The Arbiter, Fulham

Great pub, finally there's somewhere decent on the North End Road. It's not poncey, just nice and relaxed. They have a great range of whiskies and a good looking food menu.

The Cittie of Yorke, Holborn

This pub is absolute class. The surroundings are incredible - apparently the main bar dates from 1650 and prostitutes would walk the upper galleries parading themselves for the punters below. None of that goes on now unfortunately but the barmaid was happy to tell us all about it. The beer range is good and decent value and I'll certainly be back soon. Highly recommended.

The Kings Head, Earls Court

Quality pub hidden away from the hubbub of Earls Court. It's always busy which can mean seats can sometimes be difficult to find but it's worth persevering. The beer selection is very good and the food is excellent - I recommend the steak pie. One drawback is that although the waitresses are very sweet their English can sometimes be almost non-existent which means that ordering can sometimes be an interesting experience...

The Greyhound, Kensington

Something very odd seems to be happening with the ratings for this pub - all the reviews are good yet it's stuck under 5 out of 10. Anyway for what it's worth me and my friends have just discovered this pub set in a really nice square, and we're all agreed that it's great. The big screen is excellent and there's a good atmosphere for the football when it gets quite crowded.

The Grid Inn, Southfields

Really nasty pub. Went there on a friday night - regulars unfriendly to the point of hostility, all the tables taken up with either old men or the chav brigade. We decided to leave as quickly as possible, but had to wait 5 minutes because there was a fight going on at the entrance so we couldn't get out. Nice.

Kavanagh's Irish Bar, South Kensington

Not a bad pub. Very friendly bar staff and quite a high percentage of gorgeous girls around the place. Shows all the sport which is another plus.

The Harwood Arms, Fulham

Nice pub, good decor and food, only problem being that it seems to be full of a certain crowd who all went to the same school as the manager and much of the staff (Radley College, as I've often overheard). This is fine, but sometimes it does feel as if you've gatecrashed a bit of a ra ra public school party...

The Fox and Pheasant, Fulham

Absolutely fantastic pub. A real village pub in the heart of London.

The Scarsdale Tavern, Kensington

The garden's lovely and it almost seems like a country pub in terms of regulars and atmosphere. Recommended.

The Atlas, West Brompton

Wonderful, buzzy pub that's always full and serves amazing food. Service can be a bit brusque, but with the cosy inside and the nice little walled garden to the side, this is one of the best pubs in London.

The Prince of Wales, West Brompton

Full of strange types but it's friendly enough and the front terrace is nice. Can be a bit brutal when it comes to asking you to leave at ten past eleven, but other than that it's passable.

The Hansom Cab, Kensington

This place has been done up and the refurb means its now an atmospheric and buzzy place to drink. Really friendly staff, a great selection of unusual beers and a variety of comfy seating mean I'd definitely recommend it. If there's a problem it's maybe that it's become a bit too trendy - DJ nights etc - but overall the changes are welcome.

The Troubadour, West Brompton

Great looking and atmospheric place but the service and food standard really lets it down. Maybe because of its history and its army of arty regulars this place is way up its own back passage, though I admit that on a sunny day the garden out the back is a very pleasant place to drink.

The Blackbird, Earls Court

Not too bad. There's a nice corner area where they have candles and it can feel quite cosy. Reliable standby in the area.

The Courtfield, Earls Court

Scummy place, scummy people - there are many better places to drink than in here.

The Kings Head, Earls Court

Very nice pub. Different from the ones on the Earls Court Road in that it's not full of weirdos... Can be tricky to get a seat as it's always busy but this pub is definitely the best choice if you're drinking near the station.
