A free house.

The pub closed for about a year and then reopened under a new owner about 8 months ago. The interior has been completely revamped and is very pleasant. The interior consists of one bar with a large area set out with tables to have drinks at or bar meals. There is a separate area set out for eating. Outside there is a beer garden with a children's play area.
Warm welcome from the barmaid and had four beers on tap at time of visit including a very good pint of Butcombe.

Well worth a detour.

This pub has recentley been taken over by a new landlord and I have to say has somehow lost the friendly atmosphere that it used to have, there was a young barmaid who loved herself to much and the beer wasnt that good either....sad... but hay-ho it may pick up with time.

Nice country pub set off the main road in the centre of a pretty village (from what we could see - it was dark!). Reasonably popular with around 20 customers , it also had a good ale range - Sharps Doom Bar, Springo Blue Anchor, Penzance Potion No.9 & Brisons Bitter & St Austell Dartmoor Bitter, plus Addlestones cider. Worth a detour.

What a superb pub. Excellent beer, good food and a cathedral among smoking shelters. Dog-friendly, no idiots, warm and cosy, the list goes on. I've never done this before but credit where it's due; a perfect 10.

We weren't in the place long enough to soak up the atmosphere - something I shall put right next year when I'm in Cornwall. The locals eyed us up and down as we entered - I take it this is a locals type establishement. The barman was polite. Had a pint of Stogs. It was good. Large bar area with several ales on at time of visiting. Need to spend longer in here really. Gives me an excuse to do just this another time...
