Cracking little bar just off the main drag of Grafton Street. Had a beer from a brewery called Five Lamps, a new one to me. It was quiet when I was in on Sunday afternoon (17/02/13). One of the most historic pubs I've been in.

Love it, possibly my favourite pub in the world. Good enough for Brendan Behan, good enough for me!!

First Dublin trip last week. Made it a point to find the 7 or 8 true, long lasting old style boozers. Just off Grafton St. During the day we had a run at the place. Says est. 1779, and was used as the city morgue for a time. The Guinness in Dublin is so different than anywhere in the world I've been ruined!!!

Large single-room pub with stools and ledges as you enter and low tables and chairs further back. The pub has a high ceiling, with stained glass windows and wooden floors. There is a lot of dark wood and some beautiful tiling below the bar counter and around the walls depicting flowers and birds. A large section of tiling behind the bar declares the pub's name. Some partitioning near the back affords some privacy. For the drinks selection refer to previous reviews! Well worth a visit.

Always on my list of great pubs in lovely Dublin! Staff keeps the pints coming although it does get crowded quickly. One of Dublin's finest for sure.

I've lost count of all the good times I've had in this establishment over the years. Seen bands play the blues and punters playing the booze and there's one of the best pubs in Dublin for you!

Considering its position -it doesn't get too rammed during the day, although no matter what time you go,you'll always get literary enthusiasts coming in for a quick scan at one of Behans main drinking dens. Small pub with big windows, gives it a great deal of light during the day.Tends to get a lot of 1 pint tourists,so it can fill up and empty within half an hour.

Used to be a jazz session on a Monday night, which was fairly cool. I have not been impressed on the odd occasion that I have dropped in recently. There are better pubs nearby.

The best pub I found in Dublin, split over several levels of crazy little rooms, original interior with Guiness as good as it gets (certainly a ton better than what we get here in England). No blaring music either.
Jammed most evenings so get there early for a table.
