Ventured to this pub several times previous and always been very pleased so decided to pop there for our sunday lunch. Has to be said not the best visit as was a bit cramped and busy to propery enjoy your dinner. Nether the less still had a fine selection of ales on including the guest one i can't remember the name of. Its a lovely pub with a great exterior with a country feel to it. Staff always been helpful and friendly. When passing over that way i always make a point of popping in; no pun intented :) yamyampublover - 11 Oct 2012 11:20 |
Bar is nice and traditional with good choice of real ale. Dining area not that nice and food was just edible. Beware of the Veg Roast option on the Sunday lunch menu - its a con! for this, all you get are the vegetables which you would have got with a meat option and NOT, as the menu would have you believe, a veg roast with vegetables. The menu states that all main courses are served with seasonal vegetables - it didn't say that the veg roast option consists just of seasonal vegetables alone! Its the same price as the meat option, so its a rip off! The menu should be rewritten to stop misleading customers. Gourmetcat - 12 Jun 2011 19:45 |
I visit The Plough now and again, usually to have a meal - the bar staff are friendly and helpful. As mentioned previously, the Black Sheep is excellent, as is the Banks's. The food is above average, fairly priced, and I can recommend the homemade steak pie. 7/10 TazzyBoy - 18 May 2010 13:00 |
Four standard 'syndicated' beers on offer but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Black Sheep which was eminently drinkable. Emphasis on dining but plenty of corners for drinkers to inhabit. Staff were quite pleasant and friendly and the 717 bus stops right outside anonymous - 30 Jan 2010 23:21 |
This pub is a good and friendly remnant of the old 'Warwick' culture. We were well received and staff wrre friendly. arkaye - 21 Nov 2009 03:45 |
