Seven years since I was last here. Pretty much the same as then, with a range of Okell's and guest ales. The food menu (now??) seems a bit mainstream. Decent enough pun in a nice location. 8/10.

This pub has a nice location next to the tram terminus. Although they don't appear to operate during the winter. The inside was well kept. It was quite busy early on Saturday evening. Many people were eating. We had to settle for a table at the rear of the bar. Okells MPA, Bitter & St Nick were the ales. Could have done with a better ale selection. But otherwise, a nice pub.

Nice to see that very little has changed in the past 15 years, when I last visited. Walked in and was made welcome by both staff and locals. The Okells was still as good as I remember it, the bar snacks arrived quickly and the trams still stop outside!

Although wholly different in character, for reasons of ambience probably my favourite Douglas pub since the Corner House closed around 2008. Good beer and food too.
|
The beer was consistently good and certainly the best value, tasty pub grub we experienced in Douglas. When a certain young lady was directing traffic it seemed to function at its best. Very handy for the Tram Cranks!!

Large pub with outdoor seating next to the Manx Electric Railway and horse tram termini. Okells Bitter and Alt plus a guest (London Pride replaced next day with Marston's Father Time when we visited). Prices from 2.65.
Seperate pool room. Background music. Service was a little poor during food serving times but not annoyingly so.
|
Lovely pub with friendly staff. It can be reached by bus, or the Manx Electric Trams as they stop at the door. Enjoyed Okells Red and Okells Alt, both superb condition. Seating outside popular, great for people watching as the trams roll in.
|
Nice pub especially when it's sunny, sit outside and watch the trams go back and forth, a great location. Decent pint of real ale. Outside there are council public toilets, initially I thought they were the pub's toilets as they are actually nearer to you if you're sitting in the beer garden.

Lovely sunny day so I didn't see much of the pub but watched life pass by on the coastal road and the electric railway. Good beers from the ubiquitous Okells.
|
Very comfortable and nicely decorated in a standard pub-type manner. Looks like it's just undergone a refurb. Handy for when you've come off the electric railway gasping for a drink. Well kept Okells.

Good location for watching the horse trams turn around at the far end of the promenade. Good outdoor seating area at the front of the pub with a good floral display. OK pint of local beer. Food good with good sized portions. Toilets very clean. Shame so many plates of dirty dishes left on the tables and not cleared away.
|
This is an excellent pub! A decent selection of cask ales, food served in HUGE portions, friendly staff - and the locals are really welcoming. [I know that's the case across the Island.] With it's beer garden fronting on to the horse and electric tram termini this is a great place to relax. Another 'must visit' on the Island.

I had a lovely visit here this week. The location is nice, on the promenade, sitting watching the trams pull up. On the bar there was three hand pulled beers, I tried a couple of pints of Okells Mild, very good. The couple behind the bar were relief managers, but were friendly and quick. Also had some really decent value, simple pub grub here.
|
A good place. Ideal for tram watching and just watching the sea and boats. Well kept Okells
|
Well worth a visit.
Right next to the termini of both the electric railway and the horse drawn tramway. At the far end of the prom so away from the busier end of town and a little quieter. The outdoor seating gives good views of the bay.
Well kept Oakells cask ales and excellent quality and value food.

If you are hungry and don't have too much of the silver stuff, this is the place, gorgeous food reasonably priced and a lovely view tooooo!

Nice pub with good beer and friendly landlord.

I don't have many regular places in Douglas but this is one of them. Not only the beer but the food is good and, in summer, the al fresco seating is welcome. Not only a good place to wait for the MER Electric Tramway or Horse Trams
