The White Horse, Westbury on Trym

The main bar and snugs are wood-panelled and full of character. I've never had a bad pint here. However, the atmosphere and clientele make a drink in here a profoundly depressing experience.

The Foresters, Bristol

Closed now; going to be converted to a Tesco Express, a fate that has befallen quite a few Bristol pubs. As I posted a few years ago, this could have been a good pub but as things ended up, it's no great loss.

The Black Swan, Westbury on Trym

Pleasant pub, recently taken over. Three real ales, Courage Best and Doom Bar are constant and the other is a guest beer, usually from small local breweries. The is a blackboard where you can put in your guest beer requests. Good value lunchtime food and the landlord makes his own Scotch Eggs.
