian owners who run the pub as the traditional pub it is, but offer some Indian food on the menu.. we visited on a quiet October Saturday and we’re really impressed.. 2 good real ales, I had the Fullers London Pride which was well kept... The food is excellent... What I liked is that I had a chicken shashlik, whilst my wife had a Belly pork (total east/west combination), but both were amazingly good and well priced. I’ll definitely visit again, an would highly recommend...

The Beehive, Earsdon

Not sure why there isn’t any reviews of this pub... we stayed for a week in Whitley bay, and this got recommended numerous times.. It is quite rural, and has a lovely beer garden. The pub is massively dog friendly and quirky inside with lots of smaller rooms with nooks and crannies... The food is amazing... good honest menu with quite large portions, at a reasonable price for the quality.. Very attentive, friendly staff that can’t help you enough... I’m not sure how many real ales were on, but, in what can be an area not famed for real ale, the Mr Bojangles by Hadrian Border Brewery was superb...

Salutation Inn, Tynemouth

Nice enough pub, a little to light and cafe bar inside for my taste, but plenty of decent beers, a lot from Anarchy brewery. Not dog friendly inside, only in the courtyard garden.
