Really good visit to this wonderfully sited pub. I'm guess the general and ordinary will get no farther than the Harbour pub but this is well worth the stroll round to the other side. If you like your real ale, superb fish and tremendous views this is the venue to head for. And it's seriously old too. Beers on were two from Rebel micro and Skinners pale ale.

Whereas the Harbour attracts the tourists, The Ship has a more local feel, but still welcomes all... The pub is quirky, bordering on the "needs a lick of paint" side, but pleasant enough. A beer matt collection on the roof and other interesting relics around. Good Beer selection - Sharps Doom bar and Coaster IPA, Skinners Porthleven Untameable Pale ale and The Rebel brewing Companys IPA (surfbum I think). Tiered beer garden with great views.

Decent pub, popped in here last saturday evening, busy and good stmosphere, attracts the locals but welcomes tourists too. Mixture of people eating and drinking, i didnt try the food but it looked and smelt good.
has a great beer garden in the summer overlooking the harbour, inside it can be a little cramped and hard to find a table when busy, interesting place inside though, hundreds of different foreign and old coins stuck to the beams on the bar, and roof covered in beermats.

dont know what ales were on as I drink lager myself, Sharps cornish pilsner and Cobra are the highlights on the draught selection.

Interesting old building. Was busy with a mixture of locals and tourists when we visited. Beer by Skinners. Pleasant IPA with a surfer themed name (Cant remember tho.) Food was fine, but a little spoiled by the chap next to us who couldn't decide how hot his wife's fish pie should be..... The young waiter didn't help, by trying to tell him the cook was a professional, and if they ordered again they should specify that they wanted their food to be hot!

Great pub in a top location at the harbour entrance with good sea views from inside and out and a good atmosphere - seems to attract the fishermen and genuine locals but very welcoming.
3/4 ales on including our ale of choice - Porthleven - which is brewed for them by Skinners and is an easy drinking 4.8% IPA.
We also had the best cheese board we've ever had and the food in general looked good and reasonably priced.
