Place is freezing including my room...Why is the fire not lit in the bar!? Ordered the pate with WARM toast to be given brittle small pieces of toast that looked like they came out of a packet....asked if I could have something warm as per the menu to be offered a ciabatta that would take 5-6 minutes. Not ideal. To add insult to injury the ciabatta was added to the bill.... Nearly £4..When I questioned why it was added I was told "our customers have requested cold toast so that's how we now serve it" ... Suggestion.. CHANGE your menu to read "toast" NOT "warm toast"! Technically false advertising! Still a little in shock that the proprietor had an attitude and essentially argued with me..which I conveyed to him to be met with more attitude! Essentially I was told to shut up. I actually felt quite threatened as a single female staying alone.. I stay in Bristol a few times a month and spend at least 45/50% of my week in hotels and I have never been met with such shocking behaviour anywhere in the world! I will avoid this place like the plague! Absolutely disgusting customer service. Do yourself a favour and get out of the hospitality trade or avoid being front of house!! gems2601 - 18 Feb 2016 15:20 |
Delightful village pub under new management. Open for just five weeks, the new owners have already made their own individual mark. Stylish and atmospheric with cosy interior and beautiful gardens overlooking Bristol. Friendly, courteous staff and delicious, locally sourced food - the chef certainly knows his stuff. (Try the divine "to die for" Sticky Toffee Pudding!!). The pub is a five minute drive from the airport so great for an overnight stay in one of the two comfortable and well appointed rooms should you have an early flight. Winter visits will be equally inviting with lunch, dinner or a leisurely drink by the open fire. All in all, a great find and one I shall be returning to many times. Carlynn - 15 Jul 2013 16:06 |
.... oh I forgot to mention I had the most fantastic Sunday Roast yesterday with my friend and the roast potatoes were just perfect especcially as this is the most important dish on my plate when it comes to a roast dinner and the Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for :-) well done Chef Swain - 15 Jul 2013 11:43 |
Beautiful location and excellent food and friendly staff -would recommend this pub for any occasion and at this time of year it has an excellent garden with views. This is an excellent location to stay the night before an early flight from Bristol Airport - Will be back guys. Christine Swain - 15 Jul 2013 11:38 |
