This is one of my favourite places to go out in North London, went to Proud's kitchen restaraunt last Friday and had a brilliant evening of entertainment and dinner with my sister. We got free entry into the club afterwards and the bars are pretty cool. A must for all Londoners!

I love this place!! I went last Thursday. Great bands and DJ's, cheap drinks and loads of hot girls. What more can you possibly want?

Pretty cool. The club is pretty with lots of twinkie lights. Massive smoking terrace with BBQ going, seating areas that are all themed and karaoke. Main room everyone is dancing and its nice and dark + smoky which helps everyone look extra attractive! Lots of variety music wise.. .mostly tunes to keep you dancing which can't be bad.

Can't believe I'd never been here before ... I went down last Thursday to see live favourites of mine BONES, who ended up having awesome support .. ALL FOR FREE. Proceeded to get drunk on drink deals and wonder around the venue. There are three rooms, two which play live music and have awesome DJs, and one which is a kind of walkway with a bar on one side and stables on the other, amazing! All the stables were booked up so I wasn't allowed to go and investigate but they looked amazing and I'm definitely getting in on that action in the future.

I would not recommend the proud galleries. The staff and management were really rude to us whne i booked a stable for the evening. They charge a lot of money and the service was very poor. they also lied about things when my boyfriend queried our payment arrangements so i would be very cautious about going here

No reviews for 11 months, and then the last FIVE reviews were all made in the space of a day, are REALLY enthusiastic and made by new users who haven't reviewed anywhere else. You might almost be tempted to think something peculiar was going on...

I went there last Thursday to see I Blame Coco. It was the first time I went to Proud Camden, and I was amazed by the place which is soo beautiful! We had so much fun, enjoying the gig, and then a bit of Karaoke in one of the Stable.
Next time I will definitely try the new restaurant they just opened in the other room !

Read some of the shit reviews on here and cannot believe it! I had such a wicked night at Proud, music was great and the blonde jesus herself lady Gaga made an appearance with a rather smacked up looking Mischa Barton.. chuffed!

Most unique venue in the City. Best live music, best club nights in one of my favourite areas of London!

Have some ok nights on here but service is terrible! Great space and very inventive use of some old horse stables. Really miss the market though!!!
Worth checking out early week when it's a bit quieter.

I was told that it was 5 to get in before 9pm. The people in front of us paid 5 each. We got to the door at 8:45pm and were charged 10 each!!!!! The girls behind us paid nothing and some of our friends who arrive an hour after us paid 8!!!!!! What the hell is that all about?? And when we tried to query it, each member of staff we asked claimed it had nothing to do with them and that it was the lady on the door who decided. When asked her, she blamed another colleague!! What a joke!!!! Very expensive drinks inside too! Don't waste your time with this place!

Stuck up bar staff, rude management and over priced drinks. Try it for yourself and I can guarantee you'll have the same experience! Crap

What a massive disappointment from a venue with such potential. If Proud chose to be less up-itself then it could be a nice choice for a night out, but I had one of the worst evenings I've had in a very long time on my visit there.

My main objection to Proud is the way that it tries to gouge its customers - not just over-priced drinks, but that fact that on our visit there, *all* seating was reserved. We found one table in the corner that wasn't, just to be moved about an hour later by the door staff because 'somebody had paid extra to get a table'. Seriously? A venue where the only way to get a seat is to pay extra? Is Proud trying to model itself on Ryanair?

The stables were a nice feature, but again, every single booth was reserved and thus the only option is to stand in the corridor between them. The other rooms feel like sitting in a church hall (well, they would, if you weren't standing up).

All in all, I wondered how a bar that has two sterile rooms, unfriendly bar staff and considers seating to be a paid-for optional extra can charge an entrance fee and 3.50 for a selection of weak American beers. What a dire place, made worse by the fact that in the right hands it could have quite a lot of potential.

