Cracking little bar just off the main drag of Grafton Street. Had a beer from a brewery called Five Lamps, a new one to me. It was quiet when I was in on Sunday afternoon (17/02/13). One of the most historic pubs I've been in. zipdiskdude - 21 Feb 2013 13:08 |
Love it, possibly my favourite pub in the world. Good enough for Brendan Behan, good enough for me!! LuckyEric - 16 Apr 2012 16:28 |
First Dublin trip last week. Made it a point to find the 7 or 8 true, long lasting old style boozers. Just off Grafton St. During the day we had a run at the place. Says est. 1779, and was used as the city morgue for a time. The Guinness in Dublin is so different than anywhere in the world I've been ruined!!! richardo - 16 Mar 2010 20:13 |
Large single-room pub with stools and ledges as you enter and low tables and chairs further back. The pub has a high ceiling, with stained glass windows and wooden floors. There is a lot of dark wood and some beautiful tiling below the bar counter and around the walls depicting flowers and birds. A large section of tiling behind the bar declares the pub's name. Some partitioning near the back affords some privacy. For the drinks selection refer to previous reviews! Well worth a visit. holbornboy - 16 Mar 2010 20:01 |
Always on my list of great pubs in lovely Dublin! Staff keeps the pints coming although it does get crowded quickly. One of Dublin's finest for sure. fr21555 - 10 Feb 2008 03:15 |
