I am a post-grad at York University, and based pretty much all the time in York. Because of this, most of my comments etc. apply to the York area, but I love to nip into the occasional pub while travelling, walking or seeing friends.
I have to admit to a preference for what I would describe as "proper" pubs, but like good bars, and more nightlife orientated places as well.
I also particularly enjoy good beers, of the none mainstream variety, real-ale and good pub grub.