I love the concept of this place. Totally original and well executed. In addition the sound in the live music and exhibition room is cock on, which is often overlooked where styling of a venue is concerned.

However, I'm not so keen on the people within it! The staff are rude and outrageously pretentious.

3 examples;
1/ Being made to queue behinnd a barrier by jobsworth doorman when there's no one else there. Why??
2/ Being sneered at by (I must add, very attractive) bar staff when pointing out that my 3.50 bottle of beer was warm. Cold beer is the first thing a bar should get right and I didn't ask you to stick it up your ar$e! why the sour face?
3/ Bog troll - whilst the "freshen up, freshen up" man was pleasant, it's Camden! people don't want to pay 1 for the 'privelidge' of washing their hands, and I don't need help doing it either, I learnt how to wash my hands when I was 3 thank you. Moreover, the toilets stink! sort that one out first before employing Mayfair-esque policies such as toilet attendants

Anyway, rant over. Proud is an excellent concept, if they could iron out a few basics and stop taking themselves so seriously (one of the fundamentals of rock n roll and art is that it is effortlessly cool, stop trying so hard)

Hmm... isn't it strange that the negative comments below have been removed, and on the very same day two highly positive ones have appeared, both from people who registered specially to do so. What's wrong, Proud? Can't you take criticism?

I had a totally awful evening at Proud. One of the bartenders managed to pour almost an entire bottle of wine over my mate, and didn't even apologise. The staff were *rubbish* - perhaps not surprising, given their adverts on Gumtree ask potential applicants to send in a 'sexy photo'. That certainly gives the impression that they're more concerned with looks than customer service skills.

That might also explain why it took so long to get served.

Avoid!

Loved Proud on Thursday night - Smash and Grab migrated over to Camden! And I can see why because being a fan of this night from before they have finally gone all out and exploited all that this venue in particular has to offer.
The stables are amazing and it's so cool to sit it a seperate room, where you are served by a very spritely hostess.
The drinks may not be the cheapest but it's certainly compensated by the location and the venue by far - where else in London would you be able to find such an interesting building and with such an eclectic collection of nights along with the eccentric decoration where there's always something to look at but in the cosmopolite and sometimes contradictory Camden?

This place is amazingly special and can not be judged on a grumpy security guard. The nights i've been there have been lovely.. and each night is totally different.. . drinks are standard prices. Good bands, good DJ's, beautiful venue, great people watching. Def a 10! yay.

We like to read what everyone has to say and hope to always try and improve. I think my staff are amonst the politest in London and we have alway tried not to be like West End clubs, so obviously it is dissapointing to read people who have had a bad night. I am not sure there is much need for personal insults, and the story about the coffee made me laugh as 1) I dont drink Coffee 2) I drink tea made from a kettle in our office... I am not sure why someone who tell such an absurd lie. My office staff have worked for 2 - 6 years for me, around 8 of them. Not sure it can be than bad! Also i laughed at the under age drinkers comment as people complain as we insisit on photo ID at the door. People are only ever removed from the club if they are abusve of violant. As 700 people are watching it does not pay to throw someone out for complainging, and anyway we take complaints seriously.
Anyhow, I am sorry a few of you did not enjoy or like the place and we honestly do try to listen to what people say and will take the sensible comments on board
Best of Luck

This place has the potential to be great, but sadly I fear it will never live up to that potential. There are basically three "rooms" (one with old stables you can hire out, one with space for a band and one that's a bit trendy disco) which should mean there's something for everyone. However, even early on in the night, the music is so loud you can barely hear you or your friends speak which is no use when the place is still filling up and you want a chat. There are three bars which tend to get quite busy, but a complete lack of anything on draught means you get served quite quickly. Oh, but bottles are 3.50 a pop... that's going to be an expensive night out then! On leaving, we passed a bouncer-type on the door who overheard us bemoaning the drinks prices and lack of draught beer and proceeded to argue the toss - classy. A nice building and location, which is let down by, errrm, everything else.
