The Pitcher and Piano, Bishopsgate

I swore once never to visit this place again but unfortunately had to go to a colleagues leaving drinks there... The place hadn't changed in the five years or so since my last visit. Still very very sh*t. Oh there I go swearing again....

The Three Jolly Wheelers, Woodford Green

Somewhere to eat I think as the bar service has been pretty poor the last few times I visited.

19 Sep 2008 14:55

Ye Olde Kings Head, Chigwell

Nice place to go for a meal, would't spend a whole evening there... Is a tad pricey, but still good for a couple of beers. Also has a ghost and a secret tunnel to the church so the landlady told me one night!

19 Sep 2008 14:51

The Counting House, Bank

Fantastic building, and awesome pies for lunch... A tad expensive for my taste, otherwise known as London prices... Definately go for lunch, eat the pies!

19 Sep 2008 14:43

The Water Poet, Shoreditch

Grotty to look at with almost impossible to find toilets, but great barstaff and loads of outdoor seating for those that dont mind the soggy summers, highly recommended!

The Sterling, London

Not sure if it was expnsive as didn't get to buy a round... The stella tasted a bit more of chemicals than usual but the guinness was ok... Table service was a nice idea... but very busy indoors so sat out in the wind... get there early i suppose if you really want to visit!

29 Jun 2007 11:54

The Cuckfield, Wanstead

A rather nice pub nowadays...

9 Mar 2007 11:44

The Punch And Judy, Covent Garden

I went there once. They didn't have any beer on tap. And the toilets had flooded. I won't be back anytime soon.

14 Nov 2006 10:43

The George, Liverpool Street

Busy, noisy, can't remember what the prices were like... but incredible toilets and its not the Hamilton Hall.. Not a place to spend an evening though.

14 Nov 2006 10:39

The Chamberlain Hotel, Aldgate

Well this was the only place open on a Saturday night while aiming for Tower Hill, so stopped for a few beers and was pleasantly suprised. Good service, not over priced and easy to find when your mates phone up lost aswell!

14 Nov 2006 10:35

The Birkbeck Tavern, Leyton

Can get a bit crowded before and after Orient play, but they don't mind away fans which makes a nice change! Huge outdoors area for the summer, and occasionally some attractive bar staff... though they might not speak English which can be a problem when asking for beers with silly names! Worth a visit if you're in the area for sure!

14 Nov 2006 10:28

The King Edward VII, Stratford

Good beers and nice food in a good old fashioned smokey pub... recommended!

14 Nov 2006 10:23

O'Neills, Leytonstone

I didn't think the pub part was too bad... But the club was really, truely awful... I never thought I'd say it, but i'd actually choose to go to Romford than this place again!

14 Nov 2006 10:20

The Railway Tavern, Liverpool Street

Quite a nice meeting point in the city on a Saturday night for a cheeky beer before moving on...

10 Nov 2006 11:04

All Bar One, Tower Bridge

Not too bad to sit out on the Thames under a heater in November... Decent beers and good chips!

10 Nov 2006 11:00

The Barrowboy and Banker, London Bridge

Popped in for a pint on a Thursday night, 3 bar staff tried to serve me... awesome!

10 Nov 2006 10:56

The Cantaloupe, Shoreditch

Serves some nice Absinthe, but the 10 mile trek to the toilets is a downer...

6 Jun 2006 13:11

93 Feet East, Shoreditch

A bit of a sweatbox nightclub playing some of the weirdest music ive ever heard, all at several hundred beats per minute... Enjoyable when half cut, particularly the manga film showing on the big screen behind the dj. Rubbish beer though.

6 Jun 2006 13:07

The Masque Haunt, Old Street

Average Wetherspoons. The selling point was the incredibly clean toilets, never seen anything like it!

6 Jun 2006 13:00

O'Neills, Bishopsgate

Small and dingy, only pop in if making up the numbers on a pub crawl...

22 Mar 2006 15:43

Hill Street Blues, Amsterdam

Yes I can still remember this coffee shop... just... Rather dark and pretty small, so is prone to overcrowding, and I only drank the nasty Heineken they seem to sell in every bar in Amsterdam... Not the best place to drink, but definately not the worst!

22 Mar 2006 15:41

Gravity Bar, Dublin

Definately not a pub, but stunning views and the best pint of black stuff you'll ever drink

22 Mar 2006 15:37

Brannigans, Romford

I must be missing something... This place has far too many old girls in it, the beer is nasty and the bouncers are far too angry. Have had some fun nights here though, but have to be suitable lubricated to really enjoy the place...

13 Mar 2006 20:41

Eastsides, Ilford

Full of Ilford students sitting around acting all moody. Horrible!

13 Mar 2006 20:37

The Moon Under Water, Leicester Square

Fairly small Wetherspoons, not as awful as some in the company...

13 Mar 2006 20:34

Varsity, Southend on Sea

Good atmosphere, lots of totty and some decent music. Worth a visit.

13 Mar 2006 20:32

The Last Post, Southend on Sea

Another Wetherspoons with its trademark inept staff but at least some were willing to have a chat. Probably the biggest pub I've been to in ages! Not the worst in the chain.

