A clinical feel to this place now and borderline restaurant rather than a pub.

Great view of course and handy for the bus stop but didn't really feel comfortable just drinking in here.

5/10

Skinners Lushington very nice on last visit.. My wife was mortified at first, because no Rattler cider... However, if you are a cider drinker, try the Cornish orchards gold; very nice sparkling cider with a slight 'farmyard' taste.

I have visited the Godolphin a couple of times over the past 10 years or so, and thought it looked a bit tired on my last visit. I can now report that this pub has had a massive (and costly) make over, and is now very contemporary within. I have to say I did have initial reservations, because I didn't want it to have an "aloof" feel, but my wife loves the setting, and it's great kids can play on the beach if you sit on the large outer terrace. Happily i can thoroughly recommend The Godolphin, the staff were friendly and helpful & food was top notch and not really any pricier than other pubs (try the sharing shellfish platter). Real ales were Skinners Betty stoggs, St.Austell Tribute along with a chilled St.Austell "proper cool IPA", which was refreshing for a tap beer...

Newly-opened pub/restaurant is outstanding. I couldn't fault it. The service is very good, it's got some good beers and wines, the setting is amazing given a bit of sunshine, and the food is properly nice. It caters for everyone, if you want food or just a drink. We came back twice while on holiday and I really hope it doesn't go downhill from here, because you couldn't ask for any more.

Currently undergoing what looks like a major refurbishment.

I didn't like the old Godolphin - too many things were going on - but I suspect that the new version will be worth a look.

Called in on Saturday, however the pub was rammed with a wedding, but still got quick and attentive service, The ale was top notch, and our dog received doggy treats and water without having to ask.

Further more, the Landlord made time for us, for a 5 minute chat, whilst ensuring everyone got served promptly.

From one Pub Landlord to another......excellent pub

Yet another DOG FRIENDLY

Patently designed to part the tourist from their hard-earned/scrounged, the views over to St Michael's Mount are everything. With few customers in when I arrived, the staff were more interested in talking about their relationships with their boy/girl friends.

A standard of range of St Austell supplied ales.

There are better pubs in Marazion. The owners / managers know it but are too busy counting the money to care.

found the service to be very slow, the place is a bit soulless

A great location, of course, but, if you want to go to the Gig Bar, you can never be sure if it's shut because there's a function or the landlady has booked all the tables or moved them for a quiz night, a band or a football match so it's hopeless to go their on spec (especially since the tables are packed away for any such event hours in advance, for some reason). It's a shame and must lose money, since the people who book don't have to arrive until just before the event starts and other people are turned away and don't come back.

Excellent carvery on a Sunday. 8.95 per person with choice of two meats each week, always beef and one other. Food served nice and hot with a good selection of vegetables. Nice selection of deserts, Chocolate fudge cake and lemon tart highly recommended. Lovely views over St Michaels mount. Good atmosphere, would have been nice if we could have ordered drinks at the table instead of waiting so long at the busy bar in the next room. Not a big problem though. Will deffinately return again soon.

Cannnot fault the views, but this place is a bit of a monstrosity. Sky-Sports, all-you-can-eat curry nights and kitted out with a 'themed' maritime bar, the Godolphin is a mish-mash of a 'pub/hotel'. It doesn't know what it is, and it's clearly making too much money by way of its location.

The Godolphin has the major advantage of sitting in one of the counties most scenic spots with stunning views across the causeway to St Michaels Mount and Mounts Bay. The huge hotel dominates the foreshaw and consists of various bars, lounges and dining sections all geared up to cope with the huge crowds that arrive in the tourist season. The main entrance is through a reception area that leads to the large main bar and dining room. This section is rather dull and formulaic with little character although the local revolving artwork may be of interest to some. But there are several window seats where you can admire the sensational views. There are 2 separate drink and food bars on the drink side there were 2 Ales (Doom Bar & Tribute) with 2 further pumps unused. I would expect there to be more available in peak periods. For such a tourist hot spot, prices were very reasonable. There are daily food specials (Thursday Curry, Friday Fish and Saturday Steak) but as my budget only stretches to the pastie shop down the road, I didnt eat here. Service was friendlyand efficient but I can imagine that in the heat of summer they would need to manage the place like a military operation. Down stairs to the left of the main bar leads to a lower level with a large modern lounge and a more pubby Gig bar with pool table and large plasma screen primarily for sport. There is also a disappointly limited amount of outside seating given the views to be had. After a few hours enduring the cobbles of the mount and the casle, this is a decent enough place to unwind and as long as you keep looking out to sea, what the pub is like wont matter.

Great food and the Doombar went down a treat. Sat outside in early April and the weather was fantastic - brill views from the beer garden.

Had a nice afternoon in here last June.
Walked out to the Mount and had a nice couple of pints and a sandwich. Heard good reports of the food from the owners of the B&B I stayed at in Penzance, if staying there have a walk around the bay, visit the Castle on the top of the Mount, tide permitting, and finish your day off with a soothing pint (or two) and catch the regular bus back.

Nothing spectacular about this pub in itself, but with plenty of character and a view that takes in St Michaels Mount you can't go wrong. Downstairs bar and outside drinking area a boon in the summer. The locals choice.
Good for: Pre 'The Barn' drinks.
