Wow, what a transformation! When I was growing up the King Richard III was a real boozer, but Everards has now cashed in on its location… As the High cross has engulfed this part of the city, the pub is now in the heart of the shopping and eating areas… From grimy carpets, tiled floors and fruit machine, it is now stripped wooden floorboards, candles, home-made crisps etc… I don''t like to see these old pubs go, but In all fairness to Everards, it has been very tastefully refurbished and you couldn’t argue with the fantastic ales and great food, all served by very knowledgeable staff in a great ambience. The front windows totally open onto the street, giving an open feeling, and there a smaller rooms to the back. There is even a nice courtyard to the side… I cant remember all the beers, but certainly Original, Sunchaser, Tiger, chilled Purity Longhorn IPA and a Saison farmhouse-style ale. Who would have thought it; You will be telling me next Leicester City will win the Premier League! Keep the faith…

Visited on Good Friday less than a week after it had reopened following its makeover. No longer is it a traditional local but it's now a smart, bright, modern-looking pub with some original features retained (go to the top of the stairs to see a superb example of Victoriana). Food menu looked so imaginative that we cancelled our lunch booking next door and glad we did so. The Framework Pale Ale was excellent too. Whilst it may now have joined the nearby café culture experience so decried by a previous reviewer, that didn't concern me given the quality of the food/beer/service.

A real local's atmosphere, without the hostility sometimes felt in such places. A fine pint of Everard's Tiger @ 2.95, friendly bar folk; perhaps not a tourist magnet but worth seeking out for a real English pub experience.

Very locals local. Pool in the front bar and a darts tournament in the back. Very sporting pub. Everards Yakima was in good nick, at £2.75, March 2013.

A proper, traditional pub. Ok, the pool table is a bit strange in the front room but it does have a cracking beer garden/smoking area at the side of the building. Also has a dart board which very few pubs have nowadays. Had a few pints of Tiger which was in great form and only 2.50 per pint (30/05/09). A great contrast to the poncy tapas and cafe culture bollox across the road in the Highcross "shopping experience".
