If you can see past the modern 'old' decor it isn't too bad a pub. The Brakespears was drinkable and it was preferable to the Three Tuns. It seems that the pub's here have their own distinct following and people tend togo to one and not the others. anonymous - 18 Oct 2009 20:46 |
A less than busy Friday, but the beef lasagne was 'out of stock' The curry of the day was a generic chef's curry, and turned out to be bits of chicken in a rather gloppy curry sauce, with rice well cooked, and the only 'fire' from a dusting of cayenne pepper, plus a dish of sweet mango chutney. The Brake's best was good though - and welcome after a 2 hour or so walk from Souldern. zorrodp - 9 May 2007 18:33 |
When I saw the menu I wished I had eaten in this pub. It was busy and seemed popular with the locals. Reckon there was not a lot of call for real ale as the only one on offer, Brakspear Bitter seemed a little past its best. gillhalfpint - 29 Mar 2007 12:39 |
Used to be a really good pub, until it got taken over. If you want to be served by an arrogant landlord then pay it a visit if not then pootle on down to the Butchers Arms anonymous - 8 May 2006 12:40 |
What can I say, I stopped going to the White Horse when it became a trendy wine bar, more suited to Kensington High St. than the pretty little village of Kings Sutton. It has now been taken over and has reverted to a real pub. But,you can not only enjoy friendly hostpitallity but also excellent food at reasonable prices served in a well appointed resturant area. This pub is not to be missed. P.S. Save room for the apple crumble Maxclinder - 5 Feb 2006 11:18 |