13 Mar 2006 20:31

The Hog's Head, Southend on Sea

Only popped in for a pint, nothing to complain about but was assured by the whip man that the service was awful!!

13 Mar 2006 20:30

The Globe, Moorgate

Always busy and pretty dingy... Not bad before a night out though...

26 Feb 2006 19:27

Apt Bar, City Of London

A bar in the same mould as all the other awful places to drink in the city... And it seems to attract angry girls who don't like being asked not to push in at the bar... Not a fan

26 Feb 2006 19:24

Clause Bar, Monument

Incredibly slow service and nothing of interest during happy hour... The music was ok though...

26 Feb 2006 19:21

The Big Chill Bar, Shoreditch

Nice heated outdoors area, bit small inside for my liking. Worth popping in after a curry...

17 Feb 2006 13:27

White Horse, Great Baddow

Nice big pub, well decorated, lots of levels to sit / stand on and very friendly staff. Just a shame I went there after giving blood and could only have one pint!

17 Feb 2006 13:01

Bar Polska, Holborn

Small and busy but friendly staff and crazy drinks. Well worth a visit!

17 Feb 2006 12:59

Dirty Dick's, Bishopsgate

Brilliant old mans pub. Dingy, smokey atmosphere but pleasant service and is set out on 3 levels so you can usually get a table if there before 5pm....

8 Jan 2006 14:29

The Old Maypole, Ilford

Used to be my pub of choice, but now seems to want to cater for all the under aged chavs in the area. Best to avoid if football is on the telly as seats and service become non-existent. OK for a few afternoon beers though...

8 Jan 2006 14:27

The Valentine, Ilford

Finished up a Christmas pub crawl here.... Service was very slow, but lots of attractive young ladies, and some nice big sofas to pass out on.... Better than it used to be!

8 Jan 2006 14:19

The General Havelock, Ilford

Quite nice old style pub.... large non-smoking area and a couple of attractive vaguely-English speaking bar girls... Not bad for a cheeky pint while the missus is taking in the exchange massive.....

8 Jan 2006 14:17

Great Spoon of Ilford, Ilford

A typical if immense Wetherspoons.. ie rubbish staff and even worse clientele.... Still, very cheap and you can always get a table... it may just be half a mile from the bar...

8 Jan 2006 14:15

Light Bar, Shoreditch

Nice place to drink on a week night but avoid on Fridays and Saturdays as gets rammed and plays terrible music. Fun to take short people to though as the tables are about 6 feet tall....

8 Jan 2006 14:13

The Puffer Bar, Easdale Island

Went here for the world stone skimming competition last year... Great little pub, nice people, good beer and highly unlikely to get any visits from our little chav buddies!

13 Oct 2005 11:27

Bedouin, Smithfield

Yep the reviews are right... Staff are terribly slow, the toilets are horrendous and the drinks are expensive... But I always seem to have a good night here! Suppose it depends on the company you keep....

13 Oct 2005 11:23

The Shooting Star, Liverpool Street

Fairly useless staff and expensive beer, but great food and you can usually get a table. One of the best pubs in the area!

13 Oct 2005 11:12

The Chequers, Barkingside

Such an old mans pub, but I did spend most of my sixth form here so it holds too many memories to slate! Resonable beer and a couple of pool tables, can get busy at night but a nice place to relax on your day off!

13 Oct 2005 11:09

Luppolo, Wanstead

Average beer and frequented Chelsea shirts (this is East London chaps..), but lots of good looking girls so worth a visit!

13 Oct 2005 11:05

Digress, Moorgate

This place plays good music till about 8pm, then all the mongs come in and it goes wrong..... Still, expensive drinks, overcrowded dance floors and bad staff, what more could you want from a night in the city?!!

8 Sep 2005 16:56

The Sir Paul Pindar, Bishopsgate

I only go there as its near work and other people like it.... Occasionally they hire an attractive barmaid which momentarily makes you forget about the bad drinks, bad clientele and bad friday night disco...

8 Sep 2005 16:52

The Goose, Romford

This is the place to get drunk in before hitting the Romford clubs, and trust me, you'll need to be drunk to enjoy the local hospitality.... cheap drinks but full of scruffy looking children in their strange goth outfits... Still, have met a bloke in here before called Hitler and another fella who told us about his mate that died while trying to swim while drunk in a vat in the old brewery, so can be an eye-opener!

8 Sep 2005 16:48

The Zoo Bar, Leicester Square

Quite simply the worst bar ive ever been to.... horrendous music, expensive drinks, and a very odd no keyring policy! I would never visit again. Ever.

8 Sep 2005 16:30

New Fairlop Oak, Barkingside

It is Cheap.... But the food sometimes makes you wish you'd gone for a dodgy kebab instead, it's full of chavs the staff are useless... It is fun to try and drink everything off the menu mind and is just up the road with a blinding curry house opposite so gets a 5/10....

8 Sep 2005 16:26

The Cuckfield, Wanstead

Made the mistake of trying to watch an England foootie qualifier there..... only lager or cider on tap, never a good sign.... half fat skin-heads, half spiky haired lairy essex boys..... and the staff were poo..... left at half time, so there you go!
