Boarded up at present, as is the Wellington (not on BITE) at the other end of Haldane Road.

I worked in this pub in the early to mid nineties when it was known as the Jolly Brewer. I remember it being an outstanding pub that catered for all 'across the board', the Landlord was a man called Frank, an outstanding man who ran a great ship. Not been in there since but will check it out if in the area

Now the Barrow Boy. Good pub and they're trying hard. Probably too far down North End Road to suceed as a gentrified local. Food was good last time I ate there.

This pub has just reopened under new management. I was walking past the other day and noticed a sign for a quiz on Wednesday night. I am a fan so decided to try it out with my girlfriend. A lot of fun. Being new, it could use a few more teams, but the atmosphere was very laid back, and the quizmaster was loud and funny. The drinks were reasonably priced for the area and served with a smile by the new proprietor, Steve. A good addition to the area.

Obviously I meant 250ml wine. Feel a bit nervous as previous people seem to get shouted at for posting after 1am. Alas I drive and live far away!!
